My operation was incredibly text book . The whole team , headed by mr Ashmore took great care of me . Felt completely informed and cared for . Now my op has turned out to be a dream , and I’m well on the way to recovery. Honestly pain was minimal, if you follow instructions and keep yourself drugged up for the 1st 2 weeks . (with pain killers). By week 3 I stopped all pain drugs including paracetamol. So the operation was 1st class. I’m told I’m lucky, absolutely no complications so my op has appeared to be so boringly straightforward , but I know I’ve been lucky . If you are able to do as many exercises as you can before the op . It will help your recovery. Oh and finally, I didn’t realise how big an operation a hip replacement is . It’s dramatic for your body , and even if you are fit it’s at least a six month recovery . If you can afford it , come to the ridgeway , I recommend me Ashmore obviously , come open eyed it’s a big op .
Hospital excellent, consultant & staff very caring. Meals well prepared, good menu choices. Recovery team patient, friendly. Would recommend a patient having an epidural is equipped with absorbent disposable pants immediately after their op(ie in recovery). I felt humiliated to find I had unknowingly saturated the bedding back on ward & it had to be changed. Physio excellent too. Now pain free. A.1. Experience.
Mr Ashmore has done a brilliant job of my hip revision which was giving me a lot of pain. Six weeks into recovery and I am already feeling the benefits of having the operation. I highly recommend Mr Ashmore. All my questions were answered and he totally made me feel at ease
Mr Ashmore’s easy manner and professionalism ensured I felt relaxed and confident about the whole experience.
The pre op , operation and follow up went smoothly. Pleased with the result, very happy with Mr Ashmore’s consultations and surgery.
Professional friendly and informative with clear answers to any questions.
Highly experienced consultant, who explained everything clearly in a friendly and professional manner. Replaced my hip 6 weeks previously, and operation is a complete success, and I know what to do over the coming weeks and months to ensure proper healing.
Excellent surgeon and fantastic colleague. Mr Ashmore looks after all his patients with the up most care in both the NHS and private sector.
