I met Dr Elumalai first at Addenbrookes where he was reviewing all the tests and scans I had received there. He advised that if I had medical insurance he would recommend Genesis Care where the radiotherapy treatment could be carried out immediately rather than wait several months in the NHS queue. Other benefits were the insertion of a spacer gel to protect the rectum and minimise side effects. Also Genesis could provide the latest hormone treatment tablet, Abiraterone, which was not yet available on the NHS. At follow up meetings at Genesis, Newmarket, Dr Elumalai had all the test and treatment details available on his computer and could answer all my questions. He has provided reassurance regarding the long term effectiveness of the treatment and at the last meeting confirmed that my cancer was now in remission.

Arrived fifteen minutes before the agreed appointment time as requested. Waited a further 20 minutes before being taken into the pre Investigation booth. Advised to remove certain clothing and jewellery which I did. Ifudbt catch what the nurse ? Assistant quite says as she spoke so quickly. A reversed to this a that. I waited in the booty a further 10 -15 minutes. I opened the door. No one around. I went back into reception as I didn’t know where I should be. Wondering whether I should have returned to the reception. An assistant checked my details. Then a further assistant arrived and took me back to the booth. Scan itself. Could not understand the therapist heard part but again so quick. But held in there. Need more clarity clearer instructions. Speak slowly.

Dr Ryan has given very clear explanations of my diagnosis and the way forward, and has organised tests with the necessary codes to make dealing with Aviva as easy as possible. Dr Ryan also made himself available for the initial visit very quickly after my initial work health screening, despite the holiday season approaching, and has been consistently quick at speaking to me about results and next actions, and drafting letters confirming these. Monica has also been incredibly helpful, organising appointments, codes, changing dates, etc, sometimes replying late into the evening to ensure the appointments / insurance details could be organised as quickly as possible.

Booked an appointment and was seen 2 days later. Dr Chopra was very friendly, took a case history and examined my skin condition. He made suggestions as to the cheapest course of action, which he personally wouldn't have financially benefitted from, which showed real integrity as a doctor. I went ahead with a biopsy, which was quickly and skilfully performed, and dissolving sutures were deliberately used as to save me from needing a return visit, thus reducing costs and time. Dr Chopra clearly cares not only about his patients but also seeks to provide medical attention in the most cost effective manner for his patients.

I was very pleased with my visit to The Forbury Clinic, and was really impressed with how clean and tidy it was, the receptionist was very pleasant and showed my wife and myself upstairs to the waiting area, it was very nice to meet Alexia, we both thought she was extremely pleasant and was very pleased with her examination of my issue, and look forward to my next meeting with her. It was also very nice to meet with Doctor Savage, a very nice gentleman, very courteous to the both of us ,was very patient and was again ,pleased with his time and advice, Thank you all very much. On arrival, and in good time, there was a huge que at the reception desk with only one member of staff trying to deal with patients. We waiting a very long time even to be acknowledged so, not wanting to be late for our appointment, we made our own way to the area A. We were then approached another member of staff in Area A who was able to give us the forms we should have received at reception. Knowing that a significant number of patients were due in the recetion should have been fully staffed with an expeditious way in processing through.

Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough

Staff at the practice seem to be unable to distinguish between NHS patients a d those who Are private and paying. Twice i was sent to the wrong waiting area with NHS patients. Only to be later sent to the private waiting area. As a paying patient i expect a certain level of compitance and care. So come on Barlborough, a little bit of interest in your role might help

Unfortunately I had to wait for 40 minutes to be seen. This was disappointing as I had changed the time of my appointment in response to a request from the Oaks. The staff were very pleasant as was Dr Tang. No problem there. The waiting area was too small and cramped.
