I went for an independent assessment of my prostate cancer diagnosis with a possible view to private treatment if I did not get chosen for focal therapy on the NHS trial that I hade been offered. Also to help me make my mind up which of the many options offered to me by the NHS A consultation was quickly arranged via Mr Doherty’s p.a. for £250 which my wife and I attended. I was given an excellent appraisal at the meeting followed by a letter that outlined a meeting Mr Doherty had with his peers to discuss my case. The letter confirmed that in their opinion focal therapy was a good option in my particular case having had access to my medical records This in my view was an excellent service for the fee but I was lucky enough to be chosen for this focal treatment under the NHS trial, I would have gone private had not my private medical insurance rejected my claim (that is another story) I am however indebted to Mr Doherty’s help and service which he provided So far the day operation held in Oxford on the 10th Nov 2025 has had very few downsides although I am still awaiting the final result on Jan 13th 2026 and hoping for a positive result from my consultant on this day The treatment was far less intrusive that the other options offered to me for which I count myself very lucky. Under the trial I will be monitored so that the NHS can find out how the longer term prognosis is for focal treatments so they are able to offer this more widely in the NHS. For my selfish sake I hope that it is good news for me and will enable others to benefit from my experience now and in the future. I am aged 74 and look forward to good health for the foreseeable future.🤞

The anaesthetist.was also lovely as were the whole team which made me feel welcome & valued. I’m delighted to say everything went smoothly & my recovery was comfortable & quick. I have been absolutely delighted with Mr Kumar's professionalism & care throughout the entire journey, from initial consultation, through the operation, to final consultation & pathology review. Mr Kumar explained fully what the procedure would or could involve beforehand, ensured he had an up to date MRI scan immediately before the operation, came to see me and reassure me before the operation and very soon after the operation too, was happy for me to stay overnight due to the effects of anaesthesia and saw me again before I left in the morning. I also saw him the week after the operation prior to having a drain removed and a month after the operation for final review & pathology review. I would like to sincerely thank Mr Kumar for his treatment & care, removing a gallbladder which has bothered me for most of my life, and making what could have been a worrying time into quite an enjoyable experience! I was born with undescended testes that were missed at birth and had always felt incredibly self-conscious about it. I did not seek treatment until I was post-puberty. I was luckily referred to Dr Chitale, who has delivered exemplary service. He explained everything very clearly, answered all of my many questions and put me at ease during an incredibly stressful period. The speed was what astonished me. The gap between being first referred and being operated on was incredibly fast, just two weeks. The bilateral orchidopexy, which is quite an invasive surgery, went perfectly. My recovery was surprisingly smooth and subsequent follow ups with Dr. Chitale really helped put me at ease. I cannot recommend him enough. I thought I was going to live with this condition for the rest of my life and Dr. Chitale has changed that. I will always be grateful for this gift he has given me.

The initial consultation was an evening appointment and I considered it to be expensive. The consultants fee (Dr Kadhim) was £250 (equating to £1000 per hour) Administration fee £35 (for what) and an e.c.g which took all of 5 minutes was £111. Total £396. I was promised by the consultant that Cardioversion would happen before my holiday in mid December but received excuses from admin staff why this could not happen. I kept pestering and eventually received notice at 3.00pm the day before that Cardioversion would occur at 07.30 the following morning. The actual Cardioversion went without hitch, the consultant Dr Menown and his staff were excellent, facilities were good, food was ample and all went well. So do not take no for an answer.

I recently took my 3-year-old to Kidswell when he was feeling unwell, and we had an excellent experience from start to finish. We were able to get a same-day appointment, which was excellent. The reception staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful. The facilities are clearly designed with kids and their parents in mind—bright, comfortable, and reassuring. The doctor who saw us was efficient, thorough, and great with my son, taking the time to make sure we understood everything. The rooms were spotless and well-organized, which added to the sense of calm during a stressful moment. Overall, a very positive and reassuring experience. He began by asking for my experience and history of the varicose veins which were the occasion for my visit. I was sent to St Olaf’s for an ecg. The technician was excellent. As I walk over yet another HCA registration arrives for that appointment.
