had a right knee replacement with Mr. Sam Rajaratnam just over two weeks ago on 3rd November 2025, and what I had feared would be a difficult and painful operation turned out to be completely painless. Sam is extremely kind, patient and reassuring — perfect for someone as nervous as I was. I had delayed doing this surgery for a year and a half and even cancelled the operation twice before finally going through with it! Mr. Rajaratnam has built an outstanding team, including an exceptionally experienced anaesthetist, Dr. Barry Philips; a kind and highly competent nurse consultant, Ms. Christine Howis; and an excellent senior physiotherapist, Felicitas Gatti, who visits me at home to guide my post-operative exercises. I was also extremely impressed by all the medical staff at the Cleveland Clinic hospital, who provided exceptional care throughout my stay. Whilst at the Cleveland, Sam visited me daily, and even came in today after my staples were removed to check on my progress. Mr. Rajaratnam’s expertise is evident—he has performed over 7,000 knee replacements—and the level of care and support I received was extraordinary. I was expecting a significant increase in pain once the stronger medication stopped a week after surgery, but to my surprise, I remained completely pain-free. I am extremely grateful to Sam and his wonderful team. I’ll be back for my other knee as soon as I’m up and running again!

It was a pleasure to meet with Matt Wright again following our consultations and procedures in 2019 and before, when he cured my atrial fibrillation. Thanks to his specialist care, I have been able to successfully carry on running my antique business from my gallery in Pimlico.. Accordingly, it was very reassuring to discover that he had recognised my name after my recent visit to A and E at St Thomases and had been advising on further tests and treatment following the analysis of my seven day monitor. Having explained to him that I had stopped taking the prescribed Bisoprolol 2.5 mg after three days, as it very quickly took my blood pressure down to 50, he recommended that I re-start on 1.25 mg. This reduction appears to have so far done the trick, as my pulse has dropped to mid 60s which is bearable. In conclusion I am so relieved to once again know that Matt is keeping an eye on me and that his ear is available should I need reassurance.

I have just attended a post op review with my consultant. From receptionist to radiographer ( review xray ) to consultant all staff were welcoming , friendly and empathetic. The time waiting to be seen was minimal and each staff member was efficient and ensured the visit was without issue and all concerns were addressed . Mr Islam, my consultant ,discussed In detail my postop xray and listened to my experience of recovery with interest and empathy - allowing me to tell him anything that had concerned me. My post op recovery status was assessed and encouragement given for further progress with a one year review planned . I left the appointment completely satisfied that I had treated by a person with the highest level of skill and professional attitude.

I loved the day staff. Ikram and Sennecca treated me with such kindness and so much support. I unfortunately was discharged after a week as I have other issues that need addressing before I am able to continue the treatment. The night staff in my experience have not been very attentive to my distress. As nights are the hardest time for me this was quite a big issue for me. Dr Veale is great and really knows what he is talking about. The rooms feel like a hotel and the program is scary but excellent here. Food is another issue for me and the kitchen are very accommodating to needs but the general menu is very eclectic. Overall I would say this is a very good hospital and I've seen patients with real change here.

Mr Perianayagam made me feel at ease with with my imminent knee replacement operation, I was quite nervous, but following our chat felt much better. I chose to have an epidural instead of anaesthetic, the operation went very well and I cannot thank Mr Perianaygam enough for his care and professionalism. I must also say that my recovery is also going extremely well. At my first physio session 3 weeks after the operation I was told by the physio that she was amazed at my excellant recovery and that I could bend my knee at 120 degees after such a short time. Thankyou to everyone involved in my care especially Mr Perianayagam.

Initially, my surgery appointment was for the 4th Oct. This was cancelled by Spencer Hospital; a new appt. was given: 16th Nov - so quite a wait, in the end. When the canular was removed prior to discharge, blood immediately started to pump; it took several sterile wads + a lot of painful pressure by the nurse before she was able to tape a further wad firmly in place to hold the blood back - at which juncture, the blood then accumulated in a 'mound' under the skin. I suspect an arterial puncture. My hand is still badly bruised; so not pleased with that aspect of my treatment.

Initial assessments were thorough and the clinicians were kind and understanding. Prescription costs seem affordable and my first prescribed medications were a slight improvement to before. My second prescription was not approved/provided on time and rationing medications/running out for a few days has caused some stress I had bad withdrawal/negative wellbeing from being requested to stop a previous medication, I feel this was somewhat unavoidable but I was not informed of what to expect stopping that med and left to work out the cause of the feelings on my own

I was seen urgently by Mr Bish Pal at Moorfields Private Outpatient Centre, for symptoms of vitreous detachment. Not being familiar with the area, I had been sent directions by Carrie, the Practice Manager, who met me in the office and made me feel welcome and relaxed. My consultation and examination with Mr Pal was conducted very professionally. His attitude was reassuring and he addressed all my concerns empathetically. He explained the clinical conditions affecting my eyes and provided me with clear instructions about further treatment and follow up.

Took the time to fully understand and wouod totally recommend.

Prof Kevin O Neill is excellent and I found he gave me a lot more time and care than other specialist private doctors give during new and follow up consultations. I had a very complex medical history and often worry about sharing that complexity with Doctors but with Mr O Neill i did not feel rushed, he took the time to understand the inter relating issues and approached my treatment very thoroughly.

I had a neck lift, and am extremely happy with the result. Super easy, low stress, expectations met. The procedure was incredibly easy. With the Twilight sedation, I literally was not aware of a thing. They administered it, and as if nothing happened, I came to easily and the only after effect was feeling a touch groggy the rest of the day. Very satisfied.
