Having had experience with several Cardiologists in the past, I was looking for someone who has the specialism in the electrical pulse activation within the heart. From his CV compared with the others, he appeared to me to be the best of the choices on offer in Bristol. Having made that selection I have no hesitation in confirming that he quickly identified the problem with my heart and recommended that I have a two lead Pacemaker fitted. Following his recommendation in just over a week the operation took place. He has a very friendly manner and took time to explain all aspects of the procedure he intended to follow and the risk factors involved. He appears as a person who is calm and reassuring and I was convinced he is totally reliable and someone I could trust.

My overall experience was excellent. However when I got home I found I wasn't completely sure/ had forgotten exactly when and how to take all the medicines I was given and when to stop e.g. how slowly to reduce the codeine when I didn't need it any more. Clearly printed instructions to take home would have been reassuring straight away and later. I know I could have rung the Horder Centre any time for advice but at 82 years old my hearing is less than perfect and I worry I shall not remember everything I hear afterwards. The Horder hip replacement book is excellent and is still a constant source of referral and encouragement.

When I telephoned to make my appointment - during early afternoon -your receptionist was amazing! So many times since pandemic, in my experience businesses seem to have cut back on providing that so important first line of contact with a person who is friendly, welcoming and listens making intelligent comments and is really helping the caller. This was one if the best experiences I have met with lately - I can't praise the young lady enough - she's a real asset to the Practice. Mark was also amazing - but I've had treatment from his before some years ago so I knew what to expect and wasn't disappointed!

Dr To is outstanding: she combines rigour and expertise – the finest measurements, most thorough exams – with a kind, clear, decisive manner. My husband and I had a complicated pregnancy history and Dr To helped us navigate decisions about testing, scans, and delivery timing so we felt like we both knew what we wanted AND understood why. We also came in with more base knowledge than your average couple and Dr To was happy to use more scientific terminology, rather than sanitise or overly 'translate' anything.

Dr Joel Newman

Dr Newman was very thorough and reassuring during the in-person assessment and follow up consultation. He took time to explain complex information in a way easy to understand. I highly recommend him. However there was a lack of clarity between my insurance provider and Dr Newman’s admin team about the excess due, which only became clearly until after the event. I was chased aggressively with late payment fees added. This aspect of the service could be improved to be more transparent up front.

Every one I met at the Princess Grace Hospital was most pleasant and attentive from the reception staff to the nursing staff. All of the nurses I met from the initial welcome on the 5th floor on 19/11/25 to both Halima and Fernanda who looked after me during the night and day were all especially kind to me. there were many others but unfortunately I did not write down their names. I think it would be difficult to think of a better place to be a patient.

From the initial consultation through to post operative appointments he explained everything in a clear , concise manner in a way that was easily understood. Mr Sethi diagnosed my subchondral insufficiency fracture of the knee and treated me for 3 months until it was successfully resolved. Mr Sethi was very thorough in his investigations, professional with a pleasant manner, understanding, knowledgable and reassuring. He was very easy to contact if needed. He quickly followed up appointments with consultation letters that reaffirmed the Issues discussed and actions to be taken.

Mr Dinah listened to my concerns and explained the condition of my joint, pointing them out in detail on the x-ray. He looked after me before and after surgery, asking questions about how my post-operative was going. During the last visit to the consultation room he made sure that I was satisfied with the outcome of surgery. I am recommending Mr Dinah to my friends who are considering a hip or knee procedure.

If you are hard of hearing it can be hard to hear your appointment being called due to the layout of the waiting room (some chairs facing away, some around the corner but I need to sit due to health issues so had no choice in my seat), but staff were polite and toilet/waiting area was very clean.
