The team at One Stop Healthcare in Hemel Hempstead were very friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. I had a clean, tidy private room, which made the experience much more comfortable. The two ladies who handled my general anaesthetic were excellent and really helped put me at ease as I was quite nervous. Post surgery, the physio who showed me how to use my crutches and explained my recovery was lovely. My only criticism was the inconsistency around my sick note - my surgeon signed me off for 6 weeks, but a nurse was unhelpful and stated they only do 4 weeks and that I would need to see my GP to extend it! This felt unnecessary given this was my agreed recovery time. My surgeon did step in to resolve this. I did appreciate the follow up call a week after surgery to check how I was doing, which was a nice touch overall.

After many months of difficulties prompted by the sudden loss of my husband, I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Communication with Kernow Psychiatry has been very responsive and I booked an initial appointment to discuss my mental health difficulties. Dr Reid welcomed me into a comfortable room at the wellness hub, she immediately put me at ease and took care make sure I was settled and ready to start. After the hour, Dr Reid summarised what she saw as the key priorities to getting me back on an even keel, suggesting a clear approach to addressing my intersecting issues. I am looking forward to my follow up appointment and the start of my recovery treatment plan. I only wish I’d followed my instincts sooner and booked in months ago.

Dr Selva Theivacumar was professional and helpful from the beginning when consulting me on my varicose veins. He gave an excellent recommendation on what was possible and necessary in a tailored treatment plan to achieve my desired outcome. The team and him always made sure I was comfortable and clear with each stage, along with being friendly, knowledgeable and vigilant in the lead upto the procedure which helped put my nerves at ease. In the after care I was well looked after and given instructions on how to look after myself at home along with any limitations. Nick from Physio Jack Studios was really great. I had what I thought was a typical calf strain but all the standard treatments from another physio did not heal it. 4 weeks out from a marathon, I was unable to run 1km without pain. Nick went through a very thorough diagnostic appointment, corrected my diagnosis to an overloading issue at a specific calf/achilles muscle complex and guided me through multiple plyometric exercises and a progressive running plan to allow me to finish the marathon in 3hrs 40mins. Could not recommend him highly enough, super knowledgeable, detailed and passionate 👍

I visited twice due to a stiffness in my neck. Rey was exceptionally friendly from the start and I felt I was listened to and he understood the issues I had been experiencing. I was very happy with the treatment feeling a notable difference minutes after the first session. They really do give good customer service and will not try to add extra, unnecessary sessions to get more money - my treatment lasted two sessions, and I was told to listen to my body and get back in contact if and when I need to. I will definitely be going back, even if it’s just for a quick readjustment.

The therapists and dietitians are very passionate about helping patients and clearly have a genuine desire to help people. The group therapy sessions and the structure of the day was very helpful in helping my recovery. When I first came I was a bit confused about a lot of things and maybe communication in terms of meals and rules etc could be better explained in a more compassionate manner. The other patients and staff are the most wonderful lovely people and I am so grateful to have met them.

I recently visited AURA for a routine examination and dental hygiene appointment. The team conveniently scheduled both so I could have everything done in a single visit. Dental hygienist Marta provided a thorough yet gentle clean and polish, along with helpful advice on maintaining good tooth and gum health. Dr Nadine Skipp is extremely knowledgeable and skilled, but also very kind, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Everyone at AURA was friendly, professional, and welcoming.

Transfered to Clarytin after disappointing time with NHS awaiting time for appointment for cataract removal. Very pleased with Clarity who saw me very shortly after referral and operated on a week later. I was going to wait for the next operation on the NHS on the 4th February but when that was moved to sometime in April, I took the next available appt on January 20th for a private operation. Both private experiences have been a pleasure and very good.

One thing I feel strongly is that I was not prepared for the level of pain or the duration of. I spent 15 weeks in agony only controlled by drugs . After 15 weeks the pain suddenly stopped and I have been pain free with a knee that is better than the original . I imagine if I was told I should expect 15 weeks of agony it may have changed my mind about having the operation . I am now delighted with the result !
