Consultant Eye Surgeon specialising in Vision Correction using Laser and Lens technology, Cataract and Corneal Surgery.
Mr Aaron Ng is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon based at Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust, Newmedica Birmingham and The Droitwich Spa Hospital. He is the Lead Surgeon for Cornea and Cataract Surgery at Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust.
He completed his medical degree at King's College London and spent his formative years in medical and surgical training in London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Boston, USA. He completed his surgical ophthalmology training in Cornea and External Eye Disease at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre.
For his work on improving outcomes in cataract surgery, he has won the prestigious Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists Congress Audit Prize in 2016 and the AMO Prize for the Best Paper at the British Society For Refractive Surgery in 2017. He had also won the South Thames Foundation School Audit, Teaching and Portfolio prizes in 2010 and 2011.

I came with my mum for her cataract surgery. She had a very positive experience. The process was very quick. She was made comfortable throughout. The surgeon very friendly and professional. We well kept well informed.

At first I was very nervous when I had my first cataract surgery but afterwards I realised it was not worth the worry. I was happy to have the second eye done without hesitation. The surgeon Mr Ng was very reassuring and kind. He took his time to explain clearly to me. The staff Camilla and Teresa who looked after me were lovely. Overall wonderful and will do it again, but unfortunately I don’t have a third eye!
Nothing to worry about at all, I was a bit apprehensive at first but the cataract surgery went brilliantly. The surgeon Aaron was very good and I was amazed how quick the surgery went!
It couldn’t be better. Everything went well and so efficient. Staff are wonderful and really good. Ten stars! The surgeon Mr Ng was lovely and did a marvellous job. There was no pain and I could see straight away through the shield when I came out of theatres.
I found Dr Ng easy to talk to. He explained every stage of the procedure in detail. I felt all of my questioned were answered in depth, and this made the whole experience easier taking away any anxiety I had. I would highly recommend Dr Ng and Newmedica to anyone

Everything was brilliant from start to finish. I was initially very anxious about my surgery but it was actually fine and nothing to worry about at all. The team were all very nice and accommodating. Surgeon explained everything to me prior to surger and performed the cataract surgery very well.
