Everyone was at all times friendly and quietly efficient. I was assessed via up to five impressive machines on the working day following my initial approach to the clinic. I had to approach the Clinic following the retirement of the consultant whom I had originally engaged, and who had agreed with my optician that I was ready for surgery. The initial examination at the Clinic was most impressive, and when Mr Chan met me shortly thereafter he was clearly able to make a quick assessment. He explained to me that the operation would be challenging, given the damaged condition of my eye, but he agreed with my decision to ask him to proceed. The pamphlets provided enabled me to have a good understanding of the nature of a cataract and the usual course of treatment before and after the operation. On the day of the procedure I approached without misgivings, and following a full discussion with a senior nurse who sought fuller details of my medical history, and then the application of anaesthetics by the anaesthetist, I proceeded to the operating theatre. It was good and very reassuring to be able to feel the area round my eye go numb in advance of entering the theatre. The operation was for me comfortable, and I enjoyed the soft verbal exchanges between Mr Chan and his staff, and the gentle and futuristic sounds of the surgical equipment. Afterwards, I have felt no discomfort from the after effects, and the post operation advice from another nurse has been very clear and helpful. And I am delighted with the outcome. After having been in effect virtually blind in my right eye, my vision is now clear, bright and colourful. Very much better that these current aspects of by “good” left eye! Well done everyone! Mr Barnick is an exceptionally charming, kind and talented surgeon. He listened carefully to all my medical concerns. Upon examination he diagnosed the problem and explained exactly where my prolapse was coming from and how it was affecting the bladder. Surgery was advised. I knew instantly that I had total confidence in him and elected to proceed. When my surgery had to be rescheduled ,as I became hospitalised with a serious blood condition, he liased with my haematologist and monitored my progress. The operation went smoothly due to his superb surgical skills. My prolapse has gone and the bladder has been repaired. I am now able to stand and walk without discomfort and pass urine normally. I will be forever grateful. Zoe his PA is delightful. She is incredibly efficient and extremely caring. Nothing was too much trouble and she helped me with my many queries before the operation. .

All of the staff at Nuthfield were so kind. Everyone was always smiling and being happy and kind to myself and my partner. From the receptionist who told us where to go and took us to our room. To the night nurse that checked us in to the room. I had multiple nurses come and check on me throughout the time I waited to have the cystoscopy. We were able to get food before and after. We arrived at 07:00 on the 27th, and I can't remember all the lovely people's names who helped us. My only slight criticism would be from arriving at the hospital at 07:00 the actual procedure didn't start till after 09:00 and this gave me lots of time to overthink the procedure. But I think that was a me problem and I also don't know how long these things take to check people in etc. So apologies if it is standard haha.

Dr Tan provided incredible support throughout my pregnancy and delivery. She communicated information thoughtfully and clearly, always taking the time to explain things in a way that felt reassuring rather than overwhelming. I truly felt that she had my best interests in mind every step of the way, especially during labour. During moments of uncertainty, she was especially calming and made me feel confident in the decisions we were making together. Her care, professionalism, and compassion made a huge difference in my experience especially as this was my first pregnancy, and I’m so grateful to have had her as my doctor. I enjoyed being looked after by Dr Tan, and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a consultant who is highly intelligent, knowledgeable and genuinely caring.

Mr Worthington explained on the basis of the scans that he had from St Peters the reasons for suggesting a medical procedure to drain a 4cm wide absess on my pancreas (not incidentally present on scans taken in April) He expained that there would be a biopsy taken to establish its nature and possibly the need to insert a stent temporarily. I was very satisfied with this proposed further treatment, albeit a bit surprised that the team at St Peters had not suggested that it should be done. I forgot to ask whether, if a repeat pancreatitis attack occurred, it would be possible for me to be admitted to Nuffield Guildford for treatment, insured by BUPA. And if so, what do I do at the outset, call 999 or the Nuffield?
