Here is my story. I am 72 and severely deaf (70-90db)! So without hearing aids its lip reading for me...... I was having problems with my new generation hearing aids supplied by a leading brand - which I had been using for 8 years or so. Three or four fittings and the experience was not great - muffled, croaky voices and poor sound dynamics (loud - soft). So I asked my Portobello GP if he had any ideas as it was time for me to check out another audiologist - either it was my hearing going down further or the hearing aids. He recommended Pindrop - saying it was the only show in town! Thats when I met Christina. First thing she did was an audiogram then a hearing-in-noise test in a booth. First time for me! Came as a big surprise that I had never been offered this test before. I was hearing only 48% of what was being broadcast. So she re-fitted the hearing aids using the new audiogram and then using REM software, adjusted the proprietary fitting program. Also new to me! We re did the hearing-in-noise test and it went up to 86%. So a big improvement for me and those who engage with me. Also real verification - not trial and error - which was my previous experience. So a big thanks to Christina. Christina then suggested I may do even better with the new Phonak Sphere hearing aids. Next generation using AI can reduce unwanted noise materially. So of course i said yes. And they are truly excellent - I have now been using them for 2 weeks. Much better than the previous brand. A step change. So my hearing experience has taken a huge jump up! So well done Christina on this. It is the most important hope of the deaf! The supply and setting up of the all the new equipment: hearing aids, moulds, back ups, roger, tv connector, apps was all done smoothly and efficiently. They also all hand shake very well - turn on the tv: it streams automatically. Same with online meetings and i-phone. No manual switching needed. Roger just works when turned on. So altogether a big win for me. Thanks Pindrop and thanks Christina. I will be even happier when Pindrop offers Whats App messaging to its customers - hopefully soon!

20/10 I was recommended to Dr Alek by multiple friends, including one who is a doctor herself and trained under him. He came highly, highly recommended and is known as the best in the business — and I can completely understand why. From the moment I walked into the practice, I was warmly greeted by Sam, the practice administrator. She was friendly, welcoming, and made me feel right at home. Thank you, Sam! I’ve seen many aesthetic doctors and practitioners before, and Dr Alek is by far the best I’ve ever experienced. Previously, consultations felt rushed — numbing cream applied, a quick question about what I wanted, and straight into the procedure. With Dr Alek, it was completely different. We began with a thorough consultation where we discussed my concerns, the procedures I was interested in, and everything I’ve previously had done — including where, when, and any medications I’m on. He then did a full facial assessment, looking at proportions, symmetry, and structure. He carefully felt for any existing filler or lumps, explained what they were, and clearly walked me through what we can and can’t do moving forward. Everything was explained in a way that was detailed yet easy to understand. We created a thoughtful plan of action together, and what stood out most was that he never once tried to “sell” me on anything — something I’ve experienced with every other practitioner before. It’s immediately clear that he truly cares about his patients, has an incredible passion for what he does, and an exceptional eye for detail. He really knows his craft. Today we did Botox, and it was genuinely pain-free. He is precise, intentional, and incredibly gentle. As soon as I left, I couldn’t wait to call my husband and tell him how amazing the experience was. I’ve now officially joined my group of friends who cannot recommend Dr Alek highly enough. My doctors are always amazing and when ive had a serious procedure they have been excellent. Only minor thing id say is once the doctor hands over to the team of nurses etc it felt as though they werent sure what to do with me. I was sent for bloods then asked to go to the main hospital then told to go to ground floor then someone else was able to sort out my appointments. When I couldve resolved a few things on the day I went, it ended up having to make appointments for everything. I was given a urine sample kit to take with me. I kinda wish my bloods and urine would have all been completed on the day as they have the facility and there was time as I sat on the chair for a few minutes before they apologised and told me id have to go to the main hospital. I think when its one thing to do, its pretty straight forward but when theres a few things to book in I was handed from one nurse to another to anothert and in the end I left having to change my appointments. They are all lovely but feels as though they are missing some direction and considering that the patient may already be a bit anxious about the visit. Otherwise its always a good experience

I had penis filler and it was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. I had the filler on the Monday and by Wednesday I was in a&e with a very balloon swollen penis and had to have catheter inserted in my penis for 5 days. I was then rushed for emergency surgery the next morning to remove the filler and infection at the injection site. I was in hospital and 5 days and I’m now under a nhs urologist because the urologist at Moorgate cancelled the video call because he said it was unwell. Once they have your money your on your own and the chances of compilations are a lot higher than what they claim. The office I had my filler was not sterilised and moor like someone’s living room. Once if fully recovered I find out if it’s caused and permanent damage I will be looking to start a medical neglect claim against Moorgate. PLEASE if your thinking about having this done seriously I would re consider. Just use an extender/pump.

The physiotherapist seemed unconcerned by the pain I have been experiencing for nearly a year. He mentioned that I had full movement and so he was not concerned. He kept saying that he would not give me another steroid injection without acknowledging that I didn’t want one. He told me to do some exercises which he showed me how to do once and gave me no paperwork or YouTube link that might assist when I got home. I tried to ask how long I should wait before I made any further action and he said there is no more treatment. I felt like an inconvenience and wish I had gone somewhere else. I would never recommend anyone to see him again. He really made me feel small and insignificant.

Although this was my second hip replacement the experience was very different and unexpected. Mr Stott had explained that it was different but not really explained the different rehab. The physio I saw at Stride (the one recommended by Spire). Their understanding of the different reha was poor and essentially recommended a programme neither specific to the operation nor the individual. A really unique service in this country would e a closer tie between surgeon and physio and specialist physios who really understand which muscles cut where the inflammation likely to occur etc. This would gratly ease the patients mind and expectations

I found the whole experience of surgery with Dr. Kovacova to be extremely reassuring. I was relatively nervous about the ptosis op, she gave clear and considered information on what I should expect and the related risks before the op but was careful to explain that it was a relatively routine procedure that put me at ease. Overall the experience was excellent, with one frustrating aspect - initially I was told that my surgery would be at 15:00, and that I should attend the hospital at 13:00. A couple of days before the surgery, I was told that the surgery time had changed to 14:15 and I should attend at 12:15. I did so, and was then kept waiting for over an hour in the lobby as the room was not ready - giving the impression that it was unnecessary for us to have come early. A little frustrating, however the staff were incredibly friendly and kind.
