Admin efficiency Things didn't get off to a great start when there seemed to be an issue regarding what my insurance would cover, even though I had received two confirmations from the insurer over the phone and one confirmation by email. I felt a bit like a criminal and that I was lying about the treatment being covered. In the end, the insurer had to phone Practice Plus direct to sort it out, because no-one would believe that I was telling the truth. I've never come across this problem before at the Spire or the Nuffield. Usually the admin trail works very smoothly. Cleanliness The carpet in the waiting area is dirty and is covered in tea/coffee stains. There were pubic hairs on the toilet seat in one of the toilets by the waiting area. Not great at all. Waiting Time I am a private patient and I usually use the Spire in Bristol or the Nuffield, which run to time. My appointment for an injection was 30minutes late. Unacceptable. Staff To be fair, some of the staff are lovely. But some of the staff are downright rude. When I went to speak to one of the receptionists after waiting for my appointment for over 20minutes, I simply asked to check that I was on the system. The answer "yes". Oh I said, it's just that I haven't been called yet. Is there a delay? The answer "yes" - and a roll of the eyes to say "yes and your problem with that is??" I have to have another appointment at some point, so let's hope that my next experience is better.

From my first appointment, Dr. Philipose demonstrated exceptional professionalism and care. Mr Bhattacharyya is a fantastic Consultant and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for expert and friendly ENT care. Our son was under his care for two years for persistant glue ear and moderate hearing loss upon referral. From our initial consultation (with hearing test on site), we felt instantly reassured our son would be supported into full hearing. Mr Bhattacharyya initially tried some non surgical methods and as these didn't improve his condition sufficiently (as he anticipated would be the case), he then soon performed our son's surgery himself and was very mindful in putting both parents and child at ease. He then carefully monitored Michael post surgery and then thereafter as and when needed (e.g. check ups, any infections, providing advice). He has an excellent manner with children putting them at ease. Likewise his two audiologists and secretary are also fantastic. We feel delighted with his care; Mr Bhattacharyya gave our son the opportunity to hear properly and for everything to be carefully monitored for him starting school.

From the very first consultation, he demonstrated an exceptional level of knowledge, precision, and genuine care that immediately inspired confidence. We decided to visit them after reading their positive reviews and wanted to give it a try. After reviewing my test results, they recommended a three-month course of treatment. The instructions and cooking process were clear and easy to follow. After completing the three months of treatment, I went for another test and was delighted to learn that my FSH levels had gone down, which felt unbelievable and made us extremely happy. That said, I would have liked to learn more about my TCM diagnosis and what it meant, as this was not really explained to me. This was a bit disappointing, as I was genuinely interested—especially considering the cost of the consultations. Communication and transparency could have been better in this regard. However, Professor Au did call us to reassure us whenever he felt it was needed, which we appreciated. I would recommend them to anyone who is struggling with fertility and looking for support.

Hospital was dirty. Room was dirty. Was provided with a pillow that was fully stained yellow on one side with no pillow cover. One of the nurses saw it when he turned it over but I had already been lying on it for hours. Went to the surgery without any pillow only to wake up to another stained pillow without any cover. Found a toenail on the bed. Very unhygienic and was not comfortable. Staff were ok. Food received was not what I ordered, so left without eating anything. Will only be coming back for my second operation because it is the surgeons only practice that is close to where I live, otherwise would not be returning. Hygiene is most important in these environments and it was not to par at all. Worse than NHS.

My planned visit to consult Mustafa after the festive period suddenly crystallised, such that the consultation and treatment occurred all in one evening visit. Arrangements were made and on examining the analysis of the X-ray of my knee, it was clear that Durolane plus Depo-Medrone would be the best treatment, at least initially. Mustafa then carried out the injection and, with some advice on what might happen during the next few days, I was free to go. That level of service is very hard to beat!

I am always confident that I am in the best possible hands and has no hesitation recommending him.

Staff at the practice seem to be unable to distinguish between NHS patients a d those who Are private and paying. Twice i was sent to the wrong waiting area with NHS patients. Only to be later sent to the private waiting area. As a paying patient i expect a certain level of compitance and care. So come on Barlborough, a little bit of interest in your role might help
