I’ve been seeing Hiba Ansari for over a year, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely caring. Over the past year, Hiba has helped me treat several different issues, including my ankle, lower back, and most importantly, a long-standing shoulder dislocation problem. She monitored my progress very closely and consistently adjusted my exercises to suit my ability and recovery stage. I spent several months working with her to strengthen my shoulder, which was extremely weak and unstable after multiple dislocations. Following my shoulder surgery, Hiba played a huge role in my rehabilitation. She guided me through recovery and re-strengthening with great care and precision, helping me return to normal activities and sports with confidence. Thanks to her support, I’m now back to living a normal, active life without constant worry. She was also incredibly supportive with practical matters, helping me navigate insurance issues and sort out payment coverage for my sessions, which made a stressful situation much easier. In addition, Hiba has excellent professional connections and introduced me to one of the top shoulder surgeons in the UK, who performed my operation with excellent results. Hiba is a fantastic physiotherapist — skilled, supportive, and truly invested in her patients’ recovery. I’m very grateful for all her help.

I have had two appointments with Dr John O'Dwyer to date. On each occasion his compassionate, reassuring and attentive manner made me feel relaxed and heard - by listening carefully, asking perceptive questions to fully understand my situation, and by giving me ample time to think before I replied. In turn he responded to my questions with appropriate detail and language for me to fully appreciate the underlying causes of my symptoms. He had remembered me from my initial appointment so I could go straight into the second appointment without the need to recap previous information. Dr O’Dwyer sent his follow up letters in a timely manner which reflected an accurate, complete and articulate summary of our appointments; during the first visit I had asked him to document one of his specific statements, and he had remembered to do so. I have had many interactions with medically trained professionals through both my work as an auditor in clinical trials and of course as a patient, and it was refreshing to have been treated so well and provided with such high quality documentation.

During my first visit, I felt uncomfortable with some of the comments made. A remark was made suggesting I had “gone posh” because of where I now live, which felt inappropriate and unrelated to my care. I was also advised to book a scan “at my own convenience” with enough time to “get a wax,” which did not feel professional or relevant to the medical appointment. At my second visit, I was informed that my blood results showed no signs of menopause, although a low thyroid result may mean I need medication next year. However, I did not receive a clear explanation as to what may currently be causing my symptoms. Remains of a virus I suffered from late year or it was suggested that eating processed or ready-made food could be responsible for my aching joints and muscles. This felt like an assumption rather than a discussion based on my individual circumstances, and I left without a proper understanding of what might be happening or what steps I should take next.

From my initial enquiry about Refractive Lens Replacement surgery, through my surgery and aftercare I have had excellent care from Vision Scotland. Everything was clearly explained and the surgery has left me with the desired result, 20/20 vision with no glasses needed. The only (slight) negative difference here is a greater need for good light when reading at night or close work. The procedure was pain free and I have had no complications. He patiently examined my throat with explanations of each step and responses to my concerns. To ascertain the cause, he also discussed with me some of my eating and drinking habits that could contribute to the symptoms. I left the consultation with a eased mood and confidence in elimininating the symptoms with his diagnosis and prescription.

Parking at the hospital or nearby if the limited onsite space is already full , is a just a matter of luck. The coffee machine in the private lounge was out of order. Dr Phillips was on time, personable, open and explained the various investigation options at the initial consultation. All my questions were thoughtfully answered in clear concise terms. There is probably going to be a 3 week wait between the initial consultation and the recommended investigation action

Mr Srinivasamurthy was kind and reassuring from our first meeting, during a pre-op telephone conversation, and throughout the procedure itself. He outlined what to expect both during and after the procedure and was able to answer my questions sensitively and clearly. He was an excellent listener and is obviously very experienced in his field. I was quite nervous prior to my procedure but he reassured me and I felt like I was in very safe hands. My visit was well run with all preparations going smoothly. Apparently it was rather difficult to waken me after the operation and therefore had to remain overnight. I was told that I would be contacted approximately four weeks after, but this didn’t happen. I would have liked to have been explained the reason for the problem with my awakening as it might be useful should I need a general anaesthetic in the future.
