It was a pleasure to meet with Mr Stott. He was very informative and very easy to talk to. The time allocated was great and I was fully versed with all the information and further treatment I needed.
Mr Stott listened carefully to my viewpoint of the situation and the things that I thought might be relevant. having done so, he sent me for xrays. He than showed these to me and explained what they were telling him about the current situation in my back and left hip. He then outlined the options available for treatment on my left hip. He was careful to explain the various risks that the operation involved, as well as the statistical likelihood of these occurring, and his own track record for each as well. Having decided a way forward he outlined what the next steps would be. All in all, this was the ideal appointment.
I have seen countless medical practitioners and Mr Stott, is the most genuine, kind and compassionate of them all. His experience and expertise are very reassuring and this is all conveyed in a respectful manner.
Mr Stott explained my condition very well and recommended after care with physio. He mentioned Clavadel in Guildford and I am booked in there fore ten days.
Having had an excellent experience and outcome following my right hip replacement, l had no hesitation in seeing Mr Stott when my left hip suddenly and very quickly deteriorated, giving me sharp pain and difficulty walking two years later. His secretary was able to give me an appointment just a week later and an X-ray confirmed a replacement was needed. I was able to view the X-rays immediately with Mr Stott and he went through full details of the proposed surgery. My husband and I were under no pressure to decide straight away but could go home and decide. However, my husband didn’t need to do this and Mr Stott assured that we would hear from the hospital as to when a surgery spot was available. Just a week later I had a hospital assessment and two weeks after my first appointment with Mr Stott I was at the hospital for surgery,
Mr Stott was very helpful, explaining all the options and is clearly an expert in his field.
Very impressed Mr Stott had arranged to obtain my notes and recent images from a different hospital. Was rapidly aware of my problem, and gave a through explanation of potential management.
My recent 6 week post op assessment with Mr Stott was encouraging & I am optimistic about my mobility improvement going forward. He was very thorough in his explanation regarding my procedure (which was difficult & complex) and how I should progress with physio etc towards recovery. I am absolutely certain that he was the right person to carry out my surgery & I am so thankful for the outcome.
From the start, and then throughout the session, I felt very, very comfortable with Mr Stott. Probably few people relish the idea of having an operation- I certainly don't! - but my op is absolutely essential in order for me to be able to function again. He is very warm, empathic, and clear in his explanations, and also very importantly, honest in terms of expectations. I came away feeling very uplifted, relieved, and extremely happy that it would be Mr Stott performing it.
Phil is a superb colleague and surgeon. I would highly recommend to my patients
