I have been a patient of Dr. Paneesha’s for around six months now. Being diagnosed with my condition, I knew that it was going to be a long road and a tough battle to good health. Dr. Paneesha’s reputation preceded him and upon meeting him he assured me that I was in good hands, and he definitely kept his promise. He is such a thorough, caring and attentive person. Always greeting me with a smile along with a joke or two, easing the tension in the room. Whether it’s good or not so good news, his delivery is always honest and always impeccable. Now, I am on the other side of treatment and I’ve just received the most amazing news regarding my health, and I am so happy he was guiding me through my journey. Thank you Dr. Paneesha.
From the initial fear, confusion and lack of knowledge of my acute myeloma and a collapsed L1 vertebrae, which needed major spinal surgery, Dr Paneesha was able to coordinate my operation with the surgeon and organise my chemotherapy treatment and stem cell transplant at the QE over the following 8 months. He was clear and calm and produced a simple road map for the way forward. His medical experience and connections enabled this with what seemed like little fuss. He also gave me the confidence to tackle one hurdle at a time knowing where we were going. As he said I would be, by January 2024 I was on a control drug and I still see him now on a monthly basis to review my blood results. I have complete trust in him and his knowledge of a very complex subject. He will never accept personal thanks as ‘it is always a team effort Robert’ and whether I see him at the QE or Spire Little Aston his team are always there supporting him. Known to them all simply as ‘Panessha’ or ‘the boss’ they all have the same respect for him that I now have. If there is a question his team needs answering about me they simply pick up the phone and 9 times out of 10 they get an immediate answer. If not a text or email quickly follows. Dr Paneesha has an engaging sense of humour that quickly puts you at ease but he is also honest if he needs to be. But when any bumps in the road do appear he always seems to know another route forward with the minimum of fuss. It is this deep understanding of his specialism and his involvement in research that is the backbone to his success. His positivity, kno...
Read moreI’ve been seeing Dr Paneesha for a few months now and feel very lucky to have him as my consultant for my blood disorder. He has a very easy going nature and a good sense of humour which puts you at ease. He explains clearly what tests he’s doing, why, what the results mean and always has time for any questions. I’ve recently had a bone marrow biopsy performed by Dr Paneesha and it was such a straightforward procedure that if I ever need another one I won’t have any concerns about it all. I was told exactly what to expect at every stage of the procedure and was given lots of reassurance throughout. I took some paracetamol just before I went home but apart from feeling a little bruised the next day there were no side effects at all. He is also very highly thought of by other consultants and staff as they always have such positive things to say about him.
Always attentive to the detail and explains what's going on and next steps in treatment, his knowledge and connections become invaluable. Has a great sense of humour and can communicate on all levels .
Our experience has been excellent, I feel he has gone above and beyond. Throughout my journey he has given clear explanations about the treatment I was receiving and made both myself and mother feel comfortable.
Always approachable, considerate, knowledgeable and puts you at ease.
I have been under monthly observation by Dr. Shankara Paneesha for the past six years as I suffer from Myelodysplastic Syndrome. Throughout that period he has been attentive, extremely responsive, very thorough, clear in both his verbal and written communications and enormously empathetic. I consider myself fortunate to have had him as my consultant over the entire period.
Paneesha to me is a teacher and an Oracle on everything lymphoid- i have sought his council even now when i am a consultant as i did when i was a Senior registrar. Always learn something new - Hight Recommended
