The Joint Injection Clinic

A month ago I had the arthrosamid injection. I had never heard of it and initially I went online to find out how others were treating their oesteoarthritis. I found the Joint Clinic quite quickly and was amazed to read that this injection would last about 3 years rather than 3 months for the NHS cortisol injection. My knee was causing a lot of pain especially when the weather changed. I was unable to walk properly, I couldn't walk up or down stairs. My work involves walking and I really thought I would have to retire because of the pain. From day 2 of the injection, I was beginning to walk without as much pain, about 2 weeks later I wasn't limping or experiencing pain at all. It took about 3 weeks to be able to walk up and down stairs without pain. I no longer need anti inflammatory drugs (that was always hit or miss if they would work). I am very pleased with the outcome at the one month mark and I hope my knee pain is no more for years!

I was first seen by Ms Taylor at The Oaks, Colchester, who performed initial investigations and biopsy. I was then referred to Mr Hassan who advised a full abdominal hysterectomy and pelvic floor lift. Mr Hassan carefully explained to me where I was at physically, what the future held, and what the future could hold with surgery. I was reassured by his thoroughness and professionalism and chose to book a surgery date that would suit me. Mr Hassan’s team kept in contact, provided all information I needed, and I returned from the surgery yesterday. Mr Hassan was a brilliant choice for me:- firm, reassuring, efficient and thorough. He visited me on each day of recovery and ensured I was informed of every step of the process and recovery.

I recently visited Fitzrovia Hospital and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The facility is clean, well organised, and welcoming, but what truly stood out was the care of all staff, friendly, supportive and specifically the exceptional care provided by Kate. Kate was warm attentive, and incredibly professional throughout my visits. She took time to care for me and explain all things clearly, was patient and I felt hugely comfortable and supported. Her kindness and calm approach made a huge difference, and I genuinely felt in safe hands. A professional surgical process and experience with timely post op follow up with due care and attention by each and every staff member. Highly recommend.

Fast and efficient xperience. However 10 mins before my lung biopsy going into theatre an extra £985 was billed to me for my lung function test which was never shown in the estimate for Portland place. Surely this cost is known before as I had and paid my £850 for my ct scan on the same day. How is this not shown on an estimate for My visit and sent me the morning of my surgery, utterly disappointed in the treatment and delay in informing me of this for such a short test of 20minutes. If I had known about this extra hidden cost of nearly £1000 I may have pulled out of the whole treatment as this has now depleted my savvings

Check in and pre op preparations were fast and efficient. Post op was also good, however, as I suffer from vertigo, there didn't seem to be any medical help available for this condition. I suffered with severe symptoms following anaesthetic. I was supposed to receive a text message the day before my op to confirm, but that didn't happen. When I found the Spencer carpark, I was refused barrier entry as apparently I should have been given a barrier gate code, but I didn't receive it. So this part of my experience was stressful.

The team on the OCD ward incredibly kind caring and compassionate. It's like being part of a family, including the other 5 patients here. Although, it was challenging at times, I've learnt so much about my condition and I now realise that my beliefs does not necessarily mean it's true. If you're suffering with OCD and feel like you're alone or you have nowhere else to turn to, I highly recommend the Nightingale's 28 day inpatient stay.

I had an excellent experience. The location was easy to find and parking was available on site. The staff were really friendly on arrival and there was nice quiet areas to sit and wait. DR Pradhan was great in explaining all the procedure and understanding my circumstances. She took lots of time to answer any questions and give me all the information I needed. I would recommend MUMS to anyone needed any of the services they offer.

The whole experience was seamless and after the surgery I had no pain with only mild discomfort once i had regained neurological sensation in both my limbs after the spinal anaesthesia. I was discharged the day after surgery and have had no real problems mobilising at home since then with small incremental improvements over the last 3 weeks. I also valued the two 'phone calls made to me by Prof. Field to enquire how I was going on.
