I had spinal decompression after two and a half years of leg weakness and a period of intense pain. I was really lucky to meet Mr. Gul. He had the answers and reassurance straight away. I had been seen by other doctors with varying levels of care and I had become almost resigned that I had lost all the strength in my legs in a very short space of time. I would squat 150kg regularly then all of a sudden I couldn't lift even the bar and I was struggling to get up the stairs. I was worried, anyone would be. For me, the nerves in the spine were being compressed and it was causing this weakness. I had a period of intense pain lasting a couple of weeks. I couldn't walk, I couldn't do anything; I've never been in pain like that. A&E had no idea what to and I was sent away with paracetamol and antibiotics. I left A&E almost on my hands and knees. I met Mr. Gul, some injections were successful but didn’t last, it was clear only surgery was going to fix it. My view on this kind of thing is that if you have a very positive attitude to getting near to as 100% fit as possible, if you have this attitude and you were fit and active before the surgery, you'll recover; quickly too. Mr. Gul sees this from the patients' perspective. He was involved in a car accident and had emergency surgery. His rehabilitation was scheduled for a year and he cut this time frame much shorter through the attitude I’m referring to. I would recommend reading his book which he wrote on this experience, it’ll also give you a measure of the character and quality of the man. Charlotte handles his office, she’ll deal with stuff straight away, a one stop shop for super efficiency. I am incredibly fortunate that Charlotte is there to consider everything. Knowing that when you send her a message, it’s going to get dealt with without any bother has been a wonderful thing. I think that Mr. Gul is lucky to have her and she is lucky that Mr. Gul is so very committed to his work. A brilliant team. Mr Gul and Charlotte, please keep this up for as long as you possibly can. I am immensely grateful for what you’ve done for me.

The cardiac MRI itself was conducted efficiently, but what truly set this experience apart was the time and care taken afterwards to explain the results. My first appointment was arranged within a week. After my appointment I was offered surgery in exactly one more week. Everything was great, lovely facilities, lovely staff. Everyone was very friendly and constantly being offered coffee etc. On every occasion I was taken either on time or early. I was put at ease and everything was fully explained and what the best lenses for me would be, based on my history and interests. On the day of surgery, everything went fine and there was no pain whatsoever, merely a strange feeling as the surgeon did his stuff. Afterwards I was given advice re eye drops and aftercare and again all great. Everything was fine when I got home, merely discomfort and that soon passed. I had plenty of people checking and following up that all was well. Finally, I had a follow up visit after a few weeks and again everything was great and very professional and I was advised to see my optician and GP. Throughout my time, the service I received was first class.

Will has a lovely persona and I felt comfortable and at ease the entire time. I was given plenty of time to ask question and there was definitely no feeling of being either rushed, or pushed into the procedure. The procedure itself was great. I felt no pain and it was over much quicker than I had anticipated. Once home the bruising began but I had no pain at all and no need for any painkillers. Mr Erotocritou is a very friendly consultant, who made me feel very at ease and reassured that he will help me. He was very clear in his explanations and covered all bases in investigating my issues. I didn't feel rushed in the consultants and he actually listened to me and took the time to answer all my questions. I felt he looked at me as a valued person rather than another patient. I am very happy with my consultations and tests taken. Thankfully I do not need further investigations or treatment, but I would definitely go back to Mr Erotocritou if I needed to in the future. He was easy to understand and calm, someone you could tell about your difficulties. I felt very understood and nothing was too difficult to talk about.

The admin side of things was a bit bad. Had the wrong shoulder down for surgery and even though said it would be changed still had the wrong shoulder listed on day of surgery. Unfortunately I am in the process of compiling an official complaint regarding the nurse I had on the day of my surgery, worst nurse I have ever had in my 52 years on Thai earth. Truly awful and needs to be removed from the ward.

When in 2nd floor private area do not expect trappings of luxury or flashy equipment. You do get kindness, attentiveness and skill and efficiency. Came out with problem fixed. No cafe.
