I’ve been attending Kaizen Physiotherapy for both pre-hab and post-op rehab following my ACL reconstructive surgery on 1st September, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the level of care I’ve received. I worked with David before my operation and Gus afterwards, and both have been absolutely exceptional. Prior to the operation, I was seeing David twice a week - his focus on reducing the swelling and reducing muscle waste has made a significant difference to my recovery following the operation. I have been seeing Gus post-op and have been incredibly happy with the pace of recovery thus far. The post-op sessions have been focussed on everything from range of motion, balance, neuromuscular control to functional strength and stability - it is clear that both Gus and David are experts in their field which gives me great comfort knowing I am in top quality care. I would also like to reference one occasion during my recovery, when I was panicking due to a feeling of instability in the knee. Gus responded to my message out of hours and took the time to reassure me with his guidance. This made a huge difference to my peace of mind and is something I greatly appreciated. Their depth of knowledge, professionalism, and genuine dedication to their patients is clear from the very first session. They explain everything in a way that’s easy to understand, tailor exercises perfectly to your stage of recovery, and create an environment where you feel supported and confident. I was recommended Kaizen by my surgeon, and I can now see exactly why. The team here are not only incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, but genuinely kind and invested in your recovery. I’m super happy with the service they’ve provided and would recommend them to anyone needing physiotherapy - especially for ACL rehab.

I attended the hospital to have planned eye surgery consisting of cataract removal, lens replacement and full thickness corneal replacement under general anaesthetic. I arrived early and was allocated to a private ensuite room with secure storage. Nurses confirmed all the necessary checks that had been conducted the previois day in pre-assessment. A nurse applied gel to my hand to numb it ready for a cannula and provided surgical stockings. The anaesthetist visited to re-confirm details and provide reassurance. The surgeon visited to review procedure and risks. The nurse accompanied me to the anaesthesia room and looked after my clothes. After fitting the cannula painlessly, after the anaesthetic I knew nothing until awakening in recovery, with a pad over the affected eye. I was taken back to my room feeling fit and well. Nurses checked on me and provided the refreshments I had ordered. The surgeon visited again to confirm the follow up appointment. Medications were made ready, with post operative guidance. My chaperone arrived to take me home. The whole thing was completed on schedule.

Wonderful care from good staff but the bed was uncomfortable and the room was too small and felt airless and too hot. But the main thing is that hopefully this surgery will enable me to have a better quality of life. I already feel that my powers of concentration have improved and my brain is working better. It seems to me that once the soreness and itchy neck skin heals I will be back at the gym in January feeling thirty years younger. The hospital has done a good job and staff team are excellent. My only recommendation is that you knock the building down and build some more comfortable bedrooms with good ventilation with some comfortable beds for tall people.

My surgeon Mr Thomas was amazing from start to finish and I got offered an early date for surgery on first date of the appointment which I was not expecting. He also met me the morning of the surgery which was reassuring. Throughout I was given an opportunity to ask questions. Being informed of the size difference of the DCIS and grading was also informative. The icing was being told he got everything out and I wouldn’t need further surgery 🙌🏾. Very clear on what I could expect from the outset (including managing expectations about a return to running), effective combination of physio exercises and strength training and pragmatic about how often I needed to see him. Really friendly and it also helped that he’s a runner too! I’m now back to running three times a week, including one long run at weekends.

Dr Hull was extremely helpful in explaining fully the implications of my CKD. He went over in detail all of my results and I now feel reassured and able to manage it. Overall, it was a great experience. My only suggestion would be to consider allowing patients to complete any required forms online in advance of their appointment. Being asked to fill out paper forms upon arrival—particularly after having already completed information online—feels a little outdated and could be streamlined for greater convenience.
