Twelve months ago, I underwent surgery following a fall that caused a bleed on the brain and significant damage to the nerves on the left side of my face. The nerves had realigned incorrectly during recovery, leaving me with a noticeably crooked appearance and difficulty with facial expression. After several consultations with Mr Ahmed, we agreed on a surgical plan to remove and correct some of the affected nerves to help restore my facial symmetry, expression, and smile. One year on, the progress has been remarkable. The improvements in my facial movement and overall confidence have been significant. I saw Mr Ahmed again today, and he took the time to review my progress in detail. He explained the positive changes achieved so far and arranged to see me again in six months to assess further development from ongoing physiotherapy. At that point, we will discuss whether any additional treatment, surgery, or support may be beneficial. I am extremely grateful to Mr Ahmed for his expertise, guidance, and the results I have achieved to date. His support throughout this journey has been invaluable, and I truly appreciate the care he has provided.

I reached out to TCM after I was told that I had a very low AMH and AFC and that I would likely go through early menopause. This caused me a lot of stress as I had always had regular periods and had never considered that I may have fertility troubles. Prof Au talked me through my results and educated me on AMH as a poor predictor for menopause. He advised me that I would need further bloods to fully assess my fertility and I was able to request them from my GP. Following this he reviewed my bloods with me again, without charge, and advised me that everything was normal and I did not need to be seen at TCM. Dr Khan explained clearly regarding the battery of the pacemaker and we agreed to confirm 12 monthly checks on the pacemaker at the Alexandra Hospital. In fact prior to this visit and prior to the procedure Dr Khan was very clear and fastidious regarding checks on Jack and the fact that his heart rate was dropping to 30 - to ensure safety during the procedure Dr Khan has gone above and beyond our expectations and made us feel confident and safe under his care

Check in and pre op preparations were fast and efficient. Post op was also good, however, as I suffer from vertigo, there didn't seem to be any medical help available for this condition. I suffered with severe symptoms following anaesthetic. I was supposed to receive a text message the day before my op to confirm, but that didn't happen. When I found the Spencer carpark, I was refused barrier entry as apparently I should have been given a barrier gate code, but I didn't receive it. So this part of my experience was stressful.

Although, it was challenging at times, I've learnt so much about my condition and I now realise that my beliefs does not necessarily mean it's true. Shoulder surgery, acj repair, told to be there at 9am with a 10am start. Surgeon and anesthetist didn't show until 1120, surgery was at 1230. No explanation or apology was given. Since I'm a type 1 diabetic this was especially stressful. It's lucky I'm able to control my blood sugars or I could've been in danger, or had to cancel the surgery.
