    Mr Simon Lambert

    Orthopaedic Surgeon

    5.0

    Verified

MR LAMBERT SAVED ME (Enrico's testimonial) My name is Enrico, I am a 25 year old who had been suffering from constant rear shoulder pain (right shoulder) since 19 years old. For years I had struggled with intense DEEP shoulder pain in the back of my shoulder. Everything had caused intense pain! Wearing jackets, pouches, rucksacks, running, weight lifting, swimming. As a young man I was troubled deeply by this and was in CONSTANT mental and physical Pain due to this. Over the 6 year span, I had done 4 Ultrasounds, 2 MRI's , 1 MR Arthrogram, 2 steroid injections, done countless physio sessions and visited an osteopath to NO AVAIL. I was told my shoulder was completely healthy, no sign of deterioration and I just needed to strengthen my rotator cuff. In 2024, aware that I will have to step up my treatments if I ever wanted to fix this, (before I saw Simon Lambert) I had booked a consultation with a well known and highly rated shoulder orthopaedic through Nuffield Health. He advised an MR arthrogram, which had come back with no evident damage. He had noted there was nothing wrong with the shoulder, declared I was hypermobile and sent me to physio. After months of reluctant physio (I had done physio since 19 and knew it wasnt the answer) I had booked an appointment with another orthopaedic consultant - again with almost perfect ratings on here. This individual had completely agreed with the initial consultation that there was nothing wrong and I was just hypermobile (they said I would eventually grow out of this). This however did not make sense to me as all my other joints felt completely ok. Feeling rather defeated I had carried on with my physio, feeling I would never get through this and have a normal painless shoulder I become hopeless. As things didnt improve the second orthopaedic had took my case to a South West regional surgeons meeting, explained my situation in an attempt to find a working solution with 15/16 other surgeons. ALL THE ORTHOPAEDICS HAD AGREED THAT THEY WOULD NOT OPERATE ON ME. I was too young to have a deteriorating shoulder and there was 'nothing' wrong with me that a surgery would repair. Plus many surgeons wouldn't go near a hypermobile shoulder. You can only imagine the impact this would have on a young man who just wanted to live a normal life. I was devastated to put it mildly. I did not give up, I had done further research and stumbled upon Mr Lambert. Having a lack of faith due to my previous experiences with this, I had studied Mr Lambert and his work before I had booked the initial consultation. I had studied his reviews and was fascinated by how sincere his client testimonials were, it seemed he was an individual who just wanted to help people get back to their normal lives. His mannerisms and knowledge in his youtube videos had amazed me and he seemed a true master in his craft. I booked the initial consultation. I cant put into words the contrast in compassion between Mr Lambert and the previous orthopaedics I had seen. Mr Lambert was patient, humble and kind. He had done a physical assessment of my shoulder in the consultation and reviewed the results of my previous scan. He put my mind at ease immediately, he understood how tough this journey was for me and could see my emotion. He noted that from my symptoms his experience had alluded that it was likely that there was some form of structural damage even though the scans didn't clearly point to that. He said the only way to know for sure was to perform an investigation surgery (arthroscopy) to find out. (To many a surgery was something to avoid however I was so determined to fix this that I was ecstatic to think we were one step closer to figuring this out!) We had therefore moved forward with the investigation surgery, Mr Lambert and his Anaesthetist (Dr Picard) were superb before and after the surgery. As this was my first surgery I was evidently very nervous and they had made me feel relaxed. Post surgery Mr Lambert had come into my recovery room and after making sure I was ok, disclosed the results of this surgery. I had indeed had a 7-11 o'clock rear labrum tear on my right shoulder. The shoulder capsule was also very very loose. He would need to perform a rear stabilisation surgery that consisted of a labrum repair and a tightening of the capsule also known as a capsular shift. I was over the moon to see an end in sight! A couple months later (April 2025) we did the surgery (went perfectly) and I am currently over 7 months into my recovery. It has been a slow process of physio but `I can now see a humongous difference to pre-surgery. I can finally wear jumpers and bags and can slowly get back into physical training, I have not had any flare ups in the last month and not in that constant deep pain! I still have a little way to go but I am so grateful that Mr Lambert took the chance to help me when so many had not. I am eternally grateful to this man. This man is not only an experienced professional but a true gentleman. I would choose him every time! Thank you so much Mr Lambert. You have helped me more than you could ever realise. Forever grateful Enrico

It's not fair that being an NHS patient meant that we couldnt use the disabled parking, which was empty, right outside the hospital, meaning a much longer and uncomfortable walk. We we greeted well upon arrival and called through almost immediately. Although I found the nurse abrupt and abrasive to start with, I put this down to her working from the computer, checking through info. Perhaps that wasn't her strong point with technology. I have many complex needs, including some communication needs, being ADHD and Autistic. I clearly hadn't understood some of the portal questions and answered them differently to its intended expected responses. Perhaps some more understanding around neurodivergent conditions would be helpful and clarity around the context of their questioning, rather than to feel berated for replying "I fear spiders". The question asked for my fears or what I am scared of, if it was specifically regarding the procedure, it should have been clearer. I was clearly struggling with the bright lights in the office, holding my srm up to shield my eyes from the lighting, even commenting to my daughter who I took with me, my questionnaire replies would have told her I am photophobic, but because of how she initially presented to me, I felt unable to raise my concerns and ask for the lights to be adjusted. (This resulted in triggering a migraine after I left). Im still working on advocating for my own needs. Once the computer work was complete and she faced me to go through expectations of the operation day, she mellowed and warmed, her body language positively changed. This helped reduce my heightened anxiety. She was very good when it came to taking my bloods and I didnt even feel it, for the first time ever. I left feeling far less anxious than I did upon arrival.

