Caledonian Psychiatry is a specialist independent psychiatric practice led by Dr David Crocker, offering a highly personalised approach to mental healthcare. Built around the principles of continuity, trust and consistency, the practice provides patients with the reassurance of seeing the same psychiatrist throughout every stage of their care. From initial assessment and diagnosis through to follow-up appointments, treatment planning and report writing, all aspects of care are delivered personally by Dr Crocker.
The practice is founded on the belief that effective psychiatric care is strengthened by a consistent therapeutic relationship. By maintaining continuity throughout the patient journey, Caledonian Psychiatry aims to provide a deeper understanding of each individual's circumstances, allowing care to be tailored thoughtfully and safely over time.
Based at The Lighthouse in North Berwick, East Lothian, the practice delivers all appointments via secure video consultations from a dedicated clinical environment. This flexible approach enables patients to access specialist psychiatric care from the comfort and privacy of their own surroundings, without the inconvenience of travel or disruption to their daily routine.
As Scotland’s first independent medical agency to be regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland, Caledonian Psychiatry is committed to delivering high standards of care. The practice welcomes adults from all backgrounds, identities and neurotypes and provides accessible psychiatric services to patients residing throughout Scotland and the wider UK.

Dr Crocker is easy to chat to and flexible around my needs as a patient, I'd highly recommend him to anybody
Appointments are easy to schedule without long wait times. Appointment reminders are a really helpful addition. A very thorough assessment is always conducted but I am always made to feel at ease, listened too and my experiences and feelings validated. A simple process throughout.
I felt listened to and understood from my very first appointment. The assessment was thorough and everything was explained really clearly, helping me to understand myself much better. Throughout medication titration, I have felt completely involved in decisions about my care and have never felt rushed or misunderstood. Dr Crocker is friendly, knowledgeable and approachable, allowing me to feel comfortable asking questions and describing personal events and emotions. The treatment has made a significant difference to my day-to-day life, and I am incredibly grateful for the care and support I have received.
I’m in my 60s and was initially hesitant about pursuing an ADHD assessment, but Dr. Crocker immediately put me at ease with his calm and supportive approach. Throughout the diagnostic process and subsequent treatment, he has been professional, understanding, and always willing to take the time to find the best path forward. The diagnosis and treatment have had a hugely positive impact on my daily life, helping me overcome challenges I had struggled with for many years. I would highly recommend Dr. Crocker to anyone considering an ADHD assessment or treatment, whatever their age.
Review of my medication and overall wellbeing. Dr Crocker made me cry twice (but I promise it was in a good way). I always feel understood and like he genuinely cares about my wellbeing so even though I’m always a little anxious prior to the appointments he puts me at ease really quickly.
Easy to book, reliable, and smooth service. The costs for assessments, follow-ups, and prescriptions are reasonable. Would highly recommend — especially if you’re at the stage I was a few months ago, trying to find the right practice or psychiatrist.
I cannot recommend Dr Crocker highly enough. Their approach to ADHD care is both evidence-based and deeply human — they treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Medication management has been handled with real care and patience, adjusting as needed rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Outstanding.
It was a pleasure meeting with Dr Crocker, who facilitated an environment where I felt comfortable discussing issues related to my physical, social, mental, and emotional wellbeing within the context of my neurodivergence
Dr David Crocker has been a tremendous help to me and always makes sure questions are answered and gives me space to voice any concerns
Caledonian Psychiatry provide an extremely supportive, compassionate and efficient service from start to finish. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
