About Mr Ata Jaffer
Mr Ata Jaffer is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with specialist expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers. He also has a particular clinical interest in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), providing both medical and surgical treatment options for patients with prostate enlargement.
Mr Jaffer graduated with an MB BS in 2013 from the University of Hull and the University of York. He completed his specialist urological training in Yorkshire, where he developed advanced surgical skills in the management of complex urological conditions. During his training, he was awarded first prize by the Royal College of Surgeons in recognition of his exceptional surgical ability.

HOLEP procedure Given that having an acute urinary retention problem is rather stressful and hugely disruptive to lifestyle to say the least, Ata immediately inspired optimism and hope that the issue could easily be resolved. That reassurance in itself was extremely helpful. Having clearly explained the course of action, an MRI scan ( clearly interpreted) a short course of drugs followed by a single night stay in hospital for a HOLEP procedure, completed the resolution within 6 weeks from referral. The morning after the HOLEP procedure, waterworks were totally fixed. Writing this 6 weeks later having had final sign off from Ata yesterday, I’m truly grateful for both his medical and interpersonal skills in aiding my full recovery.
Mr A Jaffer is an extraordinary professional. He has the ability to be able to capture. What worries us as patients. Beside; with patience he explains it and he taking out all our doubts.
