Mr R. Rees Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist In September 2021, my Bulbar Urethral Stricture was dilated by ANOTHER Surgeon for a second time & I commenced ONCE A WEEK self-catheterisation. I self-catheterise once a week for 2.5 years until in March 2024, Mr Rees undertook an OPTILUME Procedure on my Urethra to treat this Stricture. After this Procedure, I was able to cease self-catheterisation. We are now in March 2026 i.e. TWO years after my OPTILUME Procedure & all this time I’ve NOT had to self-catheterise. I just want to complement Mr Rees for undertaking this successful OPTILUME Procedure and my gratitude to him for NOT having to self-catheterise once a week which I sincerely hope continues.
I had not visited before. It was very easy to find the hospital and there was plenty of parking too. The staff were very welcoming. Mr Rowland Rees took me in early. He listened very well, acknowledged having received the referral from my other specialist Miss Drake. He was very understanding, discussed possible solutions and agreed an action plan with me. I have since received correspondence from him confirming the actions agreed.
I have seen Mr Rees a number of times regarding previous Lichen Sclerosus, and he is an exceptional practitioner. He gives clear and accurate information delivered with care and professionalism. Most importantly, I trust his expertise and judgement implicitly. I recently had (hopefully, a final) a follow up appointment and feel reassured that I have been treated by the very best.
It was a pleasure to see Mr Rees again, he implanted an AUS for me 8 years ago which gave me back my life from the restrictions of incontinence. He is one of the best consultants I have had the pleasure of dealing with and I will always be grateful for the skill he possess.
Upon looking into a vasectomy reversal we came across Mr Rees and his reviews were the best. We went to his London clinic for the procedure and everything was perfect. At the end I of the procedure he stated it was the worse vasectomy he has ever seen. He was only able to attach one side with the minimal amount to work with. Fast forward one year and we are pregnant and this is all thanks to his amazing work!
I have been in this process for the last couple of years and have seen a couple of GP's and 3 or 4 urologists during this period. The care/pathway/options and results that I have received from Mr Rees have been by far the most positive.
I went to see Mr. Rees after an initial set of procedures that resulted in a less than satisfactory outcome with excessive oedema in the area of concern. After being referred on to Mr. Rees, having the initial consultation and subsequent surgery, I can honestly say that the entire experience has been excellent. I would happily recommend him to any family or friends that find themselves in need of his expertise.
Nesbit procedure performed after a couple of postponements due to outside issues Procedure went very well, with very little pain and all completed very speedily
Procedure explained clearly and operational in Sarum hospital all went as planned. All went as planned including recovery and follow up
From the first consultation everything was explained in terminology I could understand. This all too often is not the case. My surgery was most strait forward and beyond a doubt I feel I have regained my life back. For anyone having doubts about if they should go ahead with this procedure, please put your trust in Mr Rolland Rees and you too can regain your old lifestyle just as I have.
Rowland Rees is an outstanding urologist whose work in male fertility and reproductive microsurgery is both meticulous and innovative. His deep understanding of male reproductive health and his patient-centred approach make him a true asset to our multidisciplinary team. I highly recommend him to any patient or colleague seeking expert, evidence-based care in this area.
