I had booked an echocardiogram with a female technician, and had taken the day off work to attend, but when I arrived and asked about the female technician (to confirm), I was told that a female was not available, which was extremely disappointing. I had called twice earlier in the day (before travelling to the appointment) to confirm that a female was available, but no one in the echo department answered the phone. Further, I have been attending the Cleveland Clinic since March of last year, when I had a subarachnoid haemorrhage, and had been told that my standing request for a female echocardiogram technician had been recorded in my patient profile. The staff in the imaging department seemed to be surprised that a woman having this test would insist on a female technician, which indicated a lack of sensitivity and training, and they appeared not to know how to handle this situation. So, not only did I waste my time and lose a work day due to this oversight, but I had to cancel my follow-up cardiology consultation, and now cannot take time off work to reschedule until the new year, which has created a very stressful situation for me. In my opinion, the Cleveland Clinic should always have a female echocardiogram technician on duty, for women who are uncomfortable with a male, and the front desk staff needs much better training in this regard.

Dear Team, I would like to provide feedback, as my experience at Harley Street Specialist Hospital has genuinely changed my life. I want to say how incredibly grateful and eternally indebted I am to my surgeon, Mr Luke Cascarini. He has given me a completely new lease of life. He is not only an outstanding surgeon but an exceptional human being, and I cannot thank him enough for the care, precision, and compassion he showed throughout my entire journey. I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to Janet, Dr Bosh, and all the nursing staff, as well as every member of the team right down to the wonderful ladies on reception, including Marianne. There are too many to name individually, but every single person played a role in making this experience extraordinary. The hospital itself does not feel like a hospital at all — it feels more like a health retreat where you leave as a better version of yourself. The environment, the warmth, and the standard of care are truly exceptional. For anyone suffering from sleep apnea, as I was, or dealing with any of the conditions treated by your specialists, I could not recommend HSSH and Mr Luke Cascarini more highly. You have all transformed my life in ways I cannot properly put into words. Thank you, sincerely, for everything. Warm regards, Mr Shefik

Arrived early Saturday morning for a small knee operation. Taken to my room by a lovely friendly porter. Was invited immediately by catering to make a choice of food from an excellent menu. Then seen by nurses, anaesthetist, surgeon, who all explained exactly what was going to happen, in a relaxing manner, giving me complete confidence in their care. I was soon taken to theatre by the lovely chatty nurse & porter, that had been with me from my arrival. They obviously had a happy working relationship, including me in their chat to make me feel more relaxed. The anaesthetist was lovely, chatting about Christmas whilst calmly letting me drift into sleep. I woke up feeling well & refreshed, taken back to my room for a cuppa & delicious sandwich. The nurses continued their careful monitoring of me & I was soon seen by the physiotherapist who explained about the importance of my post-exercise sheet & use of crutches. Then a visit by Mr Slack, my amazing surgeon that had previously done my hip replacement, who explained what he’d done, that all had gone well, discharging me to go home & it’s only early afternoon. My painkillers arrive, my home instruction booklet is completed, I can go home. What fantastic care from all the staff & medical team, many thanks to you all.

Although I'm based in the north of England, under London Prostate Clinic they had been keeping a watching brief on a low level prostate cancer diagnosis and enlarged prostate since 2018. Taking a daily Tamsulosin tablet had been effective until December last year when I had a UTI that made me quite ill. In March this year, another serious UTI caused me to have a catheter fitted at an A+E hospital. My difficulty passing urine had worsened due to the increasing enlargement of the prostate, so after research I decided that the HoLep route of treatment would be the most effective and have the least side effects long term. I discovered Dr. Matthew Liew working out of Spire Manchester hospital and from the first consultation he put my mind at ease with his calm professional manner and good humour. The operation date was arranged within 3 months and was a complete success. I am now back to normal urine flow and complete bladder emptying. My PSA reading has dropped from a high of 11.5 to 5.2. I had 2 post op consultations with Dr. Liew where any questions or concerns were discussed and I am now looking forward to maintaining a normal life, urologically speaking! (age 66).

I highly recommend Miss Masara Laginaf if you are considering any eye surgery. I was apprehensive and nervous when considering Lasek eye surgery, but from the first consultation Ms Laginaf explained the process with such expert knowledge and detail, and was able to answer any questions I had. Most importantly, she was incredibly reassuring and was able to listen and answer all my questions with kindness. From arriving with anxiety about the procedure, I left feeling nothing but excitement! During the surgery, it was clear that Ms Laginaf is highly experienced and an expert in the field. The procedure was done in no time at all, and all the way throughout Ms Laginaf continued to put me at complete ease and reduced any nerves completely. Her entire team were incredibly kind, warm and caring. She was incredibly generous with her time throughout the consultations, procedures and even afterwards where I had follow up questions. If you are thinking about laser eye surgery, then I highly recommend reaching out to Ms Laginaf for a kind, caring and compassionate Opthalmologist, with extensive expertise and knowledge.

Very unorganised, got the bill twice with no explanation. Called and had to speak with 3 people and still no one knew what bill was correct. The Surgent secretary told me to ignore one of the invoices which turned out was wrong. First time I arrived for the consultation I was told that the surgent who I was going to see wasn’t there and they advised me to go home. It turned out he was there and waiting for me. Second time they couldn’t find my file and didn’t know what to do or why I was there. 3rd time lucky you would think, I was told to wait in the waiting room and I did without being told there were two waiting rooms and I was in the wrong room and the surgent called me and wondered if I was on my way. On the positive the surgent and the operation was great but I do wish it was a bit more organised and that the information given to the patients was with a follow up to everyone involved.

