Mr Ahmad Elsahn is professional, providing clear information that helps patients feel at ease. Patients experience significant vision improvement and no longer need glaucoma drops, with reduced eye pressure. Mr Elsahn undertakes interventions for glaucoma and cataract conditions, including various glaucoma surgeries.
My most recent visit was a follow up from MIGS plus cataract surgery a few weeks earlier. As I have come to expect from Mr Elsahn he was approachable and professional, taking the time to go through the tests and notes and to ask me if I was happy with the outcome, which I was pleased to confirm. My vision pre-surgery was such that I needed glasses all the time, having quite severe short-sightedness and astigmatism. Now, I can see clearly without glasses for the first time in my life and I am delighted. In addition I have had glaucoma for many years and until recently was using three different eyedrops daily to keep pressures in my eyes at a safe level - something Mr Elsahn has checked and if necessary adjusted at each consultation. When it became clear that surgery was in the best interests of preserving and improving my eyesight he explained thoroughly what my options were and took the time to ensure I would have the best possible outcome, including two separate geometric measurements to confirm my lens requirements. In my case that meant toric lenses to correct my vision and Miniject stents to manage pressures - with the intention to reduce or remove the need for glaucoma drops. Lenses and stents were installed at the same, with a couple of weeks between each eye. I would also like to say that everyone I dealt with for the operations, from reception to theatre, were wonderful and I felt cared for at all times.
Mr Elsahn was superb, understanding, inspiring and informative, answering all my questions, reviewing how I am, the positives and any concerns following the incredible surgery (cataract/MIGS) he performed on my right eye the previous week. The checks were extremely thorough, and everything was explained so clearly and calmly, and I was delighted to see Mr Elsahn so pleased (and rightly proud) of his work. I was stunned to find I had 20/20 vision returned and currently extremely low eye pressure, a mark of the highly successful surgery. Mr Elsahn explained in detail any potential future issues and how, if they occurred, they would be handled. We then discussed the potential surgery on my left eye in detail, and I was impressed and very reassured about the options and outcomes he has to improve what is a badly damaged eye, and I look forward to the surgical outcome in due course without the crippling fear I had before the previous operation. My Elsahn has changed my entire outlook, even at 73, after a lifetime of often horrible medical experiences and utter distrust. He has an immense presence of trust, calm, and professionalism, combined with the rare skill of making you feel safe, wanted, and cared for, even in the most difficult issues, and explaining the pros so clearly. cons and risks at a personal level, like a fatherly figure without the condescending talk-down approach I have encountered so often before. In my professional career, I have met so few people like Mr Elsahn, and I feel privileged and very secure in having him as my consultant and surgeon.
My treatment was excellant and professional at all stages.
Dealt with excellently. Cateract surgery went well and great results.
I was given clear instructions about the operation and what l was required to do beforehand. I had glaucoma and cataracts and was instructed to give myself Timolol drops before the operation to reduce the pressure on my eye, very easy to apply. Then on the day of the operation I was fitted with a drain to stabilise the pressure in my eye I also had a new lens to correct my sight. I was then given Antibiotic and Maxidex drops to use for up to 28 days. The whole procedure was very easy and non painful due to Mr Elshan and his team
Mr Elsahn is an excellent clinician and has provided clear explanation of my pathology from start. The procedure and the risks were clearly explained at every stage prior to my operation last week. Today my first post operation visit and I had excellent examination . I am very satisfied with today's visit. A follow up visit has been organised in 2 weeks to assess. All this has been face to face.
Mr Elsahn was very kind and informative. He has patience and understanding. The stent/cateract he performed was a great success with excellent vision within a very quick time after the operation. I highly recommend Mr Elsahn to anyone who is in his care before and after surgery.
