Imran Khan

Mr Imran Khan is a distinguished Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon with over 18 years of experience in the field. After graduating from Cardiff University School of Medicine in 2002, he completed his postgraduate training within the West Midlands Deanery and a prestigious fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Mr Khan was later appointed consultant in 2016 and currently holds a leadership position as Surgical Retina Lead at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

His clinical practice is focused on complex vitreoretinal and high-volume cataract surgery. A recognized leader in surgical education, he has dedicated six years to serving as a College Tutor and has been honored for his excellence in teaching being awarded Trainer of the Year within the West Midlands region. Alongside this, he was named Trainee of the Year during his final year of postgraduate training. 

Mr Khan is also a prolific researcher, contributing extensively to the global understanding of retinal outcomes. He actively audits surgical data for national and international bodies to ensure the highest standards of patient care and communicates this data with the BEAVRS and EURETINA Vitreoretinal Retinal Detachment Outcomes Group and Macular Hole Outcomes Group. This collaborative research has led to the publication of research actively advancing the practice and patient outcomes of vitreoretinal disease.
