During my recent experience at Cleveland Clinic London, I was under the care of Professor James Teo and Dr. Dipesh Patel for my diagnosis of myelitis. I’d like to share a review of the care, diagnosis, and treatment I received during my short inpatient stay and subsequent outpatient follow-up. Diagnosis: The professionalism and expertise of both Professor Teo and Dr. Patel were evident. They took the time to thoroughly review my medical history, listen attentively to my symptoms, and conduct a series of comprehensive tests. The diagnostic process was meticulous, involving advanced imaging and laboratory analyses, all explained clearly, which left me feeling confident about my care. I was admitted as an inpatient for a couple of days, and my stay was exceptionally comfortable and reassuring. The modern hospital environment and top-notch facilities contributed to a positive experience. The nursing staff was attentive and highly trained, providing outstanding care around the clock. I appreciated their responsiveness to my needs, ensuring I felt comfortable during my brief stay. Daily visits from Professor Teo and Dr. Patel allowed me to discuss my progress and any concerns I had, reinforcing my sense of being valued and cared for. Following my inpatient stay I transitioned smoothly into outpatient care. My follow-up appointments have been invaluable, with thorough evaluations of my ongoing recovery. The clinic’s proactive communication, including test results, appointment reminders and prompt responses to my queries, has greatly supported my journey. They also provided me with educational resources to help manage my condition effectively. In conclusion, my experience at Cleveland Clinic London, particularly under the care of Professor Teo and Dr. Patel, has been exemplary. Moorfields truly deserves its reputation as the best eye hospital in the world. Mr Pal is an exceptional surgeon,highly knowledgeable, calm, polite, and genuinely caring. I have been living with diabetic retinopathy for a long time, and the fear of losing my sight has been constant. Thanks to Mr Pal’s expertise and treatment, my vision is now stable, and I feel reassured that my eyesight is safe. I am also deeply grateful to the entire team who supported me throughout this journey. Mr Pal’s secretary was wonderful, and the lady I spoke to on the phone took the time to explain every step clearly and patiently. She followed up with a detailed yet easy-to-understand email outlining the treatment and costs, which made a very daunting situation much easier to manage. The nursing staff were equally outstanding—kind, attentive, and reassuring at every stage. While the treatment is expensive, it is absolutely worth it when it comes to preserving your eyesight. After living in fear for so long, this care has given me peace of mind and hope again. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Mr Pal. I discovered him purely by chance through an acquaintance, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Moorfields Eye Hospital and Mr Pal to anyone. I have recently had a hysterectomy performed by Professor Bunkheila. The operation was a great success and I cannot thank the Professor enough for his compassion and care from my initial appointment through to the post op consultation. Professor Bunkheila was the nicest gentleman to deal with, listened to all my concerns and was reassuring and professional when discussing all the pros and cons to having such a procedure. His kind, caring manner made me feel so comfortable and after many years of extreme pain and debilitating medical conditions, I felt finally that someone was actually listening to me and could make a difference. I was very poorly at my initial consultation and now feel 100% recovered and it has been truly life changing. Professor Bunkheila and his medical team of anaesthetists were wonderful on the two occasions of my surgery as I was very nervous, but both times they were so reassuring. All the staff were very kind and efficient, my personal ward room was clean and the catering was very good. I would also like to thank a particular gentleman called Anil who performed my pre operative assessment blood tests, I am very needle phobic and was terrified but he ensured that it was done swiftly and with such kindness towards me, I was so grateful.

After enduring increasing pain in my left knee over a period of 15+ months with associated sleep deprivation I consulted Mr Winston Kim, who, after investigation, confirmed that the issue was more than likely with my badly arthritic left hip, which could impact the knee with resultant pain. I consequently had a full left hip replacement carried out by Mr Kim at the beginning of August. The pre and post operative process was very well organised and the surgery was undertaken extremely professionally. Mr Kim was very empathetic and understanding, explaining what would happen during and after surgery. He rang my family as soon as I was in recovery to reassure them that all had gone well. I was encouraged to stand up out of bed in the evening following surgery and was discharged with very little pain after only two nights in hospital. Five months after surgery, with support from the physiotherapy team, I am now able to walk without any mobility aids. I am extremely grateful to Mr Kim for resolving my issue and for his reassurance and guidance during post operative reviews. I would highly recommend Mr Kim and his team.

He reviewed my Mother’s OCT scan and made the decision that she didn’t need an injection at this time and that he would see her again in April to review her condition. He fully explained his rationale for this decision. My Mother has been a patient of Professor Ayliffe since 2018 when he diagnosed her with macular degeneration. During this time, we have been totally satisfied with treatment my Mother has received from Professor Ayliffe. He has always been very caring towards my Mother and has always fully explained any treatment he has given. Both my Mother and I have total confidence in his treatment of her.

The assessment was very thorough but efficient at the same time. The team on-site put me at ease, demonstrated confidence in their abilities and ensured I understood the problem and potential next steps. The practical next steps (eg costs, timescale and dates) were not the focus of this appointment and therefore, at no point did I feel a pressure to commit. The focus was more on the calibre of staff who would manage my next procedure and we also discussed any medical concerns I had.
