Admin efficiency Things didn't get off to a great start when there seemed to be an issue regarding what my insurance would cover, even though I had received two confirmations from the insurer over the phone and one confirmation by email. I felt a bit like a criminal and that I was lying about the treatment being covered. In the end, the insurer had to phone Practice Plus direct to sort it out, because no-one would believe that I was telling the truth. I've never come across this problem before at the Spire or the Nuffield. Usually the admin trail works very smoothly. Cleanliness The carpet in the waiting area is dirty and is covered in tea/coffee stains. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat in one of the toilets by the waiting area. Not great at all. Waiting Time I am a private patient and I usually use the Spire in Bristol or the Nuffield, which run to time. My appointment for an injection was 30minutes late. Unacceptable. Staff To be fair, some of the staff are lovely. But some of the staff are downright rude. When I went to speak to one of the receptionists after waiting for my appointment for over 20minutes, I simply asked to check that I was on the system. The answer "yes". Oh I said, it's just that I haven't been called yet. Is there a delay? The answer "yes" - and a roll of the eyes to say "yes and your problem with that is??" I have to have another appointment at some point, so let's hope that my next experience is better.

I have received welcoming and reassuring support from each of the departments I have visited within The Cleveland Clinic as an outpatient and as an inpatient for planned surgery. I was welcomed by the nursing staff and by Mr Nathwani on the day of the surgery who explained again the surgical procedure. Post operatively the nursing staff and the physiotherapist gave encouraging information. I appreciated seeing Mr Akhtar, a fellow orthopaedic surgeon, who had supported me in the early months of the trauma and who had referred me to Mr Nathwani for the specific surgical procedure. I appreciated his interest in following my case. In terms of post operative rehabilitation, Mr Nathwani gave me details of a resource which I did not know of but which I researched and which turned out to be invaluable. I was very warmly welcomed by Nathwani for my post-operative appointment recently and was delighted to demonstrate to him the significant progress I have made and the impact it is making to my life. I can't thank than him and also Mr Akhtar enough.

Una is the best dentist you can find in London. She builds a truly personal relationship with her patients because she genuinely cares. From the moment you walk in, you feel safe in her hands. She is incredibly gentle and patient, and if you have any dental anxiety, she makes it completely disappear. She is also my 6-year-old son’s dentist, and she is the only one who has ever managed to get him comfortably into the dental chair with his mouth open. She is absolutely wonderful with children. Una is highly educated, very experienced, and trained to the latest standards. I had been considering eye surgery and attended Cathedral Eye Clinic to get a second opinion, having already spoken with a consultant in Dublin. Putting it simply, my experience in Belfast was far superior. The team at Cathedral ran a more comprehensive range of tests, assigned more time and personnel to my case, and were far better at talking through my options. In particular, I was very pleased that they were willing to give me their honest perspectives based on what they felt was best for me in the long run. Ultimately (based on their guidance), I decided not to go forward with any additional procedure at this time, but should I need treatment further down the line, I will not hesitate to go back to Belfast.

The atmosphere in the clinic was so calming, with soothing music that made me feel so relaxed I nearly drifted off to sleep. I was very pleased with my visit to The Forbury Clinic, and was really impressed with how clean and tidy it was, the receptionist was very pleasant and showed my wife and myself upstairs to the waiting area, it was very nice to meet Alexia, we both thought she was extremely pleasant and was very pleased with her examination of my issue, and look forward to my next meeting with her. It was also very nice to meet with Doctor Savage, a very nice gentleman, very courteous to the both of us ,was very patient and was again ,pleased with his time and advice, Thank you all very much. He explained all my options & what I could expect from the various treatments. I left feeling relieved from my visit & hopefully will not need to return, but if necessary would be quite happy to. May I also say the young lady on reception was very pleasant, even offering us tea or coffee. I would highly recommend this very professional clinic

Mr Taylor has been my son’s ophthalmologist since he was 8 weeks old. He has always given me very clear explanations regarding my son’s vision and the possible complications surrounding it. He’s always kind and compassionate and really listens when I’m explaining what I see at home. My sons vision is particularly complex due to multiple disabilities which makes everything that bit harder, but Mr Taylor always goes above and beyond to do what he can, within the parameters of my sons capability.

Waited about 20min for my appointment with consultant Then during my meeting with him He took a non urgent phone call my appointment that lasted approximately 10-15 mins He discharged me despite me saying I am getting lots of pain that disrupts my sleep and painkillers don’t help! I would have liked to have been referred to physio. But I was not offered it or anything except lift your arm forwards!
