At 50 years old I wondered whether the operation was worth while and considered whether to go through with the process. However, after meeting Mr Farrar and getting a clear understanding of the procedure and the recovery period I decided to go ahead. The procedure took place in June and I was back cycling and exercising in September. The first 6 weeks of recovery are a bit tedious, and this was clearly explained to me. Was overnight stay at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, all staff were very polite and courteous to myself and the other 5 people within the ward during my stay. The team were very attentive to each individuals needs, which made for a pleasant stay. Facilities were clean and if any ‘accidents’ occurred then these were addressed immediately to promote cleanliness in the ward
