Mr Alexander Vaughan is a dual fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Hand & Wrist Surgeon, awarded the European Diploma in Hand Surgery in 2022. He specialises in all aspects of distal forearm, wrist, carpal and hand conditions, offering both surgical and non-surgical treatments tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Mr Vaughan holds an NHS Consultant post at Frimley Park Hospital and is recognised for his caring, high-quality approach throughout the patient journey, from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and rehabilitation, with a strong focus on maximising functional outcomes through shared decision-making.
Mr Vaughan studied Medicine at Imperial College London, where he also completed a Master’s in Surgical Education. His thesis on orthopaedic training was awarded a merit. He went on to complete higher orthopaedic training in the Kent, Surrey & Sussex deanery, with time spent at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.
Alongside his clinical work, he serves as Clinical Audit & Research Lead for Trauma & Orthopaedics at Frimley Park. He is an active member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, the International Wrist Arthroscopy Society, and the International Bone & Research Society.
His previous roles include Trainee Representative on the BSSH Overseas Committee, and he has also worked as a team doctor for rugby league, judo championships, and as an expedition medic on Mount Kilimanjaro.

Enjpyable and informative visit. On time and to the point.
I had Dupuytren’s contracture on left hand which mr Vaughan operated on
Friendly and understanding ,Very informative, addressed all issues in depth with a clear understanding.
Mr Vaughan was very professional and explained everything to me clearly
Appointment was on time and Mr Vaughn took time to explain what other opions were open to me should I need them. He was right in his prediction that there would be a 70 -90% improvement which was pleasing. Needless to say I am very happy with the result and the way Mr Vaughn delt with me.
