Mr Gleeson did a reconstruction ACL surgery on my left knee (previous ACL surgery was 12 years ago, and then re-tore that same ACL rock climbing). All my options, pros/cons, and risks were clearly explained, and it was clear that Mr Gleeson wanted what was best for me. I chose to have the reconstruction surgery, and felt safe and informed throughout the whole process. While I'm sure this is unique to my own circumstances, I found that: the pain post-surgery was very minimal when managed with medication, and my recovery was smooth and fast. As I write this review about 7 months later, I am back to cycling, running, and hiking. I wanted to regain functionality to live an active life (I'm no star athlete, but in my mid-30s and enjoy the outdoors). The muscle mass on my left side is still not quite a match for my right side, and I know a dedication to physical therapy/training could fix this. My goal was to get back to the level of being able to enjoy moderate activities that I was at before, and I have achieved that, thanks to Mr Gleeson, and my lovely physical therapist!

Very surprised to see a member of the 3rd floor reception staff talking on speaker phone to another member of staff about a patient oblivious to any privacy considerations. The conversation was only made inaudible to everyone in the waiting area when another staff member picked up the phone receiver and held it to the ear of the staff member who had previously been "hands-free". Later a staff member (possibly the same "hands-free" one) was very curt and unhelpful when asked where payments could be made. His reply of "downstairs" was not helpful when you're on the 3rd floor. Do you mean the 2nd, 1st or Ground floor? A refresher course in patient interaction would be helpful for him I think!

From the minute I arrived for my operation I was looked after by friendly professional staff. I was desperate to have the operation to replace my hip as I had been suffering for months due to misdiagnosis by my GP. From seeing a consultant privately the waiting time was 5 weeks, which was amazing. I had a spinal block & was asleep throughout the operation. The post operative care was excellent & pain relief was discussed with me until I was happy with the medication prescribed. The support from the physio department enabled me to go home with confidence. For anyone who is suffering like I was, I can wholeheartedly recommend Barlborough Hospital.

I arrived on time at 10.55 for an 11 am appointment and 40 mins later than my appointment I asked if Mr Patel was running late. Staff checked and came back to me saying it was a 40 mins delay and I was next. It's really noisy in the waiting area so I felt I needed to pay attention for my consultant to call my name. Could you have an electronic board to help visually with who is next and for information about running late etc. I had another appointment so I was pretty stressed about getting to it. I also was wanting a drink from the cafe but felt I needed to stay out in case I was called.

My recent visit to Optegra Eye Hospital Manchester for lens replacement surgery was excellent. There was no waiting time and all the Staff were extremely helpful and reassuring to help me stay calm prior to my operation. Post operation the Staff gave me all the eye drops needed and detailed instructions on how to proceed over the coming weeks. I was also given all contact numbers in case I had any questions or worries.

Dr Tuthill has been very clear about the state of my disease and the treatments he has applied. Fortunately I have responded very well to the treatment adopted and I have finshed the chemotherapy course. I continue to explore with Dr Tuthill whether any radiotherapy is recommended. I am also going to have a bone scan to determine if there are signs of osteopenia which need to be addressed.

Extremely happy with my experience at this clinic. Had a very painful tendinopathy which has now fully healed. I was given a detailed assessment, followed by targeted exercises with 1-1 PT, soft tissue massage and a course of shockwave therapy. I am not in pain any more and I keep doing the prescribed exercises to strengthen the muscle to avoid further issues.
