About Dr Prantik Das
Dr Prantik Das is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist with a specialist interest in urological and gastrointestinal cancers. His clinical practice focuses on advanced radiotherapy techniques aimed at improving cancer outcomes while minimising treatment-related side effects. He has particular expertise in hypofractionated radiotherapy, an approach that delivers higher doses of radiation over fewer treatment sessions to more effectively target tumours.
Dr Das is especially recognised for his work in Image-Guided Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR), including MR-guided radiotherapy, and is considered one of the national experts in MR-guided stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). These highly precise treatment techniques allow radiation to be delivered accurately to tumours while protecting surrounding healthy tissue. He also has significant interest in the use of High Dose Rate brachytherapy and SABR for the treatment of locally advanced prostate cancer.
He completed his basic medical training in the United Kingdom and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2009. He then undertook specialist Clinical Oncology training in the Northern Ireland Deanery and obtained a postgraduate diploma in Oncology from the University of London. After completing his Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2013, he undertook a Proton Therapy Fellowship at the University of Florida in the United States, further developing his expertise in advanced radiotherapy techniques.
Dr Das has been actively involved in numerous national and international clinical trials, frequently serving as a Principal Investigator. He has authored more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and has contributed as a reviewer and editor for international journals. He is also a contributing author of the Pocket Guide to Human Tumors and Cancer published by CRC Press in the United States.

His compassion gave me confidence and reassurance when I needed it most. My family and I are, and will always be, eternally grateful for the care, respect and dedication he showed me.

Dr Das gave me the time to ask all questions and showed empathy. No question was deemed too small. He provided reassurance I came away positive .
Dr Das is very good at giving the patient confidence with his positive and truthful comments. He is a caring and knowledgeable Dr. who also has a good sense of humour.
Dr Das is very dedicated to keeping you alive! He is focused on what is best to ensure you have the most effective treatment and so far it is working, for which I am very grateful. Sometimes Dr Das talks very fast and doesn’t always hear the question as he wants to give you all the information he thinks you want. Sometimes if he slowed down and listened a little more, I might understand things more and sooner. Having said that, I am very happy to have Dr Das as my consultant and I don’t think he could be doing any more for me.

Dr Das is excellent, caring, and goes to a lot of effort to ensure that my treatment plan is the best for me as an individual. Dr Das always listens to and answers all my questions and is very reassuring. I choose to travel from out of the area to see Dr Das as I would not get this level of care elsewhere.
All.my visits with Dr Das have been tremendiusly helpful and reassuring, with an outcome much better than i could ever have hoped for.
