I've seen the Joint Injection doctor twice, had two injections, and both were very helpful. The first visit was after I suffered some tissue injury to an arthritic knee and had some fluid removed and a cortisone injection, which gave me immediate relief and was the catalyst to me returning to exercise. I was having ongoing stiffness in the same joint and returned six months later. After consultation I chose to have a hyaluronic acid injection. This made a big difference to the pain, stiffness and function of my knee and has meant I am able now to properly rebuild strength on that side. Dr Thing is easy to talk to, and I felt he really supported what I am trying to do, which is to stay highly active and delay the point I will need surgery for as long as possible. He is very well informed and explained clearly the pros and cons of various approaches to managing arthritis of the knee. He is also skilled at what he does, the injections are ultrasound guided to ensure correct placement and both injections were painless.

On 27th September 2025 and I am very happy with my progress after my operation I have started to drive my car after 6weeks . I do get some pain at.times but it very early on after my operation but I do go for a walk Daley and do my exercises regularly. My family have said they are very proud of my progress and effort as I have made I have a new knee for my Birthday I will be 87 years youg .so please don't be put off they do look after you very well and with care.

I recently had a procedure done in Kingsbridge, Ballykelly, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the care I received. The direct experience with doctors and general staff is very good particularly with the medical staff who are exceptionally professional. There is a lack of personalisation in the experience and being treated as individuals. There seems to be a time pressure on doctors and in previous visits waiting time has been longer than expected. The environment of waiting areas and receptions should be improved as it looks clean and ok but does nothing to uplift the spirit of the patients.

In general, their service is excellent and easy to navigate. The only minor inconvenience is a small systems organisation issue. Data collection forms are sent as soon as follow-up appointments are scheduled (6 months in advance), and so the information would be out of date if completed at this stage. A workaround is to email for a new form link shortly before the appointment date, and to their credit they are always happy to comply with this.

Overall I got what I needed which is all that matters ultimately. Found it annoying to have to fill in yet another paper form when I’d registered online as requested via email the day before. Yet another different NHS portal - the third I have had to sign up to. Was also not happy to be asked for a credit card when I was there as a fully insured patient. I was told it was ‘policy’ but when I said I’d rather not it no longer seemed to be policy.
