It is extremely unpleasant being treated as a cash cow. I had diagnostics for cataracts at Bath St on 18 December 2025. It seemed organised and the consultant, Mr Rajesh Deshmukh (RD), answered my questions and so did his practice manager Paula Jessup (PJ). I subsequently asked for written information on the kind of lenses RD recommended and I had agreed to. They are EROV lenses. When I asked for it, PD's response was that RD had talked to me, I said I couldn't remmber everything and my eyes were dilated so I couldn't see information he showed me on his phone. The written information was not provided. in advance of the surgery. PJ directed me to RD's website. The information on the website writes briefly on product benefits, but doesn't explain how they work. I had bilateral cataract surgery on 2 February at New Cavendish. St. Thgere was no explanation, written or verbal, of the process, eg pre-med, med, timing of procedure, rest afterwards. (There is a very brief outline in PD's email of timing). People came and did things to me as the 'animal for slaughter'. Before the procedure, I was given a paper form to fill in for registration. I had already done this at Bath St. Surely the information is on the system. I needed to find my BUPA number and authorisation code again, GP Practice etc. I also had received a pre-procedure call when this information could have been checked etc. For several days, I couldn't read the written instructions provided after the procedure. A nurse did discuss them however I hope it is understandable that I didn't remember all of them. Additionally I couldn't read the numbers on the eye drops packing for several days. The second bullet point on the instructions says 'your vision will be blurry for the rest of the day and possibly the next week'> This is repeated as the 7th bullet point on the instructions on the second page. The instructions have not been prepared with this in mind. On the first page, the instructions also says if you feel any pain or discomfort in the eyes etc please call the clinical helpline number above. The number is not on the document. On the second page, last bullet it says, '....If you vision (there is a typo it should say your vision) becomes significantly more blurred etc, please contact your consultant. On the phone PD, said if you think you have an infection go straight to A&E. All of this is unclear. Overall the instructions are presented in an illogical and careless way. The day after my surgery PD phoned around 6.30 pm to ask about how I was. I would suggest this is too late in the day for a recovering patient, and the instructions say ' we would like you to go home and take it easy'. She also said she would send a prescription for further drops to my GP practice. On Thursday, I phoned to let her know that the GP Practice said they haven't received them. Her response was, if you have received them, they have. Fortunately I had taken a printout of the prescription to my GP surgery and they logged it into the system and have actioned. I do not think the response from PD was helpful and it could be called defensive. There appears to be no-one who takes responsibility for the patient and ensures that they are looked after.

I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Christian Brown, who treated me for prostate cancer and performed my surgery. From my very first consultation with him through to my recovery, his care has been outstanding. Mr Brown's manner put me at ease immediately. He combined genuine warmth and compassion with exceptional professionalism, making what could have been an overwhelming experience far more manageable. His communication was exemplary, he took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions thoroughly, and ensured I understood each stage of my treatment and what to expect. His expertise and skill as a surgeon are evident in my excellent recovery. The surgery went extremely well, and I've been impressed by how smoothly my recovery has progressed. Throughout my entire journey, Mr Brown has inspired complete confidence. He is not only highly skilled but also genuinely caring, providing reassurance at every step towards my wife as well as towards me, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been under his care. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone facing a similar diagnosis.

My first appointment was arranged within a week. After my appointment I was offered surgery in exactly one more week. Everything was great, lovely facilities, lovely staff. Everyone was very friendly and constantly being offered coffee etc. On every occasion I was taken either on time or early. I was put at ease and everything was fully explained and what the best lenses for me would be, based on my history and interests. On the day of surgery, everything went fine and there was no pain whatsoever, merely a strange feeling as the surgeon did his stuff. Afterwards I was given advice re eye drops and aftercare and again all great. Everything was fine when I got home, merely discomfort and that soon passed. I had plenty of people checking and following up that all was well. Finally, I had a follow up visit after a few weeks and again everything was great and very professional and I was advised to see my optician and GP. Throughout my time, the service I received was first class.

I ruptured my Achilles tendon playing squash last September. My consultant surgeon strongly recommended Physio Remedies, who have an excellent reputation for helping athletes recover and return to sport in the best possible condition. I’m being treated by Naomi Murray, who closely follows the latest international research on Achilles injuries, which is very reassuring. The rehab plan has always been clear, progress has been excellent, and follow-up is very responsive whenever I have questions. Her patients’ recovery and long-term outcomes are clearly a genuine priority for her. The facilities at the Lansdowne Club are also outstanding and make a real difference to the quality of the rehabilitation. I would definitely recommend Physio Remedies.

My whole experience from initial consultation with Mr Hughes to today's final check up has been amazing. Mr Hughes explained the whole procedure in a very reassuring manner, patiently answering all my questions. The stay at the Cleveland Clinic was extremely comfortable, and very calming, my nursing staff were very kind and so attentive at all times. My operation was a success, and the call at home on my return from Mr Hughes was very much appreciated. Both my follow up consultations have been very successful and I am pleased to be recovering well. I am very glad that Mr Hughes is my consultant and his calm reassuring manner has made the whole experience better than I had thought it would be.

The consultant was very reassuring throughout. The teams, medical and physio, came across as calm, competent and professional. The nurses and reception staff at the hospital were friendly, calm and professional not just to me, the patient, but to my wife as well. Recovery after the procedure was less daunting than I feared it would be, the pain experienced was less than I feared it might be, and the rehab process has been every bit as easy as I was told it might be. So, thank you to everybody concerned.

I will be forever grateful to Mr Teo. His surgical skill has meant minimal long term effects despite such an extensive surgery. He is also a wonderful human being. Kind, compassionate and reassuring which was much needed at such a vulnerable time. He always answers my questions in a way I can understand and seeks to understand my concerns and what is important to me. I feel truly lucky that he has been my surgeon (twice!)

I had trouble releasing urine, as well as blood being present in the urine. Blood would still come out after urination. A stricture in my urethra was the reason for my discomfort. Mr Varun Sahdev was able to determine that and propose various procedure options. After the operation, all my discomfort gradually disappeared, with a very significant change right after the operation.

I have struggled with trigger finger in both hands for a while. Mr. Jonathan Hobby has always given me the best advice and treatment. The most recent steroid injections have been a huge success. My middle fingers no longer lock when I'm carrying out daily tasks and the terrible pain in my left middle finger joint has disappeared. A huge relief and it's wonderful not to be in pain.
