Mr. Shergill is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 32 years of experience in the field, currently practicing at Salisbury District Hospital in Wiltshire and privately at New Hall Hospital. He has been an orthopaedic consultant for 25 years, specialising in all routine trauma and orthopaedic problems, with a particular focus on knee and shoulder conditions.

He trained at the Middlesex Hospital Medical School at the University of London, qualifying in 1989, and further completed a surgical rotation at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury before undertaking specialist training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.

Mr. Shergill served as the Head of Service of the Orthopaedic Department at Salisbury for three years, overseeing its day-to-day operations and contributing to the department's growth and development in collaboration with hospital management. He played a key role in expanding the department in terms of both personnel and throughput, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.

In addition to his clinical duties, Mr. Shergill has been actively involved in several hospital committees, including the Medical Workforce Committee, Local Awards Committee, Hospital Transfusion Committee, and Hospital at Night Managerial Board. He also serves as an educational and clinical supervisor to trainee surgeons and is a recognised appraiser for consultant surgeons. Mr. Shergill was the chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at New Hall Hospital and provided orthopaedic services to the Salisbury Rugby Football Club.
