About Dr. Julekha Wajed
Dr. Julekha Wajed is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust. Her specialist interests includes early inflammatory arthritis, as well as osteoarthritis, gout, osteoporosis, polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), giant cell arteritis (GCA), and vasculitis. She provides soft tissue and joint steroid injections.
Dr. Wajed is dedicated to patient-centred care, integrating medical treatments, patient education, exercise, and a holistic approach to managing rheumatological conditions.
After graduating from Manchester University in 2003, she completed her medical training in North Thames London and earned her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine from the South Thames London training program. She was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2017.
Dr. Wajed holds an MSc in Rheumatology from King's College London. She has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the Barbara Ansell and Eric Bywaters prizes at the Royal Society of Medicine, and a travelling fellowship from the British Society of Rheumatology.
Dr. Wajed is also actively involved in research, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented her work at both local and European conferences. She has held leadership roles in clinical effectiveness and audit committees and contributes to the training junior doctors.

My appointment was well managed and the doctor was very attentive and professional
Dr. Wajid was extremely sympathetic and helpful. She listened attentively to my description of my medical history and recent symptoms. She examined me thoroughly and then told me what she thought the problem was. She prescribed medication which hopefully will clear my symptoms and she will review the outcome in six weeks time.
Dr Wajed was highly professional whilst being extremely warm and empathetic. She took great care to understand my condition asking several questions to ensure she had complete understanding. She was easy to converse with and gave clear concise professional advice. I left feeling confident that she has a good plan of action for my continuing care

I recently had an appointment with Dr Wajed and the care I received was exceptional. Her bedside manner was impeccable. She listened carefully to everything I had to say, took on board all of my symptoms and concerns, and looked at my health issues as a whole and very thoroughly. It was clear that she is extremely knowledgeable and well informed about Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and hypermobility. I felt genuinely listened to and taken seriously throughout, and have a clear pathway to better health. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough rheumatologist.

Dr Wajed took the time to listen to me with the upmost level of care and empathy and is very knowledgeable, which gave me full confidence in her advice and diagnosis. Dr Wajed was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. She tested me thoroughly and easily recognised the weakness in my muscles causing my problems. She ave me clear and helpful instructions going forward. Also, very helpfully, Dr Wajed will be writing to my NHS GP with her recommendations for my ongoing treatment.
