I recently had bilateral cataract surgery. From start to finish the treatment I received was excellent. The patient liaison manager was really helpful, friendly, incredibly supportive and a welcome calming influence. I was amazed by the state of the art optical equipment that was available to ensure that my lenses were perfectly suited to the dimensions of my eyes and my prescription, as well as the care that the technicians took while taking the measurements. The optometrists I saw were caring and informative, ensuring that I knew about the different types of intra ocular lenses available and what I may expect from them. They carried out my eye tests with care and patience. The eye surgeon was incredibly experienced and very skilled, and carried out the procedure very efficiently with great care. Now, six weeks post-surgery, I am very grateful of the care I received and the quality and clarity of my lenses; both aspects easily surpassed all my expectations. I would highly recommend Freedom Vision, Chelmsford to anyone considering cataract surgery.

I had a total hip replacement about 6 months ago after years of pain and stiffness in my hip joint. As I am only in my late 40s I was reluctant to get it replaced at a relatively young age. Since the procedure I have felt like a different person and the pain that I had went immediately after the operation. I have just had a routine 6 month checkup with Mr Malek and the hip has healed nicely. I chose Mr Malek due to his experience with minimal evasive hip surgery and from the initial consultation through to the operation and aftercare I have been highly impressed with the overall process and his work. He is very approchable and helpful and made me feel I was in good hands. Furthermore, there has been little damage to the affected area which has allowed me to recover very quickly. Eventually I will need my other hip replacing and I will be returning to Mr Malek for this procedure to.

Fantastic outcome. I am over the moon as I can now read without the need for glasses and not have to restrict my movements due to anxiety over night driving. I really didn't realise how much the cataract was impacting my life as the effects build gradually over a period of time. I was a little nervous going into surgery but the whole experience was very well and comfortably managed by the entire team. I can honestly say there was no pain. This along with the brilliant results after my first eye operation enabled me to actually look forward to having the 2nd eye done. If you are hesitating about your operation please don't, with my improved eyesight I now feel so much happier, lighter and am looking forward to the years ahead. He takes his time to explain your condition, what you need to do about it, and reassures you completely. He won't be in a rush to get you out of the door! Also, he's very welcoming to anyone accompanying the patient, something I've not seen with other doctors!

Alex provided a detailed analysis of my gait and took a 3D scan of my foot to create orthoses customised to me. He also clearly explained what was going on with my ankle and how it can get better, having done a number of tests to pinpoint the issue. Highly recommend Alex for anyone struggling with a foot-related sports injury.
