Dr James Good consistently receives praise for his professional and clear communication with patients. He provides detailed explanations of complex treatments like Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) and Meridan MRLinac directed radiotherapy, which helps patients feel at ease and confident during their cancer journey. Patients value his extensive knowledge, reassuring manner, and the successful treatment outcomes he achieves, alongside the excellent care provided by his supporting team. His expertise is particularly highlighted across treatments involving chemotherapy and in managing conditions such as pancreatic and bowel cancer.
We approached Dr Good for advice and then treatment of pancreatic cancer with SBRT. From our very first conversation, he put us at ease during what was a difficult time. We found him extremely knowledgeable and welcoming, no question was too much. In particular, we were grateful for his decisive nature and his ability to show initiative and take charge confidently when needed with our treatment plan. We feel we received the best standard of care possible for our Radiotherapy.

Thank you for entrusting me with your care
The Team at Genesis care are fantastic. The facility is great but the people make a not very pleasant time as easy and comfortable as they possibly can. Dr Good himself is very personable and puts you at ease immediately. The service he and his team offer is superb.

Very glad to hear that you had a good experience with us
Dr James Good explained my entire SABR radiotherapy treatment professionally and in detail. He answered all of my many questions and gave me confidence to proceed with my treatment. Trust, within medical professionals over the past 11 years in my breast cancer journey has been absolutely paramount to me. I was apprehensive as this specific type of radiotherapy was an unknown for me, so it was important I was able to see the actual scanning area to put my mind at rest. I suffer terribly with claustrophobia, but the SABR open scanner was completely manageable because there is lots of room around your entire body which helped me feel very relaxed. Again, Dr James Good had reassured me in my appointment that I would not be claustrophobic, so this helped me feel calm and not anxious about my 5 treatments. The radiotherapy team at Little Aston hospital were so kind to me. They put me at complete ease and nothing was too much trouble, even answering my questions! The planning CT scans that were arranged a week before my radiotherapy were very calm and all the medical staff made sure I was as comfortable as possible. When I was having my actual SABR treatments I asked if any of the radiologist could talk to me over the speaker, which they did so kindly and this again helped me so much to feel calm and able to complete the appointments. There is nothing that could have made my treatment go more smoothly and with feeling anxious. The kindness I have been shown throughly my radiotherapy is genuinely appreciated.
Dr Good was very clear about what would be happening. He fully explained any risks and described what would happen. The followup gave me sn insight into what was happening next and what he expected
My recent visit was to discuss my first round of post chemo monitoring. During the last 12 months I have always I found Dr Good to be extremely professional and approachable. Right from our first meeting, I have always felt at home with Dr Good and he has my complete trust and confidence.
My husband was referred to Dr Good approximately 18 months ago and we have greatly appreciated his clear and concise explanations during each subsequent consultation. We have experienced Dr Good's care during the initial shock of a scary diagnosis; many months later when he imparted the news that my husband had not had positive results following treatments; and most recently, when Dr Good shared the amazing news that this latest treatment has been successful. In situations where worry, (or, in fact, dread), and a lack of knowledge automatically reduces a patient's ability to absorb or understand information, it has been a boon to receive bad news and good news in a calm and supportive way. Dr Good allows space for you to gather your thoughts and ask questions and we have now experienced a whole range of emotions within his consultation room whilst feeling safe and supported. It is evident that we were blessed to be the recipients of Dr Good's vast knowledge and experience and I am happy to acknowledge our gratitude for his care here in this review.
Following my last CT scan, Dr Good was able to tell me that my cancer has gone. The therapy which Dr Good recommended has had a very positive effect. Dr Good is always pleasant and matter of fact, which I appreciate. Dr Good is always prompt and often early for appointments. I fine this very welcome and refreshing.
Dr James Good was from my first consultancy with him, an excellent, encouraging and thorough man, of whom I cannot speak more highly.
Excellent experience. Runs to time super helpful staff transport arrangements faultless. A1 experience throughout
James has been brilliant. My recent visit I had the news that I was cancer free from stage 4 so as far as the appointment goes it was a great one. I had a million questions and James went through everything with me and has done throughout my whole journey. I really felt like he took his time with me. The appointment wasn’t rushed at all
James Good is everything you could ever wish for in an oncologist. He is kind, personable, very detailed, cutting-edge in his approach, and able to offer swift treatment (where maybe others cannot). He is truly holistic in his approach - always looking for additional ways to improve the quality of life for patients and helping people to feel more autonomy in their care. For patients and their families who may be in a very dark place in their lives, he is a beacon of light.
