Midland Eye

I really cannot fault the care and treatment I have received from Midland Eye! Every single member of staff I came into contact with - from the Receptionists, Nurses, Optometrists etc, to my wonderful consultant, Mr Ankur Barua, were all so thoughtful, respectful, sensitive to my needs and invariably helpful and informative. The surgery I required (corneal implant, plus cataract removal) was complex and not a little scary. Mr Barua took a great deal of time and care to ensure that I understood all the options, costs and procedures involved, and that I was comfortable with arrangements. Kate Gerrard, the Clinical Liaison assistant went ‘above and beyond’ to arrange my surgery and to reassure me that all would go smoothly. Her kindness, caring approach and high level of professionalism were all essential to the smooth-running of my procedure. The procedure itself was so much easier than I could possibly have imagined. The anaesthetist, was wonderful, and immediately put me at ease before my surgery. Mr Barua explained everything as it was happening, and I felt no pain or discomfort during the surgery. All the theatre staff were kind and caring, and the nurses spent time with me afterwards, explaining the complicated after-care processes. I feel that what Mr Barua has done for me is nothing short of miraculous! The vision in my right eye has gone from ‘looking through frosted glass’ to virtually 20/20 vision - without glasses! - in just a few weeks.. The staff at Midland Eye Clinic are excellent. I have been a few times over the past couple of months and they are all helpful and pleasant and professional. I would highly recommend their services.

Very friendly and professional staff

Feedback re appt 6/3/26. All went very well at Reception, made welcome and the premises were clean and suitable seating. assessment of both eyes and detailed discussion regarding cataract treatment. Awaiting follow up appt with Solihull Hospital re letter 16/3/26.

Corneal transplant due to Fuch's Dystrophy in right eye. I cannot recommend the team at Midland Eye more highly as the process was great from start to finish. It has been nothing short of a miracle to get my sight back. In particular I would like to acknowledge the work of Mr Barua. He is an outstanding surgeon who has amazing knowledge, understanding, experience and skill with this type of surgery. He translates complex medical language in to simple explanations to describe what Fuch's Dystropy is, and what the practical procedure will be on the day of surgery. He has a calm, caring and professional manner and is very approachable. His support team of ophthalmologists and optometrists all added to the professional care I received. Along with Kate Gerrard Refractive Clinical Liaison who managed and co-ordinated the overall process. She has been outstanding in her approachability, ability with managing the diary and after care. An excellent team. 10/10.

All the staff were very sympathetic about my anxiety about the procedure and everything was far better than i was expecting.