After years and years of very compromised life quality, extreme discomfort and pain, I visited Professor Brookes who identified my relatively severe pelvic congestion syndrome, and proceeded to carry out pelvic vein embolisation. Almost immediately I felt like I had been given my life back. No one else had been able to help before him. He has since had to carry out a couple of further embolisations for new problem veins. He has to be one of the best in this field in the country, if not worldwide! The nurses and team he works with are also always lovely and helpful. A super talented doctor who makes you feel instantly at ease, actually listening to the patient, and clearly explaining everything you would need to know in detail. Topped up with a general impeccable bedside manner, warmth, humour and charm. An overall wonderful experience. I couldn’t more highly recommend. Thank you 🙏 again PB!

I recently underwent a total hip replacement surgery performed by Dr Madhusudhan Nannaparaju and I couldn’t be more grateful for the outstanding care and expertise I received. From the initial consultation to post- surgery follow-ups , Mr Nannaparaju demonstrated exceptional professionalism, skill, and compassion. Mr Nannaparaju took the time to explain every detail of the procedure, addressed all my concerns, and ensured I felt fully confident going into surgery. The operation itself was a complete success- my recovery has been smooth, my mobility has greatly improved, and I’m now able to return to activities I hadn’t enjoyed in years! I highly recommend Mr Nannaparaju to anyone considering hip replacement or orthopaedic surgery! He’s not only an exceptional surgeon but also a doctor who truly cares about the well-being of his patients.

I received warm, well informed professional attention throughout my care at St Anthony's Hospital; from outpatients through to discharge. The room was clean, well heated and ventilated, equipment checked and the armchairs comfortable. The unit was quiet. Nursing staff answered call bells promptly and with kindness and a smile. No request was considered a problem. Their level of knowledge and professionalism was excellent along with the standard of care. Physiotherapy care was also excellent and given with respect to my individual needs. Recovery staff were informative and reassuring. Excellent care there too. I include catering staff who also took care in their work. A few glitches with the electronics on the bed and the new bathroom which received prompt attention - the unit has been recently renovated.

My experience has been outstanding. From the first phone call to leaving the thornbury hospital. Hannah the centre manager and Farqi treated me amazingly. I felt safe in the cleanest, calmest environment. The information I received was top notch and I have never experienced such kindness to me. Dr Ibrahim was very kind and I felt that someone was finally listening to me after many months. The staff at the Royal Hallamshire, particularly Nancy and Lisa also went the extra mile and again were very kind. We travelled from East Yorkshire and therefore accommodation was arranged for us by Elaine which was very much appreciated. I WISH THIS MESSAGE TO BE AVAILABLE TO THE HOSPITAL MANAGERS. Janine RN

Dr. Krista Farrell, exemplifies the highest standards of clinical excellence. Her demeanour was consistently warm, respectful, and empathetic. She listened attentively to our concerns regarding our son and promptly arranged all requisite scans, tests, and evaluations. During the subsequent consultation, Dr. Farrell delivered a clear, thorough, and meticulously articulated explanation of the findings, addressing each of our questions with precision and care. We remain profoundly grateful for the exceptional calibre of care she has provided to our son. Andrew was incredibly patient, understanding and clearly addressed my questions and concerns. He made me feel comfortable to be open and honest and the experience has reinstalled a greater sense of faith in healthcare services in general. I suspect I have ADHD and am diagnosed with generalised anxiety and engaging with healthcare services can be very difficult for me but Andrew was genuinely the nicest Dr I have ever been seen by. If all drs where like him I would have no issue engaging with services and being open and honest. His attitude was professional, attentive and understanding and I felt I was able to be myself without stigma or judgement.

Following an accident in my home 8 months ago, I have been in the care of Mr Desai. I have now been discharged. I cannot fault the patience and understanding I have experienced from this dedicated professional individual during that time. From the outset, he always went out of his way to explain clearly everything that would/could be involved with my treatment and recovery, checking I understood and asking if I was happy with what he proposed. I felt like an individual whose recovery mattered to him, not just a number , a name on a list! I am so grateful for his dedication and skill in enabling my recovery.

I was referred by my own dentist as he felt specialist treatment was necessary, following an abscess. Treatment was required urgently as I was due to travel abroad and did not want a repeat of the abscess. Dr Naidoo was able to see me and start root canal treatment before I travelled, describing the treatment in detail so that I could make an informed decision. I was seen on return to this country and treatment was completed. The treatment was painless ad the quality of care was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr Naidoo and Vermilion Kelso

I would very highly recommend the Clayton ward. We have had two babies there and were really well looked after by kind, happy staff (doctors, midwives, assistants, catering and reception) who taught us a huge amount about how to care for a newborn. Having access to 121 support from midwives anytime day or night is just invaluable. The food was very good (for hospital food) and we genuinely looked forward to it each day - it really helped us recover as sleep deprived parents.

Overall it was a calm, professional clinic. Very well organised . Staff seemed happy to be there, and were very helpful. Mr Hughes was a great help, and although probably very busy was willing to spend time to explain everything I needed to know about my diagnosis and the follow up procedures necessary. It was a great experience. Health care as it should be!
