Dr Chloe’s caring personality shone through from my first consultation at Kingston Hospital on the NHS in August. I had been diagnosed with invasive lobular cancer in my left breast after a routine mammogram in May. Quite a shock, to say the least! Dr Chloe proved to be not only caring but incredibly thorough & professional. She immediately scheduled an MRI as my lesion had not shown up on the ultrasound. In the whirlwind of appointments which followed I felt completely supported by Dr Chloe & her team, my wonderful MacMillan nurse Janeetta Thomas & nurse Catherine Ronayne.. Both Janeetta & Catherine provided a reassuring presence during my consultations & Janeetta was always available to answer my many questions. Thankfully no other cancers were found and I could proceed to surgery. A short time later a smiling Chloe, Janeetta & Catherine delivered the results, the very best news, that the surgery had been successful & the cancer had been removed with clear wide margins. Despite the lesion being situated deep within my chest, Dr Chloe took the extra care to ensure I wouldn’t have a scar on my chest. I can still wear low cut dresses. I have a small scar next to my nipple which is healing very well. My husband and I are eternally grateful to Dr Chloe & her team.

I was at St Josephs for a repair to the rotator cuff of my right shoulder. Admission was at 11:00 hrs and I was shown to a private room with ensuite bathroom, bed, easy chair and TV with Internet and Sky access. A nurse took a set of observations and both the surgeon and anaesthetist came in to discuss my surgery and confirm my consent. At 12:00 I walked in gown and slippers to the operating theatre and once on the operating table I was connected to various monitors. A pre med drug was injected via a canula on the back of my right hand. At 13:00hrs I woke up in the recovery room with the operation complete. After a short while my bed was wheeled back to my room. Further sets of observations were taken and later I was given my choice of post op snack and coffee. A physio came to see me and gave me a sheet of recommended exercises. At 19:00 my daughter arrived to take me home. I was happy with all aspects of the day.

I was very pleased to find out about this clinic and have it so local to me, I found out through a Raynaud's Facebook group. I was able to self refer. I am an NHS nurse with experience in vascular and tissue viability but felt like I still had some questions as I had gone through an acute episode last weather resulting in requiring interventions. I felt I had some questions that wasn't really getting explained to me from my rheumatologist and also the tests were not available on my nhs appointments/trust, so it helped give me a picture of how severe my Raynaud's was and advice for next steps. I have both Raynaud's and Sjogren's. I found both Louise and Dr Howell very knowledgeable and thorough, they took time to listen and explain. I felt supported throughout the appointment. I left much more informed and reassured. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone dealing with Raynaud's.

I first saw Mr Wronka to discuss the best way forward for severe hip pain. He explained my x-ray in great detail, making sure I understood all he had to say. It was obvious after this consultation I needed a hip replacement and I had this a few weeks later. Through the whole treatment from the initial consultation to the 6 week follow up after surgery Mr Wronka kept me informed of exactly what to expect, what I could and couldn’t do and if I had any questions I was only to ask. I would highly recommend Mr Wronka. I found him professional, polite and willing to explain anything in terms that I could understand. If I have any questions going forward I know I will be able to contact him and get good, sound advice.

Staff all good, but I had been given inaccurate info before the appt and didn’t wear contact lenses for 2 weeks beforehand altho this was unnecessary as all measurements had already been taken. I then had to wait over an hour to be seen, longer than for the NHS appt. When I mentioned the long wait I was told this was because everyone had wanted a long discussion as they were private appts! Surely this is to be expected and the solution is not to overbook appts. I can’t comment yet on the procedure as haven’t had it yet.

The staff were so friendly and supportive, they were very attentive throughout the whole experience from discussing each step before hand and through the process. Through the procedure my partner was informed and had updates from the staff. Recovery advice was also excellent and was explained very well, which gave me and my partner confidence to go home. Absolutely brilliant, from the moment i had the pre-op all the staff from the reception right upto and including the surgeon Mr phaltankar are great - they put you at ease the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out and considering I had a full knee replacement I didn’t think I would walking so well even with crutches and after four weeks I didn’t need them the procedure was that good. My thanks to all the staff at highfield hospital and a special thanks to Mr phaltankar who gave me my mobility back.

I found the admin staff very friendly and helpful in answering my questions, and the two people who assessed me were also very friendly and did their utmost to make me feel comfortable and reassure me. The report is clear and thorough - the only thing is that it took 3-4 weeks longer to arrive than the original estimated time and while I understand that the team is very busy I would have really appreciated a note to say that there would be a delay and roughly how long it might be.

My appointment was a scheduled telephone call. Professor Ullah had read my medical history and clearly detailed options for the next stage of treatment. He responded to my questions and passed on the Cadiology help line number for further details and answers to any further question. He will copy me the letter he will send to my GP. The discussion was not rushed and I will now review the options and determine my preferred option.

The visit on the day was good. However communication/admin beforehand was rather confused. Incorrect mention of the need for a perioperational assessment, incorrect date in one email. In addition a completed registration firm was requested yesterday (2 days after the operation) when one had already been provided on the day of the operation.

I struggled to get an appointment at my doctor’s surgery, but I was able to get an appointment with Dr Colvin at the Candover Clinic the next day. I was very happy with the service I received. Dr Colvin took time to listen to my concerns and I didn’t feel at all rushed. She has prescribed some medication, which will hopefully help.
