Dr Vinay Kumar Bhatia was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Hospitals NHS Trust in 2009. He is based at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury, and also practises at Spire Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, The Wells Suite Tunbridge Wells Hospital and The Nuffield Hospital, Tunbridge Wells.
Dr Bhatia qualified in medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London. He formally trained in general medicine and cardiology (for 15 years in total) in London at hospitals that included the Hammersmith Hospital (Imperial College), the Royal Brompton Hospital and Harefield Hospital. This training included 3 years in basic science research (vascular biology and immunology) at Imperial College, London for which he was awarded a PhD in 2005.
Dr Bhatia is a fully trained general cardiologist with expertise in the field of cardiac imaging, specifically transthoracic, transoesophageal echocardiographic techniques and stress echocardiography (both with exercise and with pharmacological stress agents), and also diagnostic coronary angiography. He is an Honorary Consultant at Kings College, London, where he performs stress echocardiography studies and works closely with the cardiology/cardiothoracic team. Dr Bhatia is accredited by the British Society of Echocardiography for which he serves as a training supervisor and examiner.

My husband recently suffered a huge heart attack and although the NHS was amazing they saved his life ❤️ we wanted a private appointment for some more information and plan going forward. Dr Bhatia was brilliant he explained everything in calm reassuring manor and nothing was too much trouble would highly recommend him
