Mr Hemang Mehta is a Consultant Shoulder & Upper Limb Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing at St Joseph's Hospital (Newport) and Spire Hospital (Cardiff). Mr Mehta specialises in keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery, minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder and elbow, and shoulder replacements, as well as general orthopaedics and general upper limb trauma. He brings his broad experience and expertise in trauma & orthopaedic surgery to his private orthopaedic practice.

Mr Mehta's shoulder & upper limb surgery uses advanced arthroscopic methods he developed during clinical visits to leading centers in the UK and Europe, and on his fellowships to Addenbrookes Hospital (Cambridge, UK) and New York University (NYU) Hospital (New York, USA). Mr Mehta has an extensive Shoulder surgery practice treating sports injuries and arthritis, with his special interests including shoulder dislocations, frozen shoulders, rotator cuff disorders, and shoulder replacements. His specialist Elbow practice includes arthroscopic joint release surgery, debridement of arthritic joints, tennis or golfer's elbow surgery, replacement of the radial head, and complex elbow trauma. He also carries out knee replacements and keyhole surgery involving the knee and meniscus. 

Mr Mehta is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon at Aneurin Bevan Health Board in South Wales, working at The Grange University Hospital, Nevill Hall Hopital, and Royal Gwent Hospitals. He is a member of the British Shoulder & Elbow Society and also the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition to his surgical qualifications, he is actively engaged in teaching medical students and junior surgeons, both nationally and internationally. He is a faculty member for AO International Trauma Courses and a Royal College of Surgeons trainer for the Orthopaedic Skills Course. He has also published several papers in international journals and keeps his knowledge up to date by regularly attending courses and conferences across the world.
