Dr Emmanuel Selvaraj

Dr Emmanuel Selvaraj is a Consultant Gastroenterologist specialising in disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas and biliary system. He provides comprehensive assessment and management of a wide range of digestive conditions, supporting patients through investigation, diagnosis and ongoing care.

He graduated with distinction from Barts and The London School of Medicine, University of London. He completed postgraduate training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and General Internal Medicine across London and Oxford. He was awarded a PhD from the University of Oxford for research into liver disease, and subsequently completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship in Oxford with a focus on pancreatobiliary medicine.

Dr Selvaraj performs a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (OGD), flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and capsule endoscopy.

His clinical practice includes the management of symptoms such as reflux, dysphagia, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, altered bowel habit, rectal bleeding, anaemia and abnormal liver function tests. His specialist interests include chronic liver disease, and pancreatic and biliary disorders.

He is involved in undergraduate medical education at Warwick and Buckingham Medical Schools and contributes to clinical research as a principal investigator in multiple studies.
