There was a lot of waiting for drops to take effect as part of the treatment but the fact that everytime one of the staff passed they acknowledged you so you didn't feel you had been forgotten, a big plus in my book. There were many times when my DOB and name were checked. This made me feel secure as I think it made me feel that any mix up was very unlikely, another plus in my book. During the set up for the operation I was asked to look into the very bright light. Not a problem for the eye being operated on but keeping my other eye open as requested was difficult for me. Perhaps some form of shading for the other eye could be provided so that the natural instinct to close that eye could be eliminated and thus the natural effect of doing that affecting the eye being operated on. During the operation the surgeon needed to speak to me at times. I am hard of hearing and didn't have my hearing aids in. At times it was hard to hear the surgeon. The issue was worse when the "pump" noise was going. Some of this was the fact that she was a lady with a higher pitch voice, whereas I could easily hear the male voice in the room. I have the same issue hearing my wife for the same reason (I claim!). Perhaps it would be good if the surgeon established if there is a hearing problem and if there is, the voice volume could be raised. I realise that this is my problem but I cannot be unique in this case given the age profile of you patients. This visit was my second eye so I knew what was happening. However, thinking back to my first visit perhaps a slightly better introduction could be given to new patients as to what to expect with the intervals between patient staff interactions to help limit any anxiety they may feel. Also a bit more information regarding the after effects of the operation could help and anxiety at that time. I realise you will wince at this but I found a YouTube video of american origin that went through the after effects step by step and this relieved me as I realised what was happening to me was normal. Overall I was very pleased with the atitude of all the staff I met and the service they provided. Thank you very much.

KT is by far the best physio I have ever been to. I went to KT to help to address a posterior pelvic tilt to help with a hip cam lesion as per instructions from a surgeon. KT took time in advance prior to our first appointment to read through the surgeon notes and very clearly understood what the notes suggested and was able to articulate this to me in a very easy to understand manner. KT really puts her patients first. She took time to understand what my personal goals were on the route to recovery such as getting back to a full gym routine and from the very first session suggested moderated ways in which I could build back up my routine. Under KTs clear and thoughtful guidance I was able to resume some level of exercise far quicker than I ever thought possible. KT provided very thorough instructions during our sessions and in the email write up that she sent after each session. Something I found particularly valuable was that KT demonstrated any exercises she gave me and then would film me doing the exercise on my phone to watch back, with her instructions voiced over the video. KT adapted well to my needs and continued to progress me in each session within what she knew I was capable of. After each session with KT I felt more and more assured and confident in my recovery. I could not recommend Katie enough, her friendly attitude and genuine desire to help not only aided in my recovery but made the entire process thoroughly enjoyable.

I actually did not get to use the facilities in the private wing of Charing Cross Hospital, as I was seen in neurophysiology on level three of the NHS departments. The only time I had to go up to the 15th floor was to get two forms, stamped and provide my pre-authorisation number that meant getting in a crowded lift and riding up to the 15th floor, which took a very long time as the lift stopped on nearly every floor. Then I had to go back down to level three for tests. It was actually quite stressful for someone with my health conditions to do this, and to be expected to do this administration as the patient!. The waiting area in the NHS department was not relaxing, it was very hot, no natural light was had limited/poor ventilation and the receptionist was quite rude. The medical staff were more polite. When I pay for private healthcare, I prefer to stay in the private department than in the crowded NHS areas. I gather on this occasion the tests were not available in the private wing, but perhaps another hospital where the consultant worked would’ve been able to accommodate. I was not informed that the tests would be in the NHS department.

As a someone who has never experienced detox/rehab, group therapy, meetings, psychiatric evaluation or support and with very little exposure to discussion or open dialogue about my addition or indeed addiction in general it would have been helpful to have a better introduction/orientation to the process, perimeters, etiquette etc. I full appreciate the variables and ambiguities in an environment such as this but even being aware of what they might be would have been helpful. I felt my length of stay and the detox treatment was minimised and at times mocked, invalidating my treatment, commitment and if I’m honest, my character. I felt ridiculous and vulnerable and two particular group sessions. I would never have mocked anyone else’s efforts or derided anyone on their multiple attempts at recovery but if I had I would have fully expected to be challenged for doing so - I didn’t feel there was anyone interested in challenging the negativity directed towards me and it left me feeling quite isolated and undermined.

