I booked my appointment directly with Parkside Hospital, Wimbledon, so I didn't attend the London Heart Clinic nor any HCA premises, so my comments relate entirely to Parkside Hospital. 1 - Booking the appointment was a welcoming experience, Tanya was friendly, polite, courteous and easy to converse with. 2 - A follow up email was sent with the appointment details and patient information form which gave some scant details that would not in themselves form the basis of a contract imo. 3- On arrival for the appointment, I was asked to sign a form in 3 places. I was not given a copy of it nor given a chance to take it and read it in the waiting area, I was just asked to sign it, without it being read. 4 - on the basis that this document is in fact a contractual document setting out terms and conditions, which I didn't get to read, this is very poor practice, and could be challengeable. I also have no idea whether it made any reference to 'consent' within it. 5 - I was not handed a copy of the form before or after signing, and the form, with my signatures, has not been emailed to me subsequently, and it is now 2 days after the appointment. 6 - I arrived early for my appointment in the hope that I might be seen earlier than planned, but in the event, I was actually taken in for my appointment 25 minutes after my appointment time, but on the other hand, I had some 50 minutes, so I might have delayed someone else or made Dr Hinton late on leaving. Having said that, he didn't rush me at all, and I am very grateful for this. 7 - Dr Hinton himself was a pleasure to consult with. He made me feel at ease, and he enabled me to feel validated, and heard. He was kind and supportive and I felt I had found someone I could trust. Trust is a super important factor to me, as I've had so many bad experiences in the past. 8 - Dr Hinton grasped matters quickly and set out a case management plan, and dictated his letter to my GP in my presence, for which I am grateful. The only issue I have with that is, that I would rather the NHS GP is not involved, as I have no faith in NHS medical services right now, and I would wish to refer the letter to my health insurers, but am not sure how this will be done, and particularly so, if I am reluctant to speak with my NHS GP? I'm hoping that I will also be furnished with a letter that I can produce to my health insurers, so as to get authorisation for a scan plus it's super important that the letter has been sent to the right GP practice, and I hope it has. I did amend this quickly on the form. This has left a bit of a grey area for me, and I don't know if it was mentioned on the form that I was asked to sign without being able to read through it or be furnished with a copy so I could read it whilst waiting and ask for any amendments? 9 - Parkside is easy to access but it's looking a bit shabby in the outpatients area from my perspective, and the staff look a bit unkempt. My aunt was awarded an MBE for her services to nursing nearly 40 years ago, sadly, she is no longer with us, but she was a stickler for her staff having pristine uniforms, admittedly in the days when nurses wore hats and cuffs, proper uniforms, and butterfly belts, but she was always immaculately turned out and took a pride in her appearance, as well as her work. I often think that today, it begs a question about infection control, or moreover, the lack of it. 10 - it would have been nice to have someone volunteering to work the drinks machine. Older people are afraid to ask but are often dehydrated when waiting, and as we age, technology becomes quite challenging, even a drinks machine!

I cannot recommend Miss Shalini Chawla highly enough. After a long awaited pregnancy following five years of IVF, this journey meant everything to us. At my 28 weeks scan we were told we were expecting a large baby, and given that I am 45 and this was my first pregnancy, we knew we wanted one dedicated consultant to coordinate and oversee our care. For that reason, we decided to go private. After meeting several obstetricians, it was immediately clear that Miss Chawla was the right choice. From our very first appointment, she was personable, empathetic, incredibly knowledgeable, and instantly put a set ease. No question was over too small or silly, and she made herself available to us 24/7, which was invaluable during section anxious time. Miss Chawla got to work straight away. During her initial assessment, she identified the possible early stages of preeclampsia, arranged all the appropriate blood tests and scans promptly, and began planning ahead, including scheduling a potential delivery date. Her organization and forward planning meant that we never had to worry - everything was taken care of. Her communication skills are truly second to none. She kept us updated daily, even while she was on holiday, often checking in by text to reassure us and explain us the next steps. When my water is broke unexpectedly at 33 weeks, all plans changed. Despite the situation being frightening and stressful, Miss Shalini Chawla was immediately on hand, overseeing every aspect of my care and leading the team through an emergency cesarean section. Throughout it all, I had complete confidence that she would deliver our baby safely and she did. Her care did not stop after delivery. Her after care has been exceptional, checking in daily and continuing to do so even three weeks later. That level of dedication, compassion, and commitment is rare. Miss Chawla is an outstanding obstetrician, and I will be forever grateful for the care she provided. I would wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend her to anyone seeking exceptional maternity care.

