Mr Kavan Johal

Mr Kavan Johal is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with extensive experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He practises at London Bridge Hospital, The Princess Grace Hospital, The Harley Street Clinic, HCA UK at The Shard, and the Women’s Health Centre, all of which are part of HCA Healthcare UK, as well as at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital.

He graduated with first-class honours from the University of Nottingham in 2009 and went on to complete plastic surgery training at leading teaching hospitals across London. He subsequently undertook advanced fellowships in aesthetic surgery at the Wellington Hospital, and in microsurgery and lymphoedema in Taiwan and Korea, supported by awards from the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).

Mr Johal is a substantive consultant at the St Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery in Essex, where his work encompasses all aspects of breast surgery, with particular expertise in reconstruction using microsurgical free flaps such as DIEP and TUG, as well as implants. His clinical interests include breast augmentation, reduction, correction of congenital or acquired breast asymmetry, complex revisional procedures, and gynaecomastia surgery. He also provides skin surgery for benign and malignant conditions, including complex skin cancer reconstruction. In addition, he performs a broad range of body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty, thigh lift, brachioplasty and liposuction, as well as facial aesthetic surgery and rejuvenation including facelifts, blepharoplasty and non-surgical interventions.

He has a strong commitment to teaching, training and innovation. His postgraduate higher degree, supported by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and the Healing Foundation, contributed to his active role in academic research. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed scientific journals, authored book chapters, and presented at international meetings. His interests also extend to lymphoedema surgery, complex wound management, trauma reconstruction, and international patient care.
