Excellent , professional, first class care and support from start to finish by my amazing consultant Mr Farid Ud-Din and all the amazing staff at The Meriden Hospital, Coventry . I had a left total hip replacement and leg length correction on the 8 December 2025 which was under the care of the amazing consultant / surgeon Mr Farid Ud-Din . I went down for surgery in the afternoon and had a spinal injection , this did not hurt in anyway and the care and support I received by the theatre team put me at ease. Once back in my room, the hospital room was excellent , very clean , I received the best care from all involved nursing staff , catering staff , physio team , porters , X-ray team , all the staff were amazing. I left the hospital the following day and was able to walk comfortably with the help of crutches , I made sure I stuck to the advice I was given taking my prescribed medication to control the pain , made sure I done my exercises daily , 3 times a day , this has helped build my strength . After 5 weeks I am now walking around the house without any aids and walking short distances with ease . I would like to sincerely thank Mr Ud-Din for everything he has done for me in giving me my quality of life back , pain free and enjoying life to the full . Thank you to all involved for everything you have done for me , I cannot Thank you enough .

Engagement with Debbie was great always very timely about providing appointment, arranging surgery, sending out letters etc (I see Debbie as being a key extension of the medical service that you provide) I found all of your consultations to be really thorough and well explained and not rushed. I always felt I had sufficient time for questions to be answered in a thorough way. Your letters also explained things in a thorough way that I could easily understand - thank you for that. A few small builds which hopefully will help you build on an excellent service that you currently provide: 1) at my first (and very thorough consultation) you did not have access to my MRI scan you only had access to the report. I question if you had viewed the scan, ahead of the surgery, would you then have had a better view of the issue - would the surgery have been necessary. Although I do appreciate sometimes the saying is treat the patient and not the scan. So I do accept I may be wrong? 2) a minor point your clinics ALWAYS run extremely late. I wonder if appointments should either be extended (as you provide a very thorugh service). Although I suspect the hospitals only allow you so many mins per patient? If that is the case could you consider seeing less patients. I (and I suspect others too) have a really busy job and I found this a little fustrating.

When I read Mr. Keenan’s profile as I was trying to choose a surgeon to replace my arthritic hip, I felt that he was someone who would communicate as well as someone with excellent knowledge and skills to perform my needed operation, and that was confirmed upon meeting him at the initial consultation. He also displayed a quiet confidence and was very approachable at all times, which put me at ease. I was naturally very anxious about having this operation, but I completely trusted in his ability to do an excellent job. He visited me in my room before the operation, and also every day thereafter during my stay, allowing me opportunities to ask any questions that had arisen in my mind, as well as reassuring me of my progress. I had a distance lens inserted on my right eye and Mr. Mazen Tahhan gave me his telephone number and said to call him if I had a problem. I am a keen insect photographer and noticed with the distance lens I could not see my camera screen clearly. I was very worried about the impact on my photography skills and ability to focus on very small insects. About 8 p.m. I sent him a text and he immediately called me. He listened to my worries and when I asked about non NHS lens he sent me a lot of information on these to consider. Next day he called back and after more discussion recommended I stay with an NHS close-up lens and get as much light as possible into the eye. I followed his advice and am very, very pleased with the result and now feel confident I can continue enjoy my rewarding interest in insects. I really appreciated how he understood my concerns and helped me to make the right decision.

I was taken into a room that was obviously not cleaned after the last patient as their clothes were still there. My postop instructions were to stay warm. I was absolutely freezing after surgery because the nurses turned the heat down to suit another patient. I was on the end bed and no one came to check on me for ages so I couldn’t get another blanket. I told the nurses at least three times that I don’t eat dairy. I then had cow’s milk and dairy butter placed in front of me which is offensive. The nurses paid a lot of attention to the person next to me, but rarely checked on me. I felt overlooked. By this point, I just wanted to go home but again they prioritised other patients so I was late to leave.

I have just had private cataract surgery at Newmedica Norwich, it was an exemplary experience, the staff were so welcoming and the surgeon, Mr Anas Injarie fully explained the procedure and delivered an amazing result. I no longer need contact lens, which I have been wearing for 50 years. Two months earlier Newmedica removed the cataract in my other eye under the NHS. That was a wonderful experience , going private for my remaining eye gave me the flexibility of appointment dates and a premium lens for the best possible vision. Staff were friendly and professional. Some additional work required and dentist took me through options for treatment and resulting cost. Dental work was very good and pain free(!). I was also able to voice my concerns about other issues without being rushed and now look forward to sorting out my long term health issues. I was also surprised at the cost of my prescription, not much more than the NHS.
