The security and reception staff were absolutely wonderful - welcoming, professional, and efficient. When I went up to the 3rd-floor neurology department, there weren’t very clear directions on where to check in, but I eventually found the desk (ironically, not the easiest task for someone visiting a neurologist!). After checking in, I was seen quite promptly. The neurologist herself came out to collect me - something I didn’t realise until we were already in her office, as she hadn’t introduced herself. I think my presence uneased her and I even commented that I thought she was the porter, as that’s what I had seen with other patients being escorted in. Unfortunately, the appointment itself was disappointing. The neurologist came across as very judgmental and accusatory, suggesting that my symptoms were exaggerated or imagined, despite my clear explanations and the observations of my colleagues, doctors, specialists, and family who have witnessed my neurological decline. When she asked about my profession, she seemed skeptical that I could perform my job without issues, which was uncomfortable and disheartening. I have a follow-up appointment with a neuropsychiatrist, but honestly, I’m not looking forward to it. I can only hope they’ll be more open-minded and empathetic.

Professor Amitava Banerjee

I recently visited Professor Banerjee for an assessment at UCLH after a Holter Monitor showed areas worthy of further discussion. I was reassured by his knowledge of my history and why I was there - ie he had thoroughly read my notes, and then wanted to hear my recollection of what had happened - and asked questions throughout to gain a full picture. His explanations were thorough and he made sure I understood what everything meant - the medical terms and then what these mean in layman terms. I not only felt that he was extremely knowledgeable and professional - but also that he cared. I went in, apprehensive. I left feeling very reassured that whatever the result, I was being looked after by the best person. A minor but not insignificant point is that I was sat in the waiting room as he arrived in the morning. He greeted the team warmly. He then went to get coffee, not before having a friendly chat again with the reception team, asking if he could bring them coffee also. A very nice touch. My feedback relating to this meeting with Professor Banerjee is 100% positive, thank you.

Having already had my right hip successfully replaced by the NHS, when my left hip began to be seriously debilitating and painful I was told that there would be a considerable wait for the operation. Therefore I turned to the private sector. Mr Dehne had excellent reviews and impressive qualifications, so I choose the Practice Plus group Hospital Birmingham where he works. I was well looked after by the team at the hospital, the private room and on suite was very comfortable and clean. My operation went well, first day recovery was difficult due to my very low blood pressure. However this was carefully managed and subsequent recovery was slightly quicker than my previous hip replacement. Now ten weeks after surgery the hip feels strong, pain free and I am able to return to an active life style. Nurse caused me to bruise during a painful blood test. I always have trouble with veins appearing during tests and told the nurse which one tends to work the best; nurse insisted on going for a different one, causing pain and bruising. Nurse also used clumsy and offensive language when talking about another patient: “A man came in the other day - he’s a ‘they’ - he…”. Given that your clinic markets your service extensively to trans and non-binary people, I find it surprising that your staff wouldn’t see a problem with openly and deliberately misgendering a customer. Please do better to avoid making customers like me feel alienated.

I have seen Dr Bodiwala several times and on every occasion his professionalism , medical knowledge and wonderful way of talking to you gave me a feeling of total trust in my medical care . Even when the news was hard to hear the way it was explained to me and the time and manner in which treatments were discussed left me calm and positive about what would happen next but at the same time I had total transparency about my condition and what we needed to look out for . I really would not want to see anyone else , I know I’m in safe hands and the best care I could wish for

I had a consultation and mould made and the experience was very straightforward. I went back after 6 weeks and had my actual chrome guard fitted. It has transformed my sleep and I don’t wake up groggy anymore or snore as loudly as I did. It took a while to get used to but am very happy with it. I’ve been back to the practice to have it tightened and adjusted and they did it without charge and very quickly. Thoroughly recommend anyone with sleeping disorders to try it.

I had a raised spot on my arm which was diagnosed as actinic keratosis- precancerous cells. GP recommend cream but didn’t want to use due to side effects. Dr Gupta was very professional and had a very caring and kind disposition. She used cryotherapy on the area which was only mildly uncomfortable for a few seconds and then checked the rest of my body for me. Thoroughly recommend and have booked my husband for a body check! Thank you ☺️

Dr Brent was very thorough and checked my whole body for other lesions.. he originally suggested surgery but at the de ond appointment I had accidentally removed the top of the lesion so he used cryotherapy for this and also removed another at the same time which wasn’t causing an issue but could possibly in the future. Very helpful and good communication.

However, Dr Ganan was super, and made me feel that he had all the time in the world for me. He rather shrewdly realised that teh clean might be difficult for me and it was postponed. I was feeling a bit under the weather and he had picked up on that.
