About Dr James Teo
Professor James Teo is a Consultant Neurologist, with interest in stroke and Parkinson's disease. Other specialist areas include headache and facial pain, brain haemorrhage, movement disorders, spasticity and deep brain stimulation. His NHS base is King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust/Princess Royal University Hospital and he also sees patients privately, including at Wellington Hospital and The Shard.
Dr Teo's undergraduate training was at the University of Oxford and the Royal Free Medical School, with postgraduate training at Addenbrookes in Cambridge, the Royal Marsden, Charing Cross, St Mary's and University College London Hospital. Dr Teo also holds a PhD in Clinical Neurology from the UCL Institute of Neurology. He has written over 100 peer-reviewed academic papers and his submission to the Michael J Fox Parkinson's Data Challenge on the use of smartphones in Parkinson's Disease was awarded and Honorable Mention.
He is Chief Medical Officer of the London AI Centre, Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer for CogStack AI. He leads many AI and health data initiatives across UK, and is a member of the UK Department of Health AI Advisory group, member of the NHS 10 Year Plan Technology Working Group and Confidentiality Advisory Group.
