Royal Derby Hospital

I was new to the area and therefore the hospital. I cannot fault the staff for the care and kindness show by all the staff.

Friendly staff, made me feel like I was the only person there, gave me reassurance when needed because of my anxiety

I told everyone in A&E I thought I had ectopic pregnancy. No one believed me and my pain was dismissed as just from the miscarriage. This was despite a HCA noting I had low blood pressure. I was only given paracetamol and codeine which I promptly threw up at admission. I was left in severe pain and bleeding internally overnight. All I was given was paracetamol. I felt very abandoned overnight and was told off fur not going to the toilet which was physically impossible for me due to pain. In the morning my pain was so severe and had to beg for oral morphine. I however after this point the doctors very quickly diagnosed me and I went for a scan and surgery within a few hours. Surgeon very good. Again felt a bit abandoned getting back to the ward (209) and again no one pain scored me. Also have not been offered physio or counselling.

Excellent hospital. Derby is lucky to have such a fantastic hospital

I found all the staff friendly and very helpful and was looked after very well.

From the minute I enter the department, to when I leave Gynecology, I am meet wonderful people who are excellent examples of listening, kindness, compassion, caring and professionalism. This department excels at efficiency when I have an appointment. Please Thank them all very much on behalf of myself.

Clean, tidy. Polite staff. No waiting required Exam room suite built for purpose and so enabled efficiency

I did have to wait over a year for my op but that’s out of Mr Abdul’s hands . I was fitted in due to a cancellation . All the staff have gone above and beyond even though they were clearly over stretched at many times during my stay .

Lovely hospital always clean the staff always nice and polite nothing was to much for them
