The hospital was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. The procedure staff were particularly nice and professional. I was very happy with the procedure and the level of professionalism and also good bedside manner. One/two areas which could be improved if you are interested : 1. Pre-procedure information suggested an overall time from entry to release of approx 2hrs. With a 6pm admission time, I assumed I could arrange a collection for 8.30pm with some time to spare. However, on arrival, after approx 1hr 15mins it became apparent that the admission time of 6pm was a general time for 3 patients to be admitted and seen that evening between 6-9pm. I happened to be patient no.2, so was seen around 7.30 and released around 9, meaning I could not use the lift arranged (my wife &kids were ok til then, but not after). This then presented me with a choice of either taxi home or to ask someone at short notice to come and collect me. Had I known the range of procedure/release times in advance, I would have arranged a different, more appropriate, lift from the start. This leads to point no.2 2. I was not made aware of the choice on whether to have sedative or not. The literature states "you will be given a sedative" not that you have a choice. After the delay above, this then created a difficulty whereby if I took the sedative, I could not legally be released to an unknown taxi driver and would have to arrange another lift at short notice or not take the sedative. I opted to not take the sedative. Had I known this option was there, I could have driven myself to and from the appointment. It also would have saved my wife and kids spending time in the car on a busy evening. In connection with this, during the appointment, it sounded like release/recovery after the sedative was likely to be several hours, so release before 10-11pm was unlikely from the start and it was always probably going to be later if I took the sedative. Please don't take the above as criticism, just highlighting that making the choice on sedative clear would have allowed me to more easily plan both my transport. Also providing a bit more detail on the admission/procedure time range and release time range would have allowed me to more easily arrange appropriate transport. Basically, more information would have made things a bit easier is all

In October I had bilateral cataract surgery with enhanced monofocal toric lenses at Moorfields Eye Hospital (New Cavendish Street), with a two-week interval. My ophthalmic surgeon was the very skilful Dr. R. Deshmukh, who, after the initial clarifying consultations comprehensively explaining the different options for IOL’s, performed two excellent surgeries. To my surprise, they only lasted about 20 minutes each. I was recommended an anaesthetist, Dr. D. Celaschi, who is extremely professional as well as highly attentive. Beforehand, I didn’t realise how pleasantly relaxed the sedation would make me feel. On the day of the second surgery, the initial blurriness disappeared within a few hours. After many years, I was delighted to have clear vision near to far without the need of glasses! My recovery in general happened very swiftly. Together with the amazing nurses I was in the best of hands, and I would like to thank each of them for their incredible care. Also, a big thank you to Dr. Deshmukh’s practise manager Paula Jessup for arranging my appointments, etc.; and lastly, thank you to the welcoming, courteous, and helpful receptionists at this hospital.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Honestly blown away by this service I’m nearly 80 now, and I can’t even count how many doctor visits I’ve had in my life, but MyDoctor by Northern Health honestly left me a bit blown away. I wasn’t expecting much — you get used to being rushed through at my age — but I came off the call feeling like someone had finally taken the time to actually explain my own health to me. It felt different from the moment it started. No rushing, no talking over me, no making me feel like I was being dramatic. Just calm, proper care. I felt listened to in a way I haven’t in years. I actually felt like… well, like a person again, not someone they’re trying to hurry out the door. For the first time I understand what’s been setting things off, and what I need to do next time before it all gets too much. That alone is worth gold to me. I’ve been muddling along for years without this clarity. I’m honestly amazed. At my age you don’t expect to be surprised by much anymore, but this really did it. I’ll absolutely be using MyDoctor again — I wish I’d found it sooner.

Annette is not only a lovely, personable professional, she is also a highly skilled gynaecological surgeon. Seeing Annette has truly transformed my life. When I first had the pleasure of meeting her, she could tell I desperately needed HRT due to my symptoms & family history. She referred me to an HRT specialist consultant & my body wasn’t dealing very well with the bio identical progesterone, so I was referred back to Annette to have a Minera coil fitted by herself at Mount Alvernia hospital. The whole team were absolutely fantastic. Annette completely put me at ease with her warm, friendly charm & explained everything to me in great detail. The anaesthetist.was also lovely as were the whole team which made me feel welcome & valued. I’m delighted to say everything went smoothly & my recovery was comfortable & quick. If you’re looking for a gynaecologist for whatever reason, I could not recommend Annette & her team highly enough.

I was really pleased to become one of Mr Tai's patients, as he had been strongly recommended by my physiotherapist as the best person to do a replacement hip operation for me. He is ideal for me as I have a knee problem on the same leg, and as Mr Tai is a specialist for both knees and hips, we could openly discuss the most appropriate way of dealing with both problems, in a way I could understand. After only a week since the operation, I am already walking well (with sticks) and am looking forward to being so much better than I was before the operation. My operation was at Pinehill , Hitchin (a private hospital, but I am an NHS patient). The staff at the hospital were kind, helpful, supportive and attentive. The hospital was very modern and clean, the food was really good. I have no hesitation recommending Mr Tai. Thank you very much, Mr Tai, and the staff at Pinehill

in for umbilical hernia operation. Staff were first class from arrival through to leaving next day lunchtime. So caring and professional they took lots of the stress out of a stressful time. Room was clean and spacious enough. Dressing gown and under gown provided. Special thanks to Mia for looking after myself and wife when we arrived. The anaesthetist was kind and humorous helping me relax even more and I was completely reassured by the calmness and professionalism of everyone. Thanks also to the team preparing me for the op and Ms Darrien for performing the surgery successfully on the day. Special mention to Emma in the recovery area for looking after me and being so kind. Also to Sophie and John on the ward. Food was also first class. Really enjoyed the breakfast! Can’t recommend highly enough

I was thoroughly delighted by the experience. I was booked in very swiftly and efficiently by Ms Lisa Beckles, Prof Redwood's secretary, who went out of her way to get me a quick response to my initial email requesting a consultation, arranged my stress echo and squeezed in an appointment for me on the same. The stress echo team conducted a thorough test of my cardiovascular fitness and went out of their way to provide an urgent report so that I could discuss the results with Prof Redwood only an hour after the event. My thanks to Marlene and Chiara (apologies for spelling) and to another cardiologist whose name I have unfortunately forgotten. Professor Redwood was as ever charming and efficient and told me some very good news!

Very pleasing experience. I was given plenty of time, and had a thorough examination of my ears, with the removal of wax, followed by a full hearing test. I returned a couple of weeks later, and having been shown several different hearing aids, went for ones that fit into the ear, with no wires or pieces behind the ear. I now have them on a months trial to see how I get on with them. I was quoted a price, which I understand I will pay if these are the correct ones for me, but only when I am totally satisfied. There is then a 3 monthly check included in the price. I believe I can try others if these are not right for me, and Mr Clive who I saw, was most helpful and understanding of a lady who hated the idea of wearing hearing aids!

I recently saw Mr Sedra for coccyx pain. At my consultation he was very compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. After referring me for an MRI it was confirmed that I had coccydynia, which is indeed what Mr Sedra had initially suspected. Throughout the whole process I’ve found Mr Sedra to be very pleasant, professional and kind. He always listens with care. The steroid injection went really well but I had more pain than anticipated due to factors beyond Mr Sedra’s control and Mr Sedra and his team were very supportive during that time. Mr Sedra’s office team have always been extremely kind, helpful and very efficient at managing appointments and all communication. Thank you!

However, when an invoice recently arrived for a previous stress test and blood test, no account had been taken of the fact that I paid for the stress test on the day I took the test. Overall, there have been some administrative failings.
