I attended the Neurology Clinic at Cleveland Clinic, Portland Place London for a second medical opinion (covered by my insurance) and I had ALL medical reports with me. The booking process was straightforward, and the reception team were excellent—very responsive and professional, with great customer service. I also appreciated that the clinic arranged for my MRI images to be transferred ahead of my appointment, so the consultant would have access to my medical history. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with how the consultation itself went. I came with up-to-date MRI scans (completed recently through an NHS neuroscience unit), along with relevant medical reports and test results. However, the doctor did NOT properly review my MRI images, stating they were “bad quality,” and instead suggested I pay privately for repeat MRI scans at Cleveland Clinic London 3Tesla MRI scanner (my all mri's were done on 3Tesla scanners). He also recommended another lumbar puncture, again privately, despite the fact that I have already had one. Overall, I left with the strong impression that the focus was on arranging further paid tests rather than reviewing the information already available and providing a clear second opinion. In the end, I did not receive any meaningful second medical opinion, no conclusions were offered, and I felt I had not been listened to. To be fair, Dr Wallace Brownlee was polite, kind, and his manner was professional. The neurological examination was fine. However, I still left without any explanation or diagnostic opinion, despite no recent change in my clinical picture that would obviously justify repeating tests before offering an assessment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dr Wallace Brownlee for someone seeking a genuine second opinion.

I was operated on by Mez and her team on the 16th of September 2025. I can honestly say that the whole experience has changed my life for the better. You asked about 'bedside manner', I can only say that this made all the difference to what, of course, is a stressful and anxiety-driven moment. Maz called me the Sunday before the operation and introduced herself. I knew instantly that I was going to be in good hands. She listened with intent, she asked the right questions, and quickly understood my predicament. She did not overpromise, she didn't assume or discourage, instead she advised and reassured. The circumstance, I hope, is an unusual one (although, sadly, I think that I might be incorrect). I am a 55-year-old woman who has had gynae complications since I was 20 years of age. Only recently being diagnosed with adeimiosis, I have been in chronic pain for years. Mez instantly understood this challenging journey and empathised with my story. I cannot thank her enough. I was very impressed by the clarity, structure and details of the summary of my first appointment. It was the most professional summary of a medical meeting that I have read in any hospital. What particularly impressed me was that it set out precisely how this first session had been designed to "break me in" by conducting it in a chair instead of more formally lying down and with fewer needles than subsequently. Mr Brown cleverly interspersed medical questions with some remarks about Somerset. This limited distraction was vital to me as I am chronically needle phobic. In this way, by partly taking my mind off what might have been an ordeal, Mr Brown ensured that I underwent no strains, mental or physical, from the treatment.

Mr Skyrme has been amazing since my first consultation. Following 9 months of sudden severe hip pain which totally curtailed walking and diminished a lot of my activity, I was very desperate to find a solution as I’m super sporty and keeping fit and active is a huge part of my life and my work. It transpired that I needed a hip replacement (at 42) but Mr Skyrme was amazing. My surgery was quick and I recovered really quickly. I was able to return to my physical job at 6 weeks post surgery and I am enjoying increasing amounts of exercise both in the gym and on my bikes. I’m so grateful that I’m able to get back to enjoying my life:-) Mr Skyrme has been super supportive, kind and caring throughout my whole journey!

I had a really positive experience staying at Nuffield Hospital. From admission to discharge, the staff were friendly, welcoming and kind. Everyone I interacted with was attentive, reassuring and helpful, which made a big difference during surgery and early recovery. Even when things were not perfect, such as not having a post-surgery bra in my exact size and sending me home in one that was a bit too big in the cups, the care and effort from the team never wavered. They handled everything with warmth, professionalism and good humour! Overall, I felt well looked after, respected and supported and I am very grateful to the staff who made what could have been a stressful experience feel calm and manageable. 💗

Once I arrived on the day of my surgery, the nurses were great in making sure I was fully prepared. The only questionable experience I had was that the physio who visited me before the surgery caused some confusion, as the exercises she showed me to do during the first three weeks were not what Prof. Field had said. Also it seemed odd that the physio visited me before the surgery, rather than after. Hence I ended up staying the night and saw Yannis, a different physio, the following morning, who was incredibly helpful. However, the experience overall was great, and Prof. Field and Dr Hussain, along with the day and night nurses, made me feel very comfortable and looked after me well.

Mr Jonathan Miles

Mr.Miles performed partial knee replacements on both of my knees. Both procedures were faultless, and the persistent and severe pain that I had in each knee (apart from the expected post-operative swelling) disappeared straight away. I had been in so much pain prior to each surgery, and painkillers only took a slight edge off of the pain. I was unable to walk any distance, sleep properly and it was affecting my work. But Mr.Miles’ interventions literally gave me my life back. One of the partial replacements is 12 years old and the other is 10 years old - but I’m still pain free. Thank you Mr.Miles.

The treatment I received at the Matrix Eye Clinic was excellent from both Mr Guy Smith and his first class team. The results from the cataract operation in both eyes is sensational. My eyesight is significantly improved, the length, the accuracy and the intensity of the colour are all enhanced. I am absolutely delighted. Before I had the operation I was considering exchanging our television for a new model because I was having difficulty in reading small print and the scene was blurred. Now I can enjoy watching. Amazing! I have no hesitation in recommending Matrix Eye Clinic.

I had a breast reduction and uplift with Parkash Lohana in December 2025 and I am delighted with the results. All the staff here are so kind and friendly. Special shout out to Roslyn for how well she looked after me (and my very anxious mum!) on the day, Bernadette, Lisa, but everyone has been amazing. I'm still healing and had to come in for a same day appointment to have something checked and Belinda totally put me at ease and gave me really clear information. Honestly couldn't fault a single element of my experience!

Cannot tell you about my visit as my reply to asking for an appointment is we don’t have and appointments and try calling on a Monday Tuesday or Thursday. Absolutely disgusting I’d be happy if given a date in a months time . You know you can never either get through on the phone or online to ge pain and with many other issues t an appointment. Spend a hour on hold to be told there are no appointments so I’m living in absolute pain and many other issues what a waste of time

After failing to get an appointment with my GP, my Daughter made an appointment for me at WLC , within a couple of hours of phoning I was seen by the lovely Dr. York. She identified me having a chest infection, and reduced power in my lungs . Collected prescription from chemist. At 82 , I think I would have ended up in hospital had it not seen this Doctor. Amazing service Now a day later feeling much better. 😎

I cannot fault my hospital stay in any respect. It was a wholly positive experience, notwithstanding that I had major surgery! Every single member of staff I encountered made me feel I mattered. They were, without exception, so professional and caring and kind. And - when I needed a hug I received several! I would describe the care I received, from start to finish and in every respect, as exemplary.
