We opted for private care at UCLH because we wanted the birth experience to be as positive as possible. As a medically uncomplicated patient I felt that I may not receive much attention or time on an overstretched NHS ward. I also had some anxieties around birth (as a healthcare professional myself) and felt reassured to be receiving consultant-led care, from a clinician with whom I was able to build a trusting relationship. Shalini provided exceptional care from 32 weeks pregnancy and after delivery. She got to know me and my partner, and understood our priorities and concerns. I had previously found it hard to make decisions around birth. Shalini provided us with evidence, data and her experience - this empowered us to make our decisions. She spent a lot of time with us and brought great care, empathy and kindness to her practice, as well as her excellent clinical skills. When we had questions, fears or anxieties Shalini was able to reassure us, both with her kindness and her experience and expertise. The care she provides is holistic and individualised - she advocated for me in many ways and empowered me to advocate for myself too. We had an elective caesarean at 39 weeks. The surgery was pain free and crucially for me, I felt confident and safe - something that was not natural for me in approaching birth. Shalini was close at hand to care for us before and afterwards. I made an excellent recovery and have healed extremely well. I recommend Dr Shalni in the strongest terms to mothers and families looking for private care at UCLH. Shalini is passionate about obstetrics, her patients and practising medicine. It is a great privilege to be cared for by a clinician at the top of her field, who clearly cares deeply about her patients.

Dr Lindsay looked at mammy’s medical computer record and asked how he could be of help. He was obviously very knowledgeable about osteoporosis, its impact and difficulties with pain management. He listened to our concerns about the constant pain mammy experiences and discussed pain management strategies. Also suggested vitamin supplements. Given that mammy is in the last stage of osteoporosis we understand that she is very frail and at continued risk of fractures. Dr Lindsay provided information from the Royal Osteoporosis Society advising on managing persistent pain after fractures, pain relieving drugs etc. Dr Lindsay gave my brother and I time to go over mammy’s recent medical history and presenting issues. He had a lovely manner with mammy and involved her in the discussion.

Monaghan + Morrow | Vasectomy Clinic - Belfast

I attended Monaghan & Morrow clinic for a vasectomy procedure in February this year. I got booked in within 2 weeks of initial contact. I was naturally anxious about the procedure but the guys made me feel at home from the minute I walked in. The procedure was pretty much pain free. Stephen & Gillian also clearly communicated pain/brusing etc over the days following, which was very reassuring. Also a check-in email the following day to confirm all was ok. (which it was) After some initial tenderness, I was back running within 1 week of the vacetomy. The follow up semen analysis was also very straightforward. I received the kit in the post with instructions. Results were then emailed within a few weeks. I could not recommend Monaghan & Morrow enough.

I had my suspicions as to what was happening to me. However, going down the general NHS GP route was not getting me anywhere. They kept treating each symptom individually rather than looking at me as a whole. A few years of going backwards and forwards. Stress! With Dr Nikki, within the 30 minute consultation I felt heard, all symptoms were put together and a treatment plan was formed. It all made sense and everything was explained. Medication prescribed and ordered, report received and a report sent to my own GP, all within a few hours. Future follow up already booked. That is what you call professionalism, efficiency and having very knowledgeable doctors who understand the female body. Wish I had booked them sooner. I would highly recommend them.

Professor Field, known to me from previous surgery, received me with his usual warmth and with clear intention of this being a collaborative process. I was offered relevant information throughout and he was readily available and encouraging to further explanations and questioning. Professor Field's policy of availability and attention through to final discharge and beyond provides the holding for ongoing recovery.

Arrived at diagnostics centre and was just expecting a consultation with a further appointment for procedure was feel anxious but was made to feel welcomed and reassured by all receptionist was really pleasant as was my nurse Eileen I believe her name to be. I then met Mr Muen who was very polite, reassuring and empathetic. To my surprise my procedure was carried out within this appointment saving me further anxieties, travel and time. We checked in early, due to traffic, 20 minutes early at 13.10 for an appointment at 13.30. At 14.05 I returned to the reception desk to ask why a large number of customers had arrived after us and been seen before and the Team Lead stated that she would check for me. She came back 3-4 minutes later to notify us that the reception staff had not booked us as arrived. We were told that they were sorry and that we would be moved to the front of the line. We did not have a very good experience with you.
