About Mr Robbie Walker

Mr Walker is a locum consultant vitreoretinal surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He is also an accomplished specialist cataract surgeon having performed several thousand cataract operations including in 'high volume' settings. Mr Walker is renowned in his field, with eye surgeons opting for him to treat their family members, owing to his high skill and dedication. He receives outstanding feedback from both his patients and colleagues and achieves excellent surgical outcomes. He specialises in retinal surgery, cataracts and urgent eye conditions.

Mr Walker has recently been a consultant at the Western Eye Hospital where he was the lead consultant for the emergency department.

Mr Walker gained his MBBS from the University of London in 2009. He trained in North London and completed two fellowships at Moorfields before being promoted to locum consultant. His passion for educating the next generation led to him pursuing a Masters degree in surgical education at Imperial College London, where he was awarded the highly prestigious Deans Scholarship. He was also awarded an academic scholarship at Oxford University where he studied for his undergraduate degree.

Mr Walker organises regular teaching for retinal surgeons and often speaks at lectures and events. He was previously a fully qualified secondary school teacher before pursuing medicine, and now teaches and mentors other surgeons. Mr Walker is an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
