About Mr Amit Kumar
Mr Kumar is a Consultant at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and a member of the Greater Manchester and Oswestry Sarcoma Service (GMOSS). He performs hip and knee replacements for osteoarthritis, along with knee arthroscopy for meniscal and cartilage conditions. His special interest is in musculoskeletal oncology in particular soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic bone disease from other cancers.
Mr Kumar completed his medical degree at the Royal Free and University College London medical school in 2003. His specialist post-graduate training in Trauma & Orthopaedics was in the East Midlands (South) T&O rotation.
Mr Kumar subsequently completed fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty and sarcoma in Leicester, Nottingham and the world-renowned Wrightington hospital.
Other medical interests include teaching and training along with research in arthroplasty and sarcoma.

Mr Kumar is an excellent practitioner/ orthopaedic consultant.. I have had numerous appointments, consultations and treatments, with/from him, ncluding two full knee replacements. I have always been impressed by his professionalism, knowledge & courtesy. He listens and always takes on board your opinions. Have complete confidence in him. I can highly recommend.
Mr Kumar explained my condition clearly. My operation was successful and post op I was shown my xrays and the new hip. It was amazing.
Apart from when he was half an hour late to arrive , I have found Mr Kumar very easy to understand as he explained procedure very clearly.
I saw Mr Kumar earlier today at a six week follow up after my recent knee replacement. He went to great lengths to explain all that had taken place and answered all my questions, putting me at total ease.
My visit today went very well thank you to MrAmit Kumar and all his theatre staff for making me feel at ease with my operation thank you all