I had my Pre-assessment on 14/91/26 at 09.30. I arrived early because of the inadequate parking at the hospital but was pleasantly surprised to be able to park straight away so, I arrived at 09.00 for my appt. I registered with reception then the nurse, Sharon, called me. Sharon talked me through my Pre-assessment and explained in detail what would happen when I'm admitted for my op. She gave me an ECG, took MRSA swabs and I had my bloods taken. Sharon explained several forms to me and provided Octensian wash and nasal gel for me to use prior to admission and after. The whole experience was positive. Sharon was very professional with an easy, friendly manner and kindly answered my questions that she had not already covered.

Hospital was dirty. Room was dirty. Was provided with a pillow that was fully stained yellow on one side with no pillow cover. One of the nurses saw it when he turned it over but I had already been lying on it for hours. Went to the surgery without any pillow only to wake up to another stained pillow without any cover. Found a toenail on the bed. Very unhygienic and was not comfortable. Staff were ok. Food received was not what I ordered, so left without eating anything. Will only be coming back for my second operation because it is the surgeons only practice that is close to where I live, otherwise would not be returning. Hygiene is most important in these environments and it was not to par at all. Worse than NHS.

I am extremely grateful to be referred to Dr. Bhatia . who has been extremely thorough in looking into every aspect of the diagnosis and ensured to rule out any possible complications. His immediate attention, preponing the tests to ensure the results are in quickly so treatment can be started as early as possible, was highly commendable. He has been very patient and explained every step of the procedure to ensure that everything was clear and thorough. I am so delighted to be seen by Dr. Bhatia and highly recommend him. Laura, his PA, has been extremely helpful in sorting out the appointments as promptly as possible and always readily available to help with any queries. Many thanks and best wishes.

This was my first visit to your clinic . I was apprehensive but was shown to the waiting area and had to wait only a couple minutes to meet Prof O’Donnell . My daughter ( a nurse ) was with me. Prof O’Donnell set me at ease straight away and explained what he was going to do . He examined both my legs and told no medical procedure was necessary and he would see me again in 3 months. He explained everything clearly and I was glad my daughter was present. I left Prof O’ Donnell’s room very relieved. He was a pleasure and a great person to meet when I was a worried patient. I thank him very much.

He has endless patience, excellent bedside manner, and impressive breadth of knowledge. He's calm, collected, straight-talking, and supportive. He put me at ease at once, and I felt I was in very competent hands indeed. I highly recommend him. Not least, his private secretary, Ms. Cervenanska, is wonderful. She is helpful, quick to respond, and generally the epitome of efficiency. Thank you both.

Mr Modgil was absolutely fantastic. His experience allowed us to clearly understand the situation and get straight to the point, which meant we were able to proceed with the treatment we needed very quickly. Despite challenging circumstances, his expertise and calm, reassuring approach contributed to a successful procedure. Mr Modgil is clearly a world class surgeon and a leading expert in MicroTESE. He explained everything in great detail in a way that was easy for me to understand, and made me thoroughly aware of the potential risks of my treatment in a way that was calming rather than frightening. It is quite impressive to meet someone for the first time and immediately develop a strong sense of trust. For this, I am very grateful.

I had the Aquablation surgery under Mr Brewin at New Hall. I spent a long time researching surgeons who perform this procedure and I am very pleased I chose Mr Brewin. I live a very long way from Salisbury but it was worth the journey. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. My only regret is that I wish I'd had the treatment earlier. Mr Brewin is down to earth charming and Knowledgeable and I would highly recommend.

All round great dental practise. Can’t wait to see the end result of my smile makeover.
