Last year, I decided to see Mr Holland after experiencing several years of severe symptoms of what I thought the time was endometriosis or PCOS. I was quickly put ease when Mr. Holland was talking through various symptoms and next step plans, including a helpful referral for a urologist and scans. I didn’t feel pushed to go through a certain route and was carefully provided with all the risks that came with surgery - I was also listened to and that made me feel seen considering my symptoms. However, my surgery experience with Mr Holland and his team was absolutely exemplary from start to finish before my operation. I had various tests and one test came back. That wasn’t completely accurate so they encouraged me to come in and sort this out rather than leave it, on the day of surgery I always carefully walked through what was going to happen I had nurse advice and the care at the hospital that I received was 10 out of 10. Post surgery I wasn’t pushed out the door and was encouraged to begin my rehab firewalking and the nurse was close to be monitoring me. I wasn’t just left and following up I was I had regular checks and even post three months after surgery I had a consultation and was advised of appropriate next steps. I appreciate how scary this situation can be for young women, but I was always put it ease and no requests or question was too silly or small, now almost 8 months per surgery I feel like I totally new woman and that is all thanks to Mr Holland.

I had a bilateral cataract operation, performed by Mr. Deshmukh. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. The technicians who did all the assessment checks (separate and earlier appointment) were excellent. At this appointment I met Mr Deshmukh who put me at ease and we discussed the best replacement lenses to suit my needs. For me the premium lenses were the right choice. On the day of the operation the hospital staff were brilliant - professional and good humoured. The operation was completely painless and took much less time than I had anticipated. The immediate aftercare was been superb and the nurse talked me through what I had to do and just as importantly avoid doing. I was given some eye drops to use for the next 4 weeks. You quickly become expert at using them. Following the operation my eyesight was as good as I can remember it ever being. I then returned for a follow up consultation with Mr Deshmukh who confirmed that my recovery was going very well and my vision is better than 20/20. I have worn spectacles since my early teens and this is an incredible outcome. I can now proceed with my training to become a driving instructor.

Attended for a blood test. I’ve had multiple bad experiences with blood tests over the years. This is primarily because I have very small and narrow veins which disappear with the touch of a needle..☹️ I find the whole experience extremely painful and distressing … I explained all of this to Debbie, the wonderful and kind nurse who attended me. She was brilliant! Totally put me at ease and was incredibly supportive and gentle. I was definitely a challenge for her as my veins were completely uncooperative per usual. But she took her time and used the smallest needle possible to minimise any discomfort. She succeeded in the end and managed to get enough blood for a full blood count!! Miraculous! I am so very grateful to Debbie for turning a potentially very upsetting and negative experience into a positive outcome. She has helped me to regain a little more confidence in having my blood taken again. Thank you Debbie! 😊

Was all very good. Mr Kirkland has an excellent bedside manner, is professional and efficient and you feel confident in his skills. He has been my only ENT consultant over the years who has recommended giving hearing aids a try in the ear where I have a mastoid cavity. The others have always said I would have more infection problems. Although I was sceptical at first I am so glad I have tried, without any issues after 6 months and they have made such a difference. So at 74 years old I now have amazing hearing since I had the operation 61 years ago which reduced my hearing. I have had issues in the past with balance problems with microsuction, but with patience he gave it a try, rather that using instruments, which previous consultants have done and successfully microsuctioned the mastoid cavity, without disturbing my balance. So all in all a great outcome.

My care at this clinic has been outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone needing expert psychiatric support for complex trauma. The service is psychiatry-led, with the consultant coordinating treatment plans and supervising input from psychology, occupational therapy, group therapy and trauma modalities including EMDR, DBT, CBT and embodied psychotherapy. This ensured that care was coherent rather than fragmented. I initially attended four in-person sessions per week and have now safely transitioned to monthly. The team have specialist expertise in workplace bullying, institutional power dynamics and identity-related trauma, which is unusual to find. The level of understanding and clinical leadership has made a meaningful difference to my recovery, and I could not recommend the service more highly.

I had an initial consultation for varicose vein treatment (following a flyer in the post) and following further investigations/diagnosis I went ahead and had an operation. The whole experience from beginning to end was first class. Everything was fully explained to me and all my questions were answered before deciding on the most appropriate treatment. The operation (under local anaesthetic) went well with a nurse talking to me all the time and explaining everything which was happening as as well as distracting me! My recovery went as planned - and as explained - and a follow up visit to see the consultant was very reassuring. All in all I was very pleased with everything and would not hesitate in recommending Shepton Mallet Hospital.

After seeing several gynecologists, Mr Raza was at last the most reassuring and straight forward in explaining why having a robotic laparoscopic hysterectomy would be the best way forward for me. I am now 6 weeks post op and I am feeling great. I am continuing to be amazed by how small my scar is (2cm!). I would highly recommend Mr Raza to any women doubting whether to have the operation. Every person is different of course but he is so knowledgeable, kind and professional. A robotically assisted total knee replacement, including patella, various challenges. Mr. Port replaced a hip for me 9 years ago, with superb results, and has done procedures for a couple of friends, so there really was no other choice. Three previous large surgeries on the same knee and a failed carbon fiber gave Mr Port a proper mess to deal with. My recovery has been almost miraculous, and 8 weeks post op I am pain-free, with a straight knee and super flexion, and the neatest scar. I honestly don't have the words to describe my appreciation for the skills of this surgeon. Honestly, couldn't recommend him highly enough

The waiting area had few chairs and not enough for the people waiting. The people around there that gave me paperwork and told me where to wait, were polite and helpful. The appointment with the consultant was really distressing, I couldn't ask questions and didn't discussed with me the plan, just set up steps without getting me involved on her treatment plan. This experience was very negative from what I expected when you go to a professional asking for advice and reviewing if your body is working well. Mr Rees explained the problem. He gave a very clear explanation of the options available go me. He also offered advice on what he felt was less like to be suitable for me. The appointment for surgery came through quickly. On the day of the surgery, the procedure went well. I went home with clear instructions and what to do if there were any problems. The post op appointment showed that the toes had fused and everything had gone well.. in summary, Mr Rees has been very professional, very kind and very efficient from start to finish. I would highly recommend him.

My partner and I came to the Agora for a fertility assessment as we've been trying to conceive for a couple of years. The doctor was kind in explaining our results and gave a clear plan of what they recommend moving forwards. I chose the clinic based on the good reviews and we are so happy that we did. All the staff we have come across have been very nice and answered any questions that we had. We feel comfortable choosing the Agora for IVF even though this is an unknown road ahead, i feel supported.

Cannot tell you about my visit as my reply to asking for an appointment is we don’t have and appointments and try calling on a Monday Tuesday or Thursday. Absolutely disgusting I’d be happy if given a date in a months time . You know you can never either get through on the phone or online to ge pain and with many other issues t an appointment. Spend a hour on hold to be told there are no appointments so I’m living in absolute pain and many other issues what a waste of time
