I have been a patient since 2022 and always receive the best care from Dr. Sarkeel and the team at Living Mind. I have been diagnosed with resistant depression disorder and generalised anxiety disorder and had a recent dip on my mental health and requested urgent treatment. Dr. Sarkeel immediately moved my appointment to accommodate my needs to ensure that I had the appropriate care. Not only by being caring and treatment me with the upmost respect, but also by being one of my biggest cheerleaders and celebrating every milestone that achieve. This makes a huge difference finding the right level of support. You need to feel in a safe environment where you can open up as well as feel empowered - that's what you will find at Living Mind. The right balance so you can recover, build your resilience and if something goes wrong you have the right non judgmental environment to keep going, as this a normal part of the journey. Dr. Tilottama Nandy asked all the necessary questions before proceeding with the polyp removal and even made some small talk to help put me at ease, which I appreciated. However, the option of local anaesthesia was not discussed beforehand; though before administering it, she did confirm that it was safe during pregnancy. The preparation for the procedure felt lacking, as the anaesthesia and the scalpel/scissors were not readily available. The nurse had to leave to gather these while the speculum was already inserted, which caused additional discomfort that could have been avoided with better readiness. After the procedure, the doctor ensured that I rested for about 10 minutes and checked that there was no excessive bleeding before discharging me, which I found reassuring.

I have just attended a post op review with my consultant. From receptionist to radiographer ( review xray ) to consultant all staff were welcoming , friendly and empathetic. The time waiting to be seen was minimal and each staff member was efficient and ensured the visit was without issue and all concerns were addressed . Mr Islam, my consultant ,discussed In detail my postop xray and listened to my experience of recovery with interest and empathy - allowing me to tell him anything that had concerned me. My post op recovery status was assessed and encouragement given for further progress with a one year review planned . I left the appointment completely satisfied that I had treated by a person with the highest level of skill and professional attitude.

My surgeon was Shohista Saidkasimova and she was really wonderful. She put me at ease during the initial consultation, extremely interested in all my questions and explaining all items of the surgery in layman’s terms. During the operation she asked what kind of music I liked and supplied this in the background, not intrusively but loud enough to provide an excellent distraction. But what really impressed me was the way she interacted with me personally throughout the operation. I have nothing but praise for this lovely lady and would throughly recommend her.

Dr Riyaz Somani

The wards in the spire hospital are very nice and comfortable. All the staff including the catheters were very helpful, especially the two nurses who took care of me, very caring looked after all my needs. Dr Riyaz Somani has very good bed side manors, he explained the operation procedure very well then he came and saw me again after the operation to let me know how it went with no problems. He then explained what I should do to help with my recovery, then asked me if I had any questions. Very happy with my experience at the spire hospital for Nottingham.

Professor John Axford

I could wax lyrical about Professor John Axford. Before my recent visit, my GP’s had misdiagnosed/mishandled my condition. I was in pain. Not only does Professor Axford have a wonderfully kind way about him but his experience and knowledge meant that, after a brief examination and talking to me, he knew exactly what I was suffering from and how to treat it. He put my mind at ease, explained everything clearly and kindly, and I am already on the path to pain free fitness. I could not recommend him more highly.

I have been very concerned over my eye issues for a while.Certain symptoms have been affecting my quality of sight and life.Dr Chan was clear and concise in what needs to be done to address my eye that has a few issues.I have full confidence in Dr Chan when he completes my surgery.I found Dr Chan to be extremely supportive of what I will expect after surgery. Mr Dani has a relaxed, empathetic style of consultation and this helped to put me at ease. Being high risk due to a family history of cancer, Mr Dani was able to offer advice around preventative measures and a plan for the future. Some of this information has not been readily available and it has been helped me to put a plan into place and some perspective regarding my future risk of breast cancer.

I struggled to get an appointment at my doctor’s surgery, but I was able to get an appointment with Dr Colvin at the Candover Clinic the next day. I was very happy with the service I received. Dr Colvin took time to listen to my concerns and I didn’t feel at all rushed. She has prescribed some medication, which will hopefully help.

I was in severe pain with Osteoarthritis in my right hand. I am 89 years of age but enjoyed playing Bowls and Table Tennis this I could no longer do. Since seeing Mr Karuppaiah and having my operation in June I have been able to resume my activities pain free. I am extremely grateful for his dedication to his profession.

Matthew Ward was polite, put me at ease straight away and explained everything. Although the appointment didn’t take long I wasn’t rushed at all. The camera was uncomfortable as expected but again felt reassured and confident in what was being carried out. Would be very happy to see him again and would recommend.

I returned for a check up and my hip was X-rayed the scar has healed up and all movements are better than expected. Mr Jafri was very pleased and another appointment is scheduled for 4 weeks I am thrilled with the outcome and will continue to do the exercise as required which is key to a successful recovery.