    Fertility Medicine

I started seeing Dr Kat in February 2025 after she was highly recommended by a friend, and from my very first appointment I felt completely comfortable and safe in her hands. IVF was a new world and I was clueless, she has quite literally held my hand throughout the entire process. I had some complications along my journey - endometriosis, a cyst inside my right ovary thought to be an endometrioma but was actually a borderline tumour, she recommended specialist surgeons and Kat checked in on me at every stage of the surgery and recovery, going far beyond what you’d ever expect from a fertility doctor. What makes Dr Kat truly exceptional is the personal, consistent care she provides. At bigger clinics, you might only see your doctor a handful of times and get passed between different people. With Kat, it’s the opposite. She genuinely cares, knows every detail of your case, and you always feel like a priority rather than a number. Thanks to her support and expertise, I am now almost 11 weeks pregnant and have officially graduated from the IVF clinic. It was a very emotional goodbye, Kat has been the biggest and best support I could have imagined, and I honestly couldn’t picture going through this journey with anyone else.

I feel so grateful to have been referred to Mr Krkovic, he’s an exceptionally kind and polite man, such wonderful bedside manner, from my first consultation with him, it has always been apparent that he cares deeply about the patient sat before him. He listens patiently to all of my concerns & answers all of my questions in a language I could understand, with such compassion, always putting my mind at ease. I cannot express enough gratitude to himself and his entire team for the exceptional care I received before, during, and after my knee replacement surgery. The operation itself was a tremendous success. I am now several 7 weeks post-op and am delighted with the outcome so far. I am hopeful, that in time, just as he says, this surgery will make a huge difference to my quality of life; look forward to being pain-free and mobile again. Throughout this process, I have felt entirely safe and confident in Mr Krkovic’s highly skilled hands. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Krkovic to anyone needing similar treatment. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

My father was seen short notice on Wednesday the 5th of November which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately he did not have a good experience on his visit. The consultant came to see him in the waiting room and made him roll up his trousers and examined him in front of other people in the waiting room. He made him walk across the room with his trousers rolled up and as my father's hearing is not good he began to talk really loudly to him in front of these other people. I was with him and to be honest it was very degrading and embarrassing for a 79 year old man. He more or less told my father to get on with it and stop taking any antibiotics that were prescribed by his GP. My father ended up having an infection in his knee but unfortunately this man was very dismissive when my father said the knee was sore and had a lump on it and made us feel like we were just bothering him.

Mr. Karamanakos is one of the kindest and most compassionate doctors I’ve ever met. I was extremely anxious about having my gallbladder removed, but he was so patient, understanding, and reassuring every step of the way. He took the time to explain everything clearly and helped me see why the surgery was truly necessary. Thanks to his skill, care, and kindness, I now feel like I’ve been given my life back. I can’t put into words how grateful I am for what he’s done for me. He’s not only an incredible surgeon, but also a genuinely caring human being, and I will always be thankful for the difference he’s made in my life.

I visited Dr Awwad for the first time a month ago. After a very professional and thorough check-up, he gave me his contact details so I could keep him updated, something I greatly appreciated. He was always quick to respond and even scheduled calls whenever issues arose. We met several times afterwards for routine check-ups and a minor surgical procedure, and he consistently showed kindness and care. He also provided me with materials and gauze free of charge, which was very generous on his part.

Everything went very well, and I am very happy with the outcome. The fact that I managed to stay calm during the whole procedure is due to the care of all the staff. The scars seem to be doing fine - a little bit of itchiness, but I assume that's part of the healing process. (By the way, I filled in the short survey on paper when I returned to East Grinstead, a week after the operation - I left it with the receptionist.)

Miss Summerhayes is fantastic. She is very reassuring, friendly and knowledgeable. She has a terrific bedside manner, which eased the strss of my cancer treatment. Lyn Corlass keeps the process running smoothly and has always gone the extra mile to ensure that there was minimal waiting time for tests, treatments and appointments. Over all, they have made a very difficult time, much easier to deal with.

Attending appointments at HCA at the Shard is always smooth. Its convenient location makes it my preferred clinic. Two points to mention, or areas for improvement: - Broken automatic glass door, it's been broken for awhile, unsure why not fixed yet. - The reception staff at the main reception downstairs were snacking on prawn cocktail crisps whilst attending visitors which I thought lacked professionalism.

I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, and the consultants to be very professional and informative. The only negative aspect of my visits is that on my first appointment the radiographer who I was due to see had apparently not been informed that I had arrived. Consequently there was a wait of just over half an hour before I saw him.
