About Dr. Julekha Wajed
Dr. Julekha Wajed is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust. Her specialist interests includes early inflammatory arthritis, as well as osteoarthritis, gout, osteoporosis, polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), giant cell arteritis (GCA), and vasculitis. She provides soft tissue and joint steroid injections.
Dr. Wajed is dedicated to patient-centred care, integrating medical treatments, patient education, exercise, and a holistic approach to managing rheumatological conditions.
After graduating from Manchester University in 2003, she completed her medical training in North Thames London and earned her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine from the South Thames London training program. She was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2017.
Dr. Wajed holds an MSc in Rheumatology from King's College London. She has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the Barbara Ansell and Eric Bywaters prizes at the Royal Society of Medicine, and a travelling fellowship from the British Society of Rheumatology.

Dr Wajed was welcoming, friendly and quickly put me at ease. She had read my GP’s papers and was prepared for the consultation. She gave me plenty of time to explain my symptoms and concerns and listened attentively. Her knowledge and experience is soon obvious. She explained matters thoroughly and was happy to answer all my questions. The fact that she will be supporting me through me treatment gives me every confidence as to a successful outcome.
Very professional and courteous. We did a deep dive into all pertinent history and Dr Wajed was genuinely engaged in talking it through, to best determine the next steps. All the way explaining any element required.
Excellent and very knowledgable with auto immune disease. Very quickly tests were done and right medication was given to protect my organs due to active vasculitis flare. I would recommend Dr Wajed, if you have been suffering with any auto immune disease , joint pain, RA or rheumatology disorder.
Dr Wajed was sympathetic and attentive to my queries about my neck and head pain. She suggested further investigations and in the meantime a prescription for the pain.