Dr Charlotte Frise is an excellent doctor. Despite the multiple complications I had, she had time for me even when she was off duty. She saw me through until I sailed through. I was never afraid at any point even when I couldn’t breathe and had oxygen of 80% on room air, I was motivated. Her smile was always soothing and reassuring, it felt like family. She treats patients like family and it’s heartwarming in difficult times. I begin to tear up when I express how I feel about the care she gave me. Am very impressed and grateful for her services. The NHS is blessed to have doctors like her.

Mr James Hahnel

I underwent a Mako Robot total hip replacement in November 2025. As I was down to bone on bone, I was amazed and relieved to find that when I shifted in bed the same day, post op, I was pain free for the first time in years. The whole process was professionally conducted by Mr Hahnel, a very friendly and approachable man. I stopped the strong pain killers 48 hours after the op and indeed have been pain free throughout. Still slightly incredulous at how well the whole procedure and recovery has gone. Would highly recommend Mr Hahnel for this procedure.

The clinical team at Allergy London are very experienced, confident and kind. They have the ability to put families at ease and my daughter loved seeing them at her visits. I am so grateful to them for their expertise and thorough approach.. We had previously seen a different provider who unfortunately over-complicated the process of oral immunotherapy (OIT); Professor Fox's treatment was pragmatic, achievable and best of all incredibly effective in improving our child's allergies and quality of life.

Dr John Christopher Kingswood

I have been seeing Dr.Kingswood for the last three years after being diagnosed with low kidney function. He is extremely kind to someone with “white coat syndrome “explains everything that I should be aware of. Recently he has suggested weight loss injections as I find it difficult to lose weight I was also pre diabetic. This is beginning to show great results with weight loss and the overall BP readings. Again Dr.Kingswood has explained the benefits and the drawbacks to be aware of.

Incredibly long wait times, and very poor communication. Repeated requests for infiormation I've already given them and they kept changing which "portal" they wanted to use. The diagnoses for one condition came as an email, with no human touch, no next steps, no follow-up. Was just left to fend for myself. The diagnoses for the other condition was by video call, with a very disenterested practitioner who clearler didn't take on board the severity of my struggles.

Mr Daryll Baker

I found Mr D. Baker to be very proffesional and practical. He gave enough time to me to explain my issues in detail. He took the trouble not only to examin me but walked along with me to see my endurance. His line of approach for the future was very much in line with my earlier specialist consulations. He has asked me to see him again after 6 months after following his guide lines in the interim.

I have had the misfortune to be admitted to many hospitals since 2018. Lindo Wing at St Mary’s has been the best experience, second to none, with caring, experienced, informative staff. Refreshingly, nothing is too much trouble. Lal Navaratne ensured my complex care was fully coordinated by wonderful teams of professionals. I have no complaints, only praise for such an amazing experience.

Overall I am satisfied with the service but I don't always feel like my consultant is as prepared for the consultation as he should be given how much it costs. I would expect him to have familiarised himself with my notes and previous conversations that we have had about treatment options. I find that I sometimes have to go over the same ground that we have discussed before.

Went to visit Mr Reddy-Kolanu to discuss issue with Tinnitus in my right ear. From the time entering into the reception area until leaving, everyone was very helpful and professional throughout. Mr Reddy-Kolanu was very re-assuring with his advice and overall can only say positive things about the experience.

This was my annual appointment following my cataract surgery 6 years ago, and to assess whether my macular membrane remains stable. Everything went well, and I feel very fortunate to be in the care of Prof. Westcott. I am based in Surrey, but I would come from anywhere in the world to see him.

All went well , I was warmly received by the reception staff and examined by the nurse prior to the procedure.. Upon departure discharge letter was handed to me as just A4 size without an envelope. This seems to be bit below the high standard of privacy.
