About Mr Andrei Ilczyszyn
Mr Andrei Ilczyszyn is a highly esteemed Consultant General Surgeon. He specialises in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery. His clinical interests lie in all aspects of metabolic/bariatric (weight loss) surgery. He also specialises in surgery for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and offers anti-reflux and hiatus hernia surgery.
Mr Ilczyszyn is a pioneer in his field, being the first to introduce the LINX magnetic sphincter augmentation device in Gloucestershire. He also possesses extensive experience in benign biliary and gallstone surgery and maintains a keen interest in minimally invasive hernia surgery. In addition to his surgical expertise, Mr Ilczyszyn has clinical interests in oesophageal physiology, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Mr Ilczyszyn studied at St George's Hospital Medical School in London, graduating in 2006. He completed his higher surgical training in North East Thames. Following this, he undertook a two-year fellowship in metabolic bariatric surgery at the Centre for Weight Management and Metabolic Surgery, University College London Hospital.
Mr Ilczyszyn is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of BOMSS, IFSO and AUGIS.

A really good experience - procedure very clearly explained
Mr Ilczyszyn is true gentleman. He was excellent at explaining what was going to happen and how you will feel. He said he would be available should I need to ask anything .
He came to see me before the op, went though everything and checked i was still happy to go ahead. Came and checked in after surgery and the next day.

Throughout my consultation I felt reassured that I was in ‘safe hands’. Despite my symptoms not appearing to be conclusive as to the issue, Mr. Ilczyszyn listened to my explanations and then provided clear options for treatment / moving forward which all made perfect sense.
