From the moment I arrived at Newmedica (Barlborough) I was welcomed and reassured by a friendly and efficient team. Every member of the team was professional and personable. It is clear that Mr. Brent has a great deal of experience and expertise. I was extremely pleased that he had been purposefully selected as my consultant. The advice he gave was detailed and matched my needs. He took time to explain my options in detail and gave reasons for choices that we decided upon through consultation. Mr. Brent was excellent throughout.

I opted to go private as I did not want to wait for NHS, and I wanted a lens that would minimise the chance of needing glasses. Both eyes needed cataracts removing The initial consultation was thorough and Mr Brent explained clearly the reasons for his choice of lens to suit my eyes. The actual surgery was very straightforward, and the second eye was done two weeks after the first. Both times the procedure was explained clearly so I knew what to expect. No problems with recovery, and I am exceedingly happy with my new vision.

I cannot fault the process from start to finish. Mr Brent was excellent throughout, he explained everything from the initial consultation, the actual operation and through to my discharge in a very understandable way and the outcome is better than I had envisaged. Could not have asked for any more from Alex, from start to finish having both eyes operated on and now being able to see without the aid of glasses or contact lenses is amazing, can’t praise him enough.

I’ve now had 3 surgeries with mr Brent. He has patiently explained each time what is going to happen. He’s listened to my concerns and adapted and made adjustments where necessary. He has always made extra time to discuss and plan. He’s made me feel very comfortable and I always feel like I’m in a safe pair of hands.

Excellent service throughout from pre op the op itself and after operation. All staff and Mr Brent weee exceptional and I would recommend Medicare to everyone. My vision is now almost 2020 vision and considering I am 83 years old to me it is fantastic. I can now drive again!!
