Vivek has been the face of Elanic for me. His patience and understanding along with knowledge and experience put you at ease after your first consultation. On the follow up visit with him - he’s ready and willing to carry out revision if needed without question. He as keen as the patient to get the finished result spot on The nursing staff are fantastic. Very welcoming and great at reassuring you. They can’t do enough. My only gripe was that nobody was able to give me any details after my op of the size of implant I received or how much fat was removed. I’m hoping to learn this today at my follow up phone call. This is my second procedure at Elanic and both times, I have found the admin side of things lets them down. Omissions/mistakes/non personalisation of documentation emailed for signature. Not taking into consideration distance to travel when allocating follow up appointments (evening appointments aren’t ideal when having to travel nearly 2 hours). Multiple texts arriving all at the same time with schedule of follow up appointments. Thankfully I scrolled up and saw that there were many messages and didn’t just read the last one sent. Very much feels like a “tick box” effort and not enough thought put into making things more customer friendly/professional. I would still choose a Elanic and wouldn’t hesitate recommending to others. The medical side of things is second to none.

The whole referral process was a bit of a mess with little communication, so what could have been a 4-8 week wait-time was actually turned into 3-4 months. I understand though that since my original referral skylight had an influence of applications, but mine got put aside without talking to me because of problems with my GP. When I originally contacted them after 8 weeks to get some information I was told not to contact again and then if anything was needed from me someone from skylight would reach out. So I wait, and heard nothing. When I finally contacted them again, close to the 4 months mark, I got told my referral still hadn't been processed because of a mistake from my GP and them not answering Skylight's emails/phone calls. I had to keep contacting both skylight and my GP to get this sorted until finally someone who could give me a bit more help and information helped get it sorted then and there. I cant fault skylight too much though, right after that everything went smoothly and they have been really informative on the rest of the steps. I just wish in future they contact the patient right away if it happens, rather than wait for the patient to contact them.

I was seen despite living in York. I’d had bad experiences of negligence and neglect from three other trusts (turned out to be cancer - having been called a hypochondriac by the lead urologist at York hospital who refused to agree even to a scan). When the cancer was eventually found, a prosthetic testicle was inserted - the wrong size and badly placed. When I was seen at the Whittington, the action plan made sense (Newcastle were advocating opening up the groin incision - as a molecular biologist this made little sense). The surgery performed, and the improvement was apparent the moment the bandages came off. This is as perfect a replacement as the highly imperfect implants allow! I’m also able to contact the department further down the line given my poor experiences elsewhere should I need further treatment. I’ll be requesting To see Mr Garaffa if possible!

1. Pleasant interactions 2. I had one primary issue with my ankle and a secondary issue with my toe. Both were remediated in a comprehensive manner. I am from a sporting background, Mr. O’Flaherty has addressed the items of concern I first approached him with, with no set backs and continual advice throughout the process. 3. Definitive answers: typically from other consultants you can recieve quite wishy washy answers, not saying yes but also not saying no which can often leave you worrying and speculating and even overthinking certain things. It was quite refreshing to get definitive interpretations / answers and solutions from Mr O’Flaherty.

I had never heard experienced any issues with my heath up until my meniscus and ACL injury due to this I was apprehensive about the situation. Can’t say enough good things about Mr Sarker. He was fantastic when I presented with what I thought was a minor soft tissue injury in my finger which turned out to be a tendon sheath infection and an emergency, calling local A&E and sending me there with a written explanation of his findings resulting in me having surgery that day at at NHS hospital. Ever since he has been forthright but kind and honest and considerate, and excellent at explaining options and prognosis. I think I genuinely owe him very much for doing what he did and probably saving a large portion of the current function in my finger. A fantastic consultant.

Dr Ashfaq Khan is a highly skilled and experienced consultant. He was extremely patient with all my questions and provided me a lot of reassurance before my procedure. It's a rollercoaster. It's not easy and you can expect to be up and down constantly within each day but you have to remember why you are here and embrace your chance to recover. Be where you are meant to be on time, be open minded but filter out issues that you not yours . Don't expect the timetable to always be correct. Food is not great and everyone's feelings, behaviours and attitudes fluctuate. Be honest with yourself and others. Learn to stay calm, be considerate and kind.
