He completed his PhD at Imperial College London under Professor Elias Mossialos (LSE) and Lord Ara Darzi (Imperial), where his thesis, “Low Value Care in General Surgery,” developed strategies to identify and reduce low-value surgical interventions. His research, published in the British Journal of Surgery, has shaped national and international policy discussions, including invited presentations at NHS England/NICE, the Dubai Health Authority, and HTAi.

Dr. Malik’s work includes major industry collaborations, such as a €100,000 Sanofi project via LSE Consulting, and has been widely covered by leading media outlets. He continues to drive impact through publications, consultancy, and contributions to books on healthcare financing and reform.
