My observations on Dr Aka Being born in 1943, I am able to remember what it was like to see the doctor in those days. Fortunately, I didn’t have much first hand experience besides having wounds patched up occasionally, notably one laceration of my middle finger, which was sliced open by the rim of a rusty old wheelbarrow wheel which I was trying to divert from flattening my Dad's prize flower bed. The wound went septic. Our doctor gave me a newly introduced bovine based anti-tetanus injection to which I became allergic and swelled me up to resemble the Michelin man. I don't remember the treatment but do recall the concerned manner in which I was nursed back to health from what I understand was a serious condition, by my doctor who visited me at home regularly. As the Dad of four children, medical intervention and advice was necessary from time to time by our family Doctor who also visited us at home when necessary, and was a friend and confidant to us all. Now, with the general increase of population, thus, in the doctor to patient ratio, it is impossible to replicate the old order in general. However, it is refreshing to know that this order still exists and is exemplified by my experience of twice recently being treated by Dr Eka who, with all the resources of modern technology to hand is able to make an accurate diagnosis and prescribe effective treatment, but does this in a cool, friendly and concerned manner in full knowledge of my history, for which I am most grateful.

Since having a cystectomy back in 2023 and being discharged from another hospital, my periods were terribly painful lasting 16+ days causing me a lot pain and some days I felt I was unable to cope, I was often cancelling on plans and having to bin clothing due to the heaviness of my periods. I often felt down due to the pain and felt stuck after being told by another hospital my pain was down to “exam stress” Miss Ghosh believed my pain and investigated with multiple MRI tests, blood tests and ultrasounds I then got diagnosed with Adenomyosis. Miss Ghosh also removed me of the contraceptive patch and changed me over to the mirena coil which has changed my periods. They are now much lighter and do not last any longer than one week and are much more manageable. Miss Ghosh explained thoroughly the benefits of the coil and how if anything changes I can contact her. Thank you Miss Ghosh, you have made a massive impact to me and I am very appreciative. I would highly recommend Miss Ghosh!

Private room badly refurbished from a two bed ward. Very poor heating system so room was cold and because there were three windows to the corridor, it could not be darkened - blinds ineffective. Bathroom newly refurbished but I was surprised there was no Arab douche facility or bidet. It is not acceptable to have to pull individual sheets of very poor quality toilet paper from a wall machine. There were shampoo bottles and body lotion but no soap bottles or dispenser. I know the NHS cannot compete with SJand E or the Wellington but I was dismayed by the standard. Care was good but rushed because of Christmas staffing levels.

The Clinic was a little difficult to find but once there the staff were excellent and very efficient. My appointment was on time and the waiting area was warm and comfortable. The consultant was very helpful and explained everything and answered all my questions. I wasn’t rushed or meant to feel unimportant. The nurse was helpful and reassuring. There had been an administrative problem that I had mentioned to the lady on arrival and that was completely sorted out by the time I left which was extremely efficient. I will have no hesitation on returning for a procedure in the near future. An excellent clinic

Having been terrified to get my cataract done, I did a lot of research and found Ed Casswell in Nuffield in Brighton . From our first meeting I liked Ed, he’s professional, friendly and very experienced! As I hate anything to do with eyes I asked for deep sedation and he was fine for me to have this, which was marvellous as I was completely knocked out during the whole process . Recovery was good and I could see out of my new lens straight after the op . Recovery was smooth and no pain at all . I will need the other eye doing sometime in the future and I will definitely be using Ed .

Yesterday I had a phone call from Mr Yang who came up with a plan for my latest UTI . We had a full and informative discussion. Within 5 mons of his call I had a private prescription emailed to me and within 30 mins I had a phone call from Forbury saying my UTI vaccine was ready for collection. I went to the Forbury and the vaccine was all ready for me complete with cooling pack to keep it cold. During the afternoon I also received a very accurate clinic letter from Mr Yang and copied to my GP. All very speedy and efficient and much appreciated.

I had my surgery at The Park Hospital and my experience was excellent. The hospital was very clean and well maintained, and all of the staff were extremely helpful, caring, and professional throughout my visit. I felt very well looked after from start to finish. The food was good, there were free hot drinks available, and the physiotherapy support was excellent. Overall, it was a really positive experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Park Hospital.

I’ve never liked the NHS GP system. Ten minutes feels rushed and it isn’t suitable for those who want to pro actively look after their health and longevity. Luckily I’ve had a great experience with Ezra / Zenvité. Being able to schedule an appointment online at a time / day suitable for my busy schedule is perfect. I’m also able to get any medication required delivered to my door. Having regular check ins gives me peace of mind that my health is in order.

My experience during my visit for day surgery was very good overall. The nurses and physiotherapist were young but capable. The anaesthetists were very helpful both before and after my operation. The surgeon was brisk and efficient. I was perhaps a little surprised that he didn't come to see me after the operation. The quality of the snack I was offered after the operation was poor: crisps and a sandwich with stodgy bread. Hardly nutritious recovery food!
